    I loved this car and as the owner of a classic MG I do think that this is the perfect combination of beautiful looks with 100% reliability, modern refinements like air con and electric windows etc. Given the weather on the day I didn't really get to drive it much, but looking forward to doing that in late spring / summer where we will be able to do a proper review of the car itself, but what Peter has built in the Midlands employing all local people and companies in the supply chain and with his apprenticeship scheme is to be applauded.

    Can the electric version be programmed to leak just a little oil? That’s mean, my BGT didn’t leak at all. I can easily see this working for people with short distance drives ….

    I would LOVE a GT, but would need to win the lottery first! (Correction, FIRST I would have to PLAY the Lottery :-)!

    Very Interesting, but you missed a few important items ...... PRICE ??? Speed? 0 to 60 time? Warrantee ? Servicing? Comfort? and PRICE??? All right .... probably built to order, so a wide variety of prices, but a rough guide is essential. Other than that, quite a nice video.

      Prices 'start' at £90k. 0-60 nine seconds.

      @@devanman7920I suspect that the 0 to 60 could be reduced substantially, however, they try to keep handling and performance as close to the original as possible. That is what the chassis was designed for, and what DVLA will accept without requiring a separate inspection for registering. Insurers will also be VERY bothered if you up the performance to what the motor and new drivetrain are capable of.

    Well driving an old "classic" involved engaging with the machine. Way back it was adjusting the ignition to run better. Later on it was simply enjoying making the machine run as you like it. Changing gears at the right time and at the correct revs. Down shifting and matching the revs, to the gearbox. Gear shifting to the sound of the engine and simply the enjoyment of the sound of a finely tuned mechanical combustion engine. NOW. Like being in an elevator. You just push a button and go. No pleasure in the ride. Just going from A to B . Like an elevator.

    How sad . Have you heard the exhaust note of a real MGB ? Replace it with the sound of a hairdryer ? Thanks for the laugh .

    So, no engine burble, no boot space, and a car that weighs a ton? Aside from the appearance, it doesn't sound very classic...

    • @coniow
      @coniow 3 месяца назад +1

      You will probably find the weight is about the same. The whole point is to try to keep the car as close to original spec as possible. A requirement for registering the car with DVLA, and for insurers.
      You try driving one, it will knock spots of the original! Plus be much more reliable as a daily driver.

      @coniow With the average weight of an EV about 400 kg more than its petrol equivalent, and the MGB being so light, I think the handling will suffer, especially when cornering at speed. As a sports car is all about handling and speed... Anyway, it'll make a nice posing car.

      @@stuart7515the weight difference in this case is nowhere near that extreme. Other videos mention the difference as being around 10% of that
