Tbh I think he's the only character who gets a somewhat happy ending? He's not afraid of what's coming. In fact, he accepts his fate since there's nothing he or anyone can do about it. Last moments spent with his mother after everything he's been through.

I don't know if I'm the only one who feels a catharsis in this song, especially at the end. It's like a release of raw emotion. And maybe that's why Dennaton used this song for the last Richter chapter. In the whole Act 5, Richter has been pushed to kill, has been walking on the razor edge, and survived. All for his love to his mother. And then, the Janitors told him he has outlived his usefulness, and he has to die. Trapped like a rat. He's alone now. He has lost everything, but now he has nothing to lose. Pushed to the limit, he has to do one final fight. He has to release himself, not only phyiscally, but also mentally. All the anger, all the frustration, all the hatred, all the despair. He's finally free.
This. I fucking love shit like this. Music conveys the story in games and movies so well, and in Hotline Miami's case it's no different. You described this shit perfectly.
Buckets The Hotline Miami games have probably some of the best uses of music in gaming history. Up there with games like Shadow of the Colossus, which also had great and perfectly timed music.
No one talks about 1:21? You've got this chaotic wall of sound pounding your ears, then suddenly it just stops with a single sawtooth wave that can barely keep its composure. It's subtle, it doesn't smack you in the face, but it makes its presence known through its echoes. You think you can take a breather, but you're slapped in the face again and that haunting sawtooth comes back, even angrier. The risers kick back in. There's a warbling noise in the background that seethes rage. If you listen close enough, a harrowing choir sends a shiver down your spine. Next thing you know the track's lashing back at you at full force
After listening to this track like, hundreds of time, I'm feeling some kind of sadness and melancholia in the heavy drop at 2:56, and, of course, violence. Le Perv is so fucking perfect.
Those feelings after the drop counterbalance the feelings of apprehension and rising tension of 2:23 - 2:55. If this song were in a movie, it would be at the part where the heroes are preparing for an attack, and then are completely overwhelmed by the enemy. The entire album tells a story like you would see in an '80s action-horror flick, with each of the EPs being it's own story arc (thus the name Trilogy). Given this song's placement in the album at the end of EP1 and right before Roller Mobster (where the good guys begin to fight back), I think this description is accurate.

I honestly think the music fits rather how Richter was when the prison raid happened. He was very affraid and distressed at first, the janitors telling their goodbyes to him out of the blues, the prison guards blocking the access to the cafeteria and the giant buff dude ready to kill him with several people cheering to see it happen and just as he beats him, the guards wants him dead, when he dresses up as a guard, the PRISONERS wants him dead but he refuses to let himself down. The song starts hopeless but as it progresses, it gets more and more epic and kind of hopeful kind of like Richter as he mows down through guards and prisoner alike just to get out of this hell and meet his mother again after a year

But seriously, this track and Release synergize so well, I can practically picture Release as a short movie, with the all the crazed speed and violence of a prison riot, with Richter escaping in the short duration of this song.
I've said it over multiple comments on multiple videos but I will continue to say that Hotline Miami would be absolutely magnificent to see as a film.
@@saturniidspectrehotline miami already is a film
"Hello, based department? Yes I'll hold."
The music:
I get why everyone loves 2:56 it's great but the part at 0:50 gets me so pumped it's such a good buildup
2:26 makes my soul rebirth
Yup
I can't believe i've only just discovered this artist. Im in love 😍
I love how the drop, whilst being kick ass and action packed, has a bittersweet or almost somewhat sad feeling. I love every bit of it, going beyond just being a fucking epic song. 20/10, would loop again.
Carpenter Brut made the most brutal level in the game a great experience, without this, i would have most likely went insane from the stupid cannibal enemies, thanks a bunch man.
I came here by accident
But boy how i am grateful now.
NOW YOU WANT TO HURT OTHER PEOPLE
There are no accidents.

He just wanted some lunch.

Дорфи *Asshole!*
the real mvp in this chapter is the dude who threw that pipe
*Isn't it lunch time?*
one of the strongest intros to a song of all time 0:00-0:15
One of the best synthwave tracks I ever listened, this break at 3:43 Is what make this song 10/10
It gives me a mental image of stopping with firing for a second to switch weapons before starting again
I'll never be tired of this masterpiece

+CreaturePlaysGames but it worth to bleed. cuz i will not regret if tjis track with full bass was a last sound that i can hear in my life. I WILL REGRET NOTHING. I CAN BE A DEAF PERSON WITH THIS TRACK. I WANNA BE A DEAF WITH THIS TRACK.
Honestly I’m kind of sad that I listened to this song
Because I will never hear 2:56 for the first time again
Don't listen to the song for awhile, forget the beats, return and listen to that beat drop like it was the first time. Problem solved?
Get hit in head with bat, you forget everything, listen to song, problem solved 🙂👍
This song fits Richter Perfectly. The dude can be fucking dangerous if he needs to be. And don’t you dare threaten his mom….
The song starts hopeless but as it progresses, it gets more and more epic and kind of hopeful kind of like Richter as he mows down through guards and prisoner alike just to get out of this hell and meet his mother again after a year
Soon.
4 days ago I was listening to this in my Alfa at night and about a minute in I saw blue lights behind me. The temptation was dangerous...
This is very Justice-y, sounds a lot like Stress
And I freaking love it.
just more aggressive
“Are you going to kill me?”
“Yes”
“Ok”

Make me wish for a custom HL2 Star Wars custom campain
My favorite so far. Emotional, brutal, perfect.
3:43that chord is fire
Божественно, очень много стреляющих треков
I beat HM2 on hard mode and this song gives me PTSD now.
I get more PTSD from Bloodline.
lol. dead ahead on hard wasnt that diff to be honest
I hate the fucking loop in Dead Ahead.
I can't even get past dead ahead on hard I can A+ it on normal difficulty but hard just takes the piss man I get stuck on the third floor and it's so hard ahhhhhhhh
This level on hard mode was the only time I completely lost it throughout the hm series. This music and the intensity made me throw all strategy out the window and just go insane
literally no other track would work better than le perv on release
"it's just a breaking out of jail level, don't go too crazy with the music."
carpenter brut:
0:30
Best drop in this song.
Fight me
Aight we throwing hands then. 2:56 can't be touched

I feel like the fact that this is perfectly timed with 120 bpm (two times faster than seconds) somehow makes it all the more awesome.
huh thats like most common tempo
it sounds identical to 60bpm without the written down music in front of you
ШАРИК НАСТОЯЩАЯ ЛЕГЕНДА❤️ 6-я ночь топовая
Heard this on the promo for Dimension W last night. Good on ya, Brut.
Same. I know the artist of this song from hotline Miami but didn't know about this

I especially love the first 2:30 of this song. Top beat work. Later the chord colors get a bit
'epic rock' for my taste, but I still like it.
2:24 My man over here said "fuck it" and decided to drop the best synth solo in history
Everybody's talking about 2:56 but I'm all about that 2:23.
Good, the buildup is important too~
or 3:43 3:44
Nah, back off casuals, here's the real shit 0:00
I like 0:46
the build up is what gets me EVERY DAMN TIME, 2:45 hits hard.
that 2:23 part is pure gold
I love the bit at 2:04 when that driving beat comes back into it and the song really revs up.
I've been listening to this band for 3 years now. I can only imagine what this church is like I'm real life. Lots of rave worship.
