When my daughter was a Baby i turned RUclips on and let her listen to Slash music. She always calms down and fall asleep. Last month, she is 10 years now we've went to the Sash and Myles Kennedy concert in Hamburg...it took two songs and she falled asleep. That's the biggest honor from her to Slash. He is the only one on the planet who can give her the Patience she need to sleep, even if she is in a big Hall with loud music and a lots of people she doesn't know. Even when he play the guitar she feels save. And i love that....thank you Slash

Started to hear Beth after Slash's first song with her, Mother Maria, from his first solo album. One of my favorites on that record. After hearing Beth with JB in so many albums (Live in Amsterdam is WONDERFUL), and after hearing some bootlegs from Slash's Bluesball, it was a dream to hear them together doing a proper blues song.

Slash has his own tone. When you hear it, you know. Always amazing.
While Slash certainly has a defining sound, his tone is more so the recognizable tone of the neck pickup on a Gibson Les Paul. A terrific player but 'that iconic tone' is a Les Paul with the neck pickup engaged.
Except the majority of this album wasn’t recorded with Les Pauls

@@mudwiser1391He absolutely does not exclusively use the neck pup. A big part of his tone are his signature Alnico 2 pickups modelled after his appetite knockoff Les Paul pickups. He normally runs into a Marshall Silver Jubilee which is similar to A JCM800 But definitely distinct if you ever A/B them. He also just came out with an amp with Matchless.
All that being said, he played a Tele, strat, and 355 on this album, and a bunch of vintage amps, so what's your guess on guitar, pickup, and amp on this track?
Tone is in the gear, but definitely in the hands too!

not that I believed him, but Slash always said he didn't know theory. maybe he doesn't know major pentatonic scales? interesting and surprisingly great though.
@@bryanmannoia8410 it's possible he knows the theory without "knowing the theory" - ie he knows that things just work together and sound good, but doesn't know why or how this is - a lot of the old Blues legends were the same.

Of course this is amazing. Slash is a guitar legend and Beth, well I think her voice and style, speak for themselves!! I have been following Beth for about 10 years now, when I happened to accidentally discovered her making a guest appearance with Joe Bonamassa at one of his concerts. Needless to say, I was completely blown away by the absolute power this woman possesses with her voice and passion for using it. If you haven't already, you really should go down the rabbit hole of this woman's music!!! I promise you, you will NOT be disappointed!!!
I heard Slash say that this song was a single take, they had never played it before. When Beth came down to the studio, they were supposed to have a rehearsal but she jumped on the mic and Slash thought "wow that's so good", so they kept this record.
At the end of the song, Beth collasped on the floor and said "I'm done, that was so fuckin cool"
