I think it was supposed to represent her way of living, making what plays during her death the sound of that flame dying out... I also interpreted it as her trying to mask her fear of the rider as she tries to reason with it, which is why that mask slips as she begins to lose her life. I imagine that's why her melee section is so pitiful, she's a cornered kid fighting a monster.
The guy who named every single anticipation part of this soundtrack went insane.

I was actually a little disappointed that her last words were "hold my hand" and not "please, don't go out." I feel like it would've matched with her character better. She didn't want to be comforted by the ruiner of her civilization, she wanted him to not ruin her civilization.

Because it's cut specific to the scene. The star has the attacks and theme fit together too, with the rythm and of you try to break said rythm...it will just adapt to it with said cuts

Last time checked that's just some code name or something so he doesn't have an actual name so either one would work although formally it'd be Rider. That's a weird name for an alien thing that glows neon and has no shoes.
Maybe he's called rider for the fact hes a sort of scout?

@@confusedTurtle_ Everyone has called him Stranger. It's only The Star that has called him rider. It may be some sort of designation that the Star gives the flight-suit riding models.

I was pretty numb by this point after killing sword master. At that point I knew I would kill anyone to escape, and _I couldn't feel for her._ Because it was such an obvious, and horrible, final stage... machinated, to abuse any semblance of my empathy. That the gesture, the fact she was so young, didn't make me feel for her. It made me even angrier. It made me angry that they would use her against me. That their world was so valuable, they would weaponize her soul.
Once I realized she was just a tool, she stopped having the same meaning. To feel for her then, would be granting them the satisfaction of knowing they had the right to the Beat of her soul. Instead, respecting her instead as a warrior, much like I did many of the others. By not looking upon her as a victim, but one who truly was willing to die for her beliefs. I avoided the abusive role assigned to her youth and naivete; to speak to whatever humanity I had managed to take into me.
It was too late for that - - I had already heard The Voice. I had heard them all. I felt his anger. The truth in him. Why should their world be more important than his? I rose above, to the stars, to bring it all crumbling down. One last time.

You should try your hand at writing a Furi fanfiction. A novelization penned by you would be a pleasure to read.
Extremely late reply but I enjoyed the read so much I felt the need to; The difference between her and you is that you decide if her death held meaning: If given the option could you have spared her? Then take her life anyways? The world may have turned her into a tool; but your feelings decided whether she truly was one or a scared little girl.
I need to play this fucking game if creative people such as yourself are able to pull this kind of writing from it. I enjoyed reading this.

It's a bit intense but, this game is more beautiful than I think anyone can ever truly know.

I saw something I wanted, and it wasn't there. So instead of waiting longer, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Don't beg for things. Do it yourself or else you won't get anything.
And all of that nonsense, y'know?
This will help me at being a last guardian.
Not the strongest fighter by any means. Stopping the Rider was a long shot, but she was the last resort. If the Rider managed to make it to her, killing every other Jailer on the way, then her best chance at winning was to fight him with something he was foreign to.
Words.
She was the end.
But the price of freedom is steep, and the Rider was ready to pay that toll. Every Jailer he had killed was leading to this very moment, and he couldn't let it slip him by now. He had to be free, and thus she had failed.
Or had she?
Is this, perhaps, a plot bunny for an AU where The Rider finds a loophole and spares The Beat?

I think the last part might have suggested that The Beat's words managed to convince The Rider to consider a different path, where instead of assimilation, he saves the planet sorts thing.
But now I'm curious as to how a 'spare' route would play out. 🤔
I'm late but i'm curious how a being such as Rider is even capable of understanding language and emotions or something. Like did he learn it or is somehow born/created with it that is something that keeps me awake sometimes. Come to think of it .. I wonder how his civilization functioned.. and whether he ever saw humanity as something he could become apart of.. okay now i'm being weird.

@@clilalittle2015 True. He is a sentient being after all. I assume his kind are forced to rid of any emotional feeling and obey what they are commanded to do. Maybe The Star feared he would become to sentient and self aware and instead of forcing him to assimilate they decided to obliterate him. These things make me not sleep at night wondering how such a human like being destroys living organisms.

What I meant was the ost they released to the public which had limited content on the songs. The pieces composed and used in the game are nothing short of spectacular
the only real difference between this and the official videos is that these are all linked together, and the official ones have every song separate

If you don't mind my asking, how are you getting these? Are the music files just sitting somewhere in the game folder? This series of vids showed me I was missing out on something, but it'd be fun to tinker with the pieces myself. I'm already fairly familiar with Audacity, if that helps lol
Well, I use two methods now.
First, I play through the boss with the sounds and voices muted, and record the audio with Audacity. I let the music loop once before advancing to the next stage. Then, after I have every section recorded, I chop out the extra repeated parts.
However, that's not enough because when a boss says some voice line, it'll dampen the audio slightly. So, I've gone the extra mile of finding the music files in game. Those are located under Furi/Furi_Data/StreamingAssets/Audio/GeneratedSoundBanks/Windows/ as the various .wem files. From there it's getting a .wem converter, which you can find from this reddit post:

The boss versions of the tracks are not continuous, and do not carry any meaningful order in the files. I still record the version as it plays in game to get a feel for the order. Then, I splice in the files I need to cover up any dampened audio sections. I only started doing this with Something Memorable and A Monster, but I'll do it for the last few that I *really* should get around to finishing.
It's also worth noting that you can also find the boss' lines and sound effects by digging around further into the game files, if you want that sort of thing. Though, the boss lines are under the .bnk files which is like a compressed folder, so you'll have to use a BNK extractor found in the above reddit post if you want those. Y'know, for those mad samples and what not.
I hope that helps. There's probably a more efficient way to do this, but this is the process I learned on my own.

Game's made in Unity. There definitely should be a way to rip music out. I assume there exosts some Unity Asset Ripper.

Cade's Day's Horn. The typeZERO bit was a joke about how her song title calls the rider The End. In my favorite anime Eureka 7 (my portrait) the two main mechs are the typeZERO and theEND.
Maybe I should just remove that bit because it’s not funny and nobody gets it.

Would've been better if we could've listened to her in the end. The Song felt vile to me even when you take her side. The lines that the Song had where she says: "I didn't want to hurt you, but I will." Felt so fake, almost like she's taking pleasure in punishing you for rejecting her. The Beat's lines feel a bit more genuine.
Probably a difference in voice acting, but yeah, the dialog in this game is awful.
