Why South Africans Voted for Jacob Zuma

Former President Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) party has won the South African elections with impressive numbers. MK also won KZN with the highest number of votes, about 46%, ahead of the ANC, which managed about 18%.
Although many believe that the Zulu people voted for this party simply because its leader is Zulu, they fail to realise how smart of a politician Zuma really is. This explainer touches on the party's success.
