Yes I agree so many books glamorize war. It’s fucking gross. A long petal of the sea did a great job of illustrating its ugliness. I loved how you talked about abuse in the LGBTQ community bc my favorite book of the year was allllll about that topic and it meant the world to me to see it finally depicted in such a fucking amazing way I wasn’t sure about the fever king but now I’ll read it! I’m sooo sick of wack YA villains so I’ll read it for that good villain rep alone ahhh I need to get to the weight of the stars for my bgm series!

I pretty much read two genres (murder mystery and historically based books ) but the way you discuss what you’ve read makes me want to branch out. I add at least two books to my list every time i watch a video ☺️💕

I like mysteries because I’ve had problems getting through books in the past and mysteries keep my attention because you never know what’s going to happen next or “who done it.” so I’ve been reading the popular/basic series like Agatha Christie books and Perry Mason series. But I very much enjoyed The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. Some reviews say it’s difficult to follow but that’s my favorite mystery so far.
The Poppy War was one of my favourites of 2018!! I hope you get to read the sequel soon, it's amazing! The Fever King and RWRB are on my favourites of 2019 too!! 🤪 Love from A to Z, The Weight of the Stars, and Kingdom of Copper are on my tbr, I hope to get to them soon in 2020. 😪
