I will Forever love this movie. John Hughes really knew what he was doing. All of the characters were relatable. How can you not Love Duckie? I loved his wardrobe, it worked perfectly and Jon could get away with it. Some people can't wear wild clothes like that, it doesn't suit them but it totally worked for Duckie. They actually, really nailed the wardrobe for everybody in this movie. Great Job for making such an Timeless Classic movie.
I agree. The clothes were like the 4th main character in this movie. I loved them! They were vintage but so 80’s at the same time. I remember being “dressed” by a stylish college friend for an important first date--big shoulder pads, high pointy collar with an oversized broach at my collarbone--I felt just like Molly Ringwald.
Molly was, is & will forever be the Queen of the 80’s! There was no one else like her in fashion, hipster style, talent & especially great hair & to-die-for lips! You always wanted Molly to win, get the guy, while maintaining her cool girl status.
3:21 Where I went to Highschool I really don't recall anyone focusing on the class system. I visited Morristown, NJ and a pub I went to the townies were one side and the rich kids on the other. I was on the road and I walked into the place with my La Jolla sweatshirt 😂 they were ALL staring at me. I asked for a glass of ice water, the bartender called me a big spender! I'm like Jesus I'm driving!? Gave the punk a five dollar tip. I wanted to stand on the Bar and say you Mo-Fos wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my relatives fing boat huggers. I had never experienced that class system crap. But, yeah it's pretty nuts.
Marilyn Vance nailed the preppy look. I grew up in Southern California at that time & that was exactly what that clique wore. Wayfarers, Izod & Polo shirts. Khakis (pegged) & dock siders with no socks…. Your quintessential coked up douche born into old money.
I didn’t go to my prom. Because it was $45 for the ticket and my mom didn’t have the $. I was a loner and a nerd anyway so I would have stuck out like a sore thumb and probably gotten made fun of (like I often did).
You know when I was a kid, and when I was it high school people kind of when I’ve got a bit angry with things looked at me with almost premonition and a bit idyllic sense of uncertainty which is very weird in my estimation. 6:58
@@julieann4616 Thanks. I was born six months after Molly. I have two AAs, 3.7 GPA. I didn't do well in math, due to eye problems. I finally finished Algefra at age 54. I'm surprised she got to algebra at all. Kid actors only have 4 hours of school work and tutoring a day.
Prettier In Pink...I'd go see it. Andie's a respected designer with a couple of kids (who are completely different) one is masculine, and one is a snob like the girls she went to school with, but she straightens out the snob and polishes the more masculine one. Oh, here's the twist, she's friends with Steph because he grew up and got his head out of his backside.
@@mysticalmargaret6105 The interview stated Molly was 16/17 at the filming time. (Sophomore/junior in HS level ?) Algebra or Algebra 2 was very probable.
I think John Hughes retired because he found the landscape very difficult to handle I think. In some regards he was very tiresome of how people were seeing him for what he is. 3:21
The other attraction of John Hughes films was the fact that they all had great soundtracks.
Exactly
Those movies were successful because they had heart.
John Hughes films are feel good comfort movies, still watch them all every month of every year❤

I still love Pretty In Pink.

RIP John Hughes!!
Hughes made the best movies and I miss him. I love Molly and watch everything she is in. Love her.
Molly so pretty here
I witnessed Molly’s bullying in school and I thought it was so wrong, terrible and unfair. We shared a mutual friend and I knew she was a nice girl. ❤
Jon Cryer hasn’t aged at all. He literally looks exactly the same.
Luv John Hughes

I went through the same. People you don’t know bully you.
My favorite movie❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉
Laughing at his outfit? Now I know why I get mocked for my clothing...I think everything Duckie wears is freaking awesome.
Annie Potts still hot after all these years....MEEmaw
John Hughes legend. Period.
Molly; My Agent!!!! I Have Always Loved Her As A Person; Perceived In Her Is Lady Ingenieure; Lady Pink; Lady Crimson Rose; Lady Cherry!!!!🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌

As a Scotsman, I understand, I got bullied the same way as her in a different manner 4:57.
Not the mullet lol...but true...more heart n feelings in movies

She took algebra as a senior?? Damn!
Better late than never.
@@prettypennyschannel good point! (I love the name Penny 🤍)

I rather do appreciate the character of Steph.
Interesting Home, Molly Ringwald was very open about why she hated Jon Cryer 0:06
I went to that time stamp and there's no comment about Jon Cryer. And there's nothing there about him. Is there a different time stamp
Wait
Why does she looks so ... scared? Was she sick? Her eyes te scaring the f out of me😭😭😭
No, it’s the lighting. There’s a bright spot light in her face and it’s showing up in her pupils.
This is very kleptocratic talking 1:24
Hmmm.
She didn’t complete algebra till she graduated HS??
No, she took her Algebra exam between takes on set. This was BEFORE she graduated from high school.
