*CAN WE GET 50000 LIKES ON THIS VIDEO FOR SUZANNE???*
Calligraphy Masters you deserve more than that :) great video..
I think 500.000 likes it is amazing
It’s 6k now. Strange pen but beatific results
6.5k now. Suzanne does beautiful work. I'm just beginning and only have a Manuscript pen, not a beautiful offset like that one...If you don't mind me asking, how do you price work like this. I hope to one day do work like this for a living.. along with watercolor cards... think those two make a good combo.
Calligraphy Masters by
People don’t know how HARD it is to write calligraphy that slow and steady. When I do calligraphy, I have to do it fast so the line aren’t squiggly. This lady is so skilled and talented to be able to write like that, not to mention her font is sooo elegant!!😍
It came completely naturally to me.. I thought it was so easy and a lot of people thought I was crazy or some savant at calligraphy, but I think my background in Graffiti and art just allowed me to have a really steady hand, but also a great understand of letters and feel for how to use the ink/paint.. Spray paint is in some ways similar to Calligraphy. With the angling of the can and the spray and the quick changes in pacing and movements to achieve a thinner or thicker line.
Art isn't mumble rap. Try art is not reproducible.
Read "Calligraphy Masters" 😎
It's not a font, in calligraphy they're called "hands". Copperplate is an hand.
Yes. You are right. I have to write fastly or my handwriting looks trembling.
It’s bad enough to think that we have misplaced the art of writing a letter, but this is a reminder that we have neglected so much more. Bravo, Ma’m. A work of elegance! Thank you.
I believe writing like this makes you a better person
☺🇮🇳🌬💜🖤💜👍
I do calligraphy like this myself and I must say it is very relaxing and calming
@CursiveCutie - Your suggestion is an insult to this video. Some of the ugliest letters on RUclips. So ugly the comment section has been turned off.
Exactly that's why I'm learning
@@Taytay583 good luck
This was the calligraphy equivalent of watching Bob Ross on PBS - simultaneously soothing and awe-inspiring!
That’s amazing! I didn’t know human hands could create such perfection.
Of course!! You can too ;)
@@CalligraphyMasters I want to learn this if you could help please master
It’s better than a computer generated text. We have lost appreciation for these things.
Never imagined this can be human :) any good place to teach these techniques online ?
*Watches 4 minutes, completely enraptured*
Me: Is it possible to learn this power?
Yes
If you have much time
Practice between applying the shoe cream and brushing.
Belief & patience in you, being never afraid of failure, sticking to the basics will get you the letters you want.
Imitation is the mother of invention, keep this in mind.
totally possible
We live in fast times no one has patience to write like this today, its a work of art, simply amazing, God bless
the original ASMR. calligraphy is a family tradition you can pass down like my german grandfather did for my mum and now me. it is so peaceful
watching this is satisfying and listening to her talk bout the pens... man... i don't know what tf she's talkin bout but it sounds fancy af
:D
hahahahahahahaha
lmao, you have dibs on best comment ever.
No cover your ears it's Genjustu. You'll be trapped in the satisfied illusion 😂

The flourish part reminds me of the way plants grow...or just nature altogether.
It's supposed to be like this, that's why it's called #flourishing :D Thanks for watching
And that's a beautiful thing.
2:47... She's the "Bob Ross" of calligraphy
👏🏼🥰👏🏼🥰👏🏼🥰👏🏼🥰👏🏼🥰👏🏼🥰
I absolutely love how this isn’t sped up and making you feel like everyone can do this as quick as other people write normally. It takes time and patience and makes me feel so much better 😂
If I ever get a letter with my name written like that, I'm displaying it on the wall with a fancy frame ✨
Lovely 💖
That’s so funny, I did this for a client with a note that wasn’t so positive. They stated that their name was so beautifully written that they kept the letter.

Nothing beats a fountain pen when it comes to elegance
yikes … the first time ever i watched someone using calligraphy tools … what a treat! such control and authority demonstrated … as though fingers become a ballerina's toes. thanks much for sharing.
Simply magnificent! Imagine, monks wrote the ENTIRE Bible in this script!
It’s a joy to watch someone who is really good at their work. Pure Inspiration. Please more…

I believe this might be the most hypnotizing video on the internet
Dexterity, skill, and grace.
i,m sitting here with my mouth open, your a very talented lady suzanne, beautiful calligraphy.
Are you from San Francisco?
Lovely, Suzanne! No sooner had I seen “Com” in the address line, I knew it would be Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. I live in a suburb of Boston and have traveled on “Comm-Av” many times. BTW...your script is beautiful. Mine is not nearly as precise due to neuropathy in my fingers nowadays. Yet I was blessed to have been taught “Spencerian Script” over 50 years ago by the late George Hilliard, a gentleman who had worked in a bank his entire adult life and did all the ledger entries using this script. Can you imagine what that must have been like? What Mr. Hilliard taught me was essentially what you’ve demonstrated in this video, but with a little less flourish.
I just showed my daughters and told them: From now on you have to write like this...
Lovely writing !

Mar Reu When I was a kid we were taught cursive handwriting. I can’t remember seeing my kids and grandkids report card showing and testing for handwriting. 😔 I guess with technology few people have “cursive hand” anymore.
Want to see some upset people? Require everyone who is due a stimulus check to sign it in cursive script rather than print...😳
No, I better not go there. 😇
Love the calligraphy

I had to learn cursive writing too, especially when i was the angry kid again and my father told me to write 10.000 times: You have to listen to your mother and do your homework...or stuff like that 😁
It helped me to write in a way, i never would do today, plus i didn't had to do the homework my mother gave me, cause i had to write for weeks 😂
The elegance, the beauty !! i dab you The Scribe Mother!
I would feel so honored to receive mail addressed so beautifully.
“Whenever I do two letters together I always make them different because its very difficult to get them the same”. She then proceeds to write three words each with double letters which turn out identical!
Tink she meant ontall standing letters but Igy aha
Spent Three years trying to get my council to carry out a repair. Email, phone calls and face to face meetings.
In the end I wrote a copperplate letter and produced replication of a late 18th century ships letter , complete with wax seal and postal stamps. One week later the repair was carried out.
The hand written letter has more power in our modern society than people realise.
Hi Suzanne! I could watch you do this all day. I've viewed this video many times. You are definitely the BEST!!
Anyone else enjoying this with some smooth jazz in the background? If not, I can highly recommend this combo ;)

Beautiful writing, Suzanne. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Your writing is inspiring the people like us who want to learn calligraphy
This master of her art makes it look so easy, but I assure you, that is not the case at all.
I have been a calligrapher for over 30 years and am quite impressed with your spacing and control, I know how difficult that is!! Kudos!
That hand drawn Copperplate script is so beautiful! Your rendering is so precise, it's like watching a neurosurgeon do intricate brain surgery! :)
Hahahah thank you for the awesome comparison
I was a signwriter for decades but this is beautiful...immaculate!!
Maybe this is a sign that you have to go back to letters! :)
Someone commented below "Calligraphy makes you a better person". I so agree. It is a beautiful Discipline Practice and Meditation. I am most impressed with Suzanne's speed. It is hard for me to overcome the impulse to move quickly (& not freak out when inevitably my Nib catches :( ) Thank you for sharing your Art! Divine.

Just starting trying to learn some Copperplate script and this is one of my favourite videos as it is both very inspiring and tremendously intimidating at the same time. Great work Suzanne Cunningham, it is absolutely beautiful!
She makes it look so easy.
So ive just watched a documentary about Queen Mary, and i was blown away when i saw the letters she'd made and left behind. Her calligraphy was so amazing that's why I'm here XD
The pen IS mightier than the sword, especially when wielded by Suzanne Cunningham!! I'm a left-handed beginner staring at 200 blank A-7 envelopes which I need to transform into Cunningham-esque works of art. I'm certain I want to use Copperplate but was wondering if you have documentation on the specific alphabet used in your video.
No wonder you're one of the masters of calligraphy. I'm so amazed.
No one is a master here.. This is just a name... brand ;) But glad you like it !! Thanks for watching :))
This is absolutely exquisite calligraphy and you must be a very patient person. The talent you have is incredible! I became mesmerized watching you write each letter with grace and it was just peaceful. I am so glad that I came across this.
how can anybody hit Dislike for this kind of excellent Calligraphy.... ??
No idea, but it doesn't really matter since the like are much much much moree :)
This is absolutely amazing, I can’t imagine the number of hours of practice you went through to reach this level of perfection !
This is a wonderful skill. A beautiful masterpiece. Takes patience and repetition. I hope i can get on her level one day.
It’s possible - success to you Marcus
@@guidrydale appreciate it.
Anytime someone makes it look so simple and easy, it’s never is easy or simple!
Holy perfection Batman. How is this even possible? Our ancestors would be proud.
What a pleasure to watch! It makes me sad that not only is calligraphy a dying art form, but that some kids aren't even learning proper cursive writing in school anymore. One day, in the regretfully near future, an envelope addressed this way will likely be returned to sender, because no one at the post office will be able to read it. :(
Well with communities like ours I don't think it's dying art form at all ;)
Sadly our post office system works different. There are computers which read the adress automatically...we need to write clean and in non cursive... otherwise the system can't read it.
@@lexa7590 Whaaat? So, where are the ones I post with my usual cursive? Dead letter bin?
My grandchildren (11 and 15) can't read cursive, so they have no idea what their grandparents have written in their birthday cards. Oh well, they probably don't care - as long as a $20 bill falls out of mine. And $100 from the other grandparents. 😔😁
Thankfully my kid's are in a district still teaches cursive and easier for my daughter compared to print
I am a Disney Artist and I was looking for some artistic inspiration and I'm just soooo happy to have found this video... So amazing. Thank you.
I wish that Disney still made hand-drawn movies.
The power of the pen is so amazing!!

The best standards of calligraphy and cursive writing is doing it in a tangible way, where the remains are certainly readable and full of style. This is genuine. It is readable and intricately designed as the flows of the waters in a mountain.
Suzanne, Thank you for this video. It was extemely helpful as I have just begun to teach myself this art. Watching you create the strokes gave me insight as to where I was making my mistakes.
Hai una scrittura meravigliosa con il pennino, scrivi in modo divino come intestazione alle lettere. Per me hai un dono proveniente da Dio. Tutto questo proviene dal tuo cuore e dall'anima che c'è in te. Grazie mille ciao.
Thanks so much! Would you perhaps be willing to do another envelope video explaining how you choose your spacing and then mark it before writing? This is always hard for me, and I often leave too much space between the lines of writing. So, how close together should they be? This would be sooooo helpful! BTW, your copperplate is some of the most elegant I have ever seen!
Just gorgeous! I have struggled with capital B's & D's for years, never loving them ... but I love your's and will try to emulate them. I have never tried the side nib pen, but may just add it to my practices.
I also struggle with capital B’s and D’s and sometimes V’s
Wow. This is my childhood passion, I used to do this almost everyday in school during classes. While my teacher is lecturing, I am busy doing this stuff. Sadly when I began to work after college my passion died due to stressful shifts at work. I'm just glad that my 6 year old daughter is now the owner of my old tools since shes fond of it too. Before I don't want anyone touching my tools, now it was me who personally handed it over to my princess.
Ấn tượng chưa ! Nét chữ nghiêng nghiêng uốn lượn đẹp mắt mê ly mê say quá đi !

I learned this in the 8th Grade, Just beautiful !!
I've watched many videos hoping to learn something and yours is the most beautiful I've ever seen, by far.
Stunningly beautiful! Thank you for sharing . You have inspired me to get my pens out again.
Not sure which is more beautiful, Suzanne's eyes, the calligraphy or the piano in the background.
How about all 3 !! Perfect combination :)
All including the sound created by the nib as it touched the paper and Suzanne's voice. :)

Invitations must take forever, but this is fascinating.
Did it take that long in history to write something?
Absolutely beautiful!
After 1 year later, nobody answered this perfectly fine question!
So I answer this question.
Salutations Shawna Graham! I am Albert! You may call me Geronimo, as it's a form of respect in our home.
And the answer is..Yes! They do!
Calligraphers do this type of thing to create the perfect font for the perfect envelope! As it's a form of respect to the person who's demanding a letter!
De Salutations! (De Salutations is a form of goodbye)
@@geronimo6038 Thank you Geronimo for your response. It seems the further ahead in time we move the less elegant, respectful, caring we become. It’s like we’re regressing as a species. I’m ranting so sorry. Again thank you for your response.
So when you're finished and ink is dry, do you erase the pencil grid on envelopes? I've seen others use some mirror trick or laser liners to avoid the pencil marks. Just wondering which is more helpful and practical.
Good question!
What about light box with a lined paper underneath?
@@ctky478 Yes...It can be practised....most of science students do this to trace the original diagrams onto the record sheets.
@@ctky478 Another trick is...draw lines using scale and nail of left/right hand's thumb....where the lines need not be erased...
@@ctky478 it works great. I use a light-box.
You have to tape down or anchor the paper in place though.
I use a paper-like transfer tape with light tac, as used in the Sign making industry. It is also called application tape.
Back in the mid 1960s all primary children use to write with an ink pen, I remember we had an ink well at the end of the desk and being left handed my writing was always smudged and I would be told off and the pen would be placed in my right hand. They didn't succeed as I'm still left handed. Come late 60s early seventies thank goodness for biro pens but I do admire this copper plate work.
I saw one of your interviews and really enjoyed hearing your journey with calligraphy. I admire the level you have achieved. Fantastic!
Truly a talent I don't have! I bought supplies last year to work on my handwriting and really practice.. it's harder than I imagined but I'm going to try again! Thanks for the video!
Danielle Carbajal there is no talent..its all about practice and not giving up 😊😉
Your copperplate is magnifique!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you like it, thank you for watching!!
Some time in the early 80s, I watched a film about a mediaval era in England. In one part if the film, there was a letter written by a prince to a church member. The handwriting in that letter (calligraphic), really got me motivated that I began adopting the style in my daily handwriting. Even though my handwriting is NOT a true calligraphy style of writing, I still use the same writing strokes in it.
I have had a very long love of calligraphy, that started when I was at my last school over 40 years ago I have all ways been able to draw but during my art classes I refused to draw so my art teacher put a black letter alphabet in front of me and told me to learn to write it, I was to young to realise I had to learn to draw the letters, she was a great teacher and I did not know it.
Absolute perfection, this lady is fantastic and very encouraging. Looking forward to watching many more interesting videos, wow - 10/10
