  • Roberto Bertero at the organ of Turin’s Santuario della Consolata (Church of the Virgin of the Consolation).
In this video I am playing my organ transcription of the world famous Ave Maria attributed to Giulio Caccini.
Actually the real composer of this work is the Russian musician Vladimir Vavilov.
On 1972 Vavilov himself recorded and first published this Ave Maria for the Russian label Melodiya, attributing it to an anonymous author.
The composition has been subsequently ascribed to Caccini after Vavilov’s death, by the organist Mark Shakhin, who distributed as well the score to other musicians.
As organist of the sanctuary "La Consolata" it is my concern to perform this touching work in conjunction with important Marian feasts, not by chance I made this recording during the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, on December 8th 2023.
Since I am also active as photographer of the alpine range, I've thought appropriate to include in this video some shots of mine taken on three mountains - Rocca Sella, Rocciamelone and Gran Paradiso - portraying the respective summit Marian statues.
Welcome to this RUclips channel aimed at providing some quality online documentation concerning the "Camillo Guglielmo Bianchi" organ located in the Consolata Sanctuary, Turin (Italy).
Audio or audio-video file will be regularly uploaded, all recorded LIVE.
The sound will be captured with Zoom H5 audio recorder (96kHz / 24bit), while footage will be filmed with Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.
The intent is to create a database of the musical literature performed by me, titular organist in this prestigious sanctuary, right during the religious services along the Liturgical Year or during the organ auditions, between one Mass and another.
