- How to replace broken screen on Asus TUF FX506L laptop
The display is 15.6" LED Slim IPS, 1920x1080 Full HD, 40 pin connector, 144Hz.
I had a small problem with this one, because I had a broken screw socket. The client punched the screen and it cracked, and the plastic screw socket also snaped.
Perfect - thx a lot!
Great tips, can i change the screen from FHD to WQHD panel in tuf f15 fx507?
Excellent video, at what temp do you use for lifting the plastic housing? Where can I buy a screen for the FX506LH as well as motherboard please?
The temperature is about 120C, but you can worm it with a hair dryer and you don't risk melting the plastic. I've bought the display from my local dealer in Romania.
@@mihailelea legend, thank you for responding so quickly, my wife's Asus overheated due to it being 42 degrees recently, so need to replace motherboard as well as screen that cracked when she accidently dropped a hard drive on the screen when it was on the floor.
@@mihaileleasalut, cam cat costa displayul + montarea și dacă îmi poți spune de unde pot cumpăra displayul? Mulțumesc anticipat.
Great video. Perfect result using it
Très bonne vidéo précise et testée je recommande
Thank you
Thanks a lot mate!
Think i should buy a screen replacement for my FX506L, or might there be another issue?
Powers on, screen has no backlight or image. Can hear it boot into windows, keyboard works, but doesn't display anything using HDMI however. Win + Ctrl + Shift + B makes a beep sound, FN + F9 does nothing.
Unfortunately I can't be sure it's a screen issue if you say it's not working on HDMI either. I think you should go to a laptop service, maybe they have a screen with the same pin layout, even if it's not the same, even if it's broken or something, just to see if on other screen you have something. You could also measure on the LVDS port (screen port) if you have 19V (or the battery voltage if it's not plugged in), but be very careful not to create a short circuit with your probes.
@@mihailelea Looks like it's a screen issue after all. Picked up a cheap USB C to Display Port adapter off Amazon, plugged into my monitor, plugged in Ethernet, let sit for a few minutes, force powered off then booted again, after about 4mins of it sitting it did the Windows chime for a device being plugged in then it displayed on my monitor. Windows doesn't detect the main display on the laptop itself, only the monitor, so guess all I need is to replace the display on it then. Everything else seems to be working fine
@@Whoatharmage hello, have you fixed it? I have the same problem as you. External display is working, but it doesn't even detect the internal one. Im not sure if it is the cable or the display itself.
@ Mihai Lelea I just whant to ask i have an fx506LH but the Asus websit support is bad what Pin is the screen 40pin / 30pin?
i assume seeing yours it is a 40pin
I have the same Laptop as you. Is it really 40pin?
40 pin is 144 hz LCD and 30 pin is 60Hz LCD
@@larskjr7439 ty buddy!
Why did you take off the lvds cable?!?! You didn’t need to do that
the new screen have better color coverage than the old screen? What is the model P/N new screen?
I haven't seen the colors on the old screen, the client brought it to me cracked to change it, so I don't know.
So you don’t really need to take the back of the laptop off to remove the first connector to the display if you have a second connector already behind the screen
You need to remove the back of the laptop in order to remove the battery connector. Never replace a display with the battery connected. You have 19V on the display port even when the laptop is off, and you can burn the port very easily. I've seen it many times.
@@mihaileleaalright thank you, I got my screen replacement today for my asus tuf f15 FX517ZM-AS73. I’ll make sure to disconnect the battery so I won’t end up sad with a new broken screen.
So I got it done, I know my tuf f15 is not like yours but I kept track on the screws, used a hair dryer to soften the glue, bought doubled sided tape, but your steps really helped and your video was so helpful. Thank you!
@@mihailelea can this laptop boot without battery connected? just from AC to test display before installing?
@@spartaqq Not sure about this model. I think it can, but I'm not sure. You don't have the battery?
Please? Do you have the part number?
Where to get new display any website or link?
I've bought this one from la local shop in Romania...
@@mihailelea oh ok
What is the cost of screen?
65 to 120 on Amazon off brand is cheaper than brand but for quality idk 🤷🏻♂️
