- In this episode i'm going to explore the famous Pangong Tso lake, a lake with incredible turquoise shades, surrounded by a varied series of mountain ranges.
Before reaching the Pangong Tso lake i must cross the Chang La Pass, one of the highest mountain passes in the world with its 5390m.
The pass itself is quite easy, even if the road after it is quite tricky. But the last part of the road towards the lake is even worst, so that it takes more than 4 hours jut to reach Pangong Tso lake.
Once at the lake i find out that there is a road, not showed on the navigator, which runs along the west side of it. I decide to follow it to the end, taking a risk because i'm not sure where it will end up, and there are no gas stations within over 200km.
Suddenly the paved road ends, and i find myself struggling for hours with sand, river crossings, more sand and super bumpy dirt roads. But the view in front of me for the next 4-5 hours is something unbelievable.
I'll come back to Hemis at night, super tired but with an amazing an incredible wealth of memories.

So I have been there 3 times in 2015 from Manali to Leh at this time the Highway was pretty rocky...did Kardungla pass, Tso Moriri and Tso Kar then back to Manali
In 2017 departed from Shimla then Kinnaur and Spiti return to Manali through Keylong and Rotang
Last time in 2019 from Dharamsala then Sach pass then join Manali Leh Highway in Keylong to Upshi then Nyoma then Pangong Tso then Nubra valley and Hunder, return to Leh through the Kardungla pass..
I would like to return again 😍

Yes, I was completely destroyed at the end of the day, also because of the altitude (some people still ask me why I don't use to show the accommodation or the dinner at the end of the video 😅).
I know, the video is super long. When I started editing it I had the instinct to cut it into 2 half, but then I thought it would have been a mistake in this case. If you felt the need to get out for a ride, I guess I was right 😊

Si, i paesaggi di oggi li considero davvero superlativi. E i colori sono naturali, non c'è stato bisogno di alcun intervento in fase di editing. Giusto un filo di contrasto per bilanciare la forte luce, e via
😱prima parte del passo è a dir poco PAZZIAAA! superare tutte quelle asperità del terreno,poi però arrivi a toccare il cielo con un dito con questi panorami mozzafiato 😍 grande 💪

Hi Mike, first of all let me thank you for your donation to support the channel 💚, I guess it was you.
The bike above 5000m was lacking almost half of its power, which you really can feel it. In this episode I wasn't climbing very steepy uphills, so it was not a huge problem, but you can see during the river crossing how the engine was struggling to take me out from the water.
On Himalaya (pakistan, India and Nepal) there is absolutely no point to ride a more powerful bike, the roads are so bad that no way to ride much faster than I did, or you easily break something. The stabilisation of the camera makes every road smoother than it is, but they are awful

Ciao Savino, si un po' di gente c'era, ma solo in alcuni tratti. Considera che il punto più basso di tutto il ladakh credo sia la città di Leh, che è a 3500m, quindi i 4000m sono collina lì 😁
Ma sai, alla fine ho consumato più o meno come al solito, poco più, perché ho fatto 430km con un pieno e ne avevo forse ancora 40/50 al rientro. Come strada non è tanto peggio di molte altre su cui ho calcolato i consumi, che x me si aggirano sui 25/26 al litro

thanks man. honestly i'm not sure it could be a good idea to sleep there, because for some reason during the nights i was waking up many times for the lack of oxigen while in Leh (3500m), at least for the first few days, so it wouldn't have been pleasant.
I guess it depends by the fact that, while sleeping, your brain goes in a kind of "auto-mode" and gives to your body the command to breath as it is used to do at lower altitude.
but after 4-5 days this weird affect almost disappeared. For sure it would be amazing wake up whit that view in front of you

Border roads were ignored for a long time, thankfully the current government seems to be quite agressively pushing infrastructure in border areas and was quite apparent from all the construction activity going on. Hopefully in a few years all of it will tarmac road.
I honestly believe that this kind of road could lost a lot of attraction if they become paved. Bit i understand if the purpose is to increase the tourism that's the way to follow. I just believe it's a pity for many of us 😊

The lake was 4300m, the first pass was almost 5.400m, and the rest of the road mostly between 4.500 and 5.000m
Luckily no headache, but the lack of oxygen made me tired much more than normal. I was really exhausted already at half way, you probably have heard my voice was of a tired man 😅

La benzina che trovi lì è venduta da privati e pare sia di qualità davvero pessima, probabilmente mischiata con altro per allungarla.

Se si come mai? Perchè sono raffreddate ad aria?
Ciao Vito, sono felice ti sia piaciuto questo video. Io lo adoro, non tanto il video in sé che è abbastanza semplice dal punto di vista dell'editing, quanto per i paesaggi, e ovviamente perché è una giornata che non scorderò mai e mi piace riguardarmela quando ho tempo.
Secondo me è un po' una legenda metropolitana che le Himalayan risentano meno di altre della quota. Sono diffusissime perché sono prodotte in India, perché costano 2 spicci, sono robuste e facili da riparare, e ti assicuro che su quelle strade con 100cv non ci fai nulla, anzi spacchi più velocemente qualcosa.
Tieni anche conto che il 90/95% delle moto che vedi sono a noleggio, e in quei posti non puoi dare un gs o un Teneré in mano a uno che magari neanche ha la patente.
