- The McDonald's Video game was a flash game developed by Molleindustria. Their goal was to make a game that was satirical and absurd in order to show the darker side of how McDonald's was ran. The game can open your eyes to that new perspective, but it's also really fun to play!
It does a great job of introducing you to the many in real life problems the restaurant causes and how they work in corrupt and unethical ways to fix them. You can have really great success in the game by tossing safety standards and care for the public out the window.
From the farm, to the slaughterhouse, then the restaurant, and corporate hell, you can control the industry how you want!
On many websites besides Molleindustria, the game had it's name changed to "Burger Tycoon" in order to avoid copyright and other legal issues with McDonald's. Since there's probably many things in the game they don't like so much.

Literally remembered this game completely out of the blue. 10 year old me never reliased the high level of satire and irony of the game.

Brings me back. I completely missed the satirical point of the game growing up and tried to run a clean business without relying on bribes and angering anyone.
I barely lasted 10 minutes.
I havent added any bad stuff to the food or got knocked down land I didn’t start with and I’m at 2067!! And about $40k profit.. but yea if you want to make it a million dollar business you need to be sketchy
Who else had no idea how to successfully play this game but played it for countless hours anyway just doing the same thing and failing after 10 minutes, only to say “let’s do that exact same thing again”

Tips:
1) Do not bribe anyone, it's not worth it. You are gonna get sued anyway. Just invest in marketing (2 to 3 campaigns make the store full).
2) Do not let the cows land die. Sell it so it can regrow, so you do not run out of land. Buy more land so while one regrows, you creat cattle in the other.
3) Invest in hormones so cows can grow faster and produce meat faster.
This way you can have a infinite business.

I played this game a lot when I was little, and obviously the satirical nature of it went completely over my head. I never knew what to do, I just pressed buttons lmao. I randomly remembered this game recently and played it, and man despite it being a nearly 17 year old game, its still hilarious and pretty relevant with the message it sends
This game was one of the coolest website the school’s system didn’t have blocked. We all played it and tried to get as far as we could. It was fun, and the new translations makes it much more clear how much of a parody game it is hahah

This game was really fun and addictive. I’m surprised McDonald’s didn’t sure the hell out of them being that they used the name and logo or did they?
I don't think they did, though many sites did change to name to Burger Tycoon to avoid catching any heat from McDonalds.
They threatened to sue so a bunch of sites did remove all mentions of McDonalds from it.

I liked this game but I couldn't keep up for long. I didn't know all functions and my land got totally ruined by cows. Employees stopped doing their job, lines stopped, I couldn't figure out that I was out of burgers or that I could hire fresh employees. I want to give another shot now that I know more functions.
Reached year 2100 but overall profit is stagnant at $60000-ish. Deactivated the bribes and doesn't use any other funny chemicals on the crops and cows. All marketing options are toggled on and almost every groups except environmentalists are happy. But the graph is just a flat line and the chairman of the board of directors keeps complaining that we're not growing enough because there are no progress 😅

A game like this with a more of progression tone on the App Store/Google play would actually be a pretty decent tycoon game. It would definitely stand out from the brainless idle click games where you can end up from 0$ to 500 quintillion in a matter of a couple hours to a few days. Whereas if a game like this slowly introduced a levels system, this could easily be a life long progression game similar to the sims
loved this game as a kid, the political commentary makes more sense to me now as an adult. great game that was ahead of its time

The funniest part of this game has to be the boardroom members dicking around saying incoherent corporate nonsense on loop, which has nothing to do with the actual game.

I was, it went on for long enough lol. You can either fail or keep alternating the farms so they don't get permanently destroyed.

This game takes me back. There was another game I used to play growing up where you were a country leader, and you were in charge of an island. You could make alliances with other world leaders or go to war with them. I can’t remember the name of the game any more though :(
Would the name of that game be "World Domination" by any chance? It's also a flash game, where the player runs an island, and the goal is to destroy the islands of your world leaders of choice? There's a sequel for that game too.

You gotta hire sandwich makers in the restaurant. Also if you're killing the cows yourself with the torch option, that's only for mad cows. Gotta let them be slaughtered automatically.

I used to like playing this game I used to just fill all the fields up and kill end up with loads of sick cows to the point mad cow just killed everything and everyone. Bacially play it till distruction. Just like the real McDonalds would have done.
TL:DR I used to create Mc Apocalypses. Because by the end of the game Mc Donalds would be dead, but so would everyone else.
