  • It's time to come back from Leh (actually Hemis) to Manali (actually Keylong), and to do so i have to ride again along the "Leh-Manali Highway". I usually don't like to ride twice on the same road, especially when it's tough and dangerous like this one, but this time it well worth it.
When you ride on dangerous roads you must be so focused on the road itself that frequently you miss some amazing landscape around you. And when you have to ride for 10-11 hours, maybe under the rain or snow and at extremely high altitudes, you really cannot stop every 5 minutes to enjoy the view, especially the one behind you.
Well, in this case i couldn't have been more happy to pass twice on this road, because i realized I missed some of the most incredible landscape i've ever seen in my life. And, thanks to the recently fallen snow, even the parts i had seen properly they got a completely different taste.
All in one day: the Gata Loops (21 hairpin bends which brings you from 4,200m to 4,700m), the Baralacha La Pass (4,900m), the Nakeela Pass (5,100m), the Taglang La Pass (5,300m) the second highest pass in the world, and the 50km of Moray Plains.
