Thank you so much in helping me decide which dehydrating book to purchase as a beginner!! You’ve just earned yourself one more subscriber have a blessed day!
I can't see anything I did not like about this video. It was extremely helpful to me. Just started dehydrating...whether I do it right or wrong. And that is no good. I want to learn to do it correctly and be confident I am moving through all the steps safely. Thanks a million for helping all of us. I like how you present the information in a clear, precise way. My time is valuable as I am sure everyone's is...so thank you for not wasting it with a lot of fluff...lol. Jesus bless.
I have all three and you are correct, each one gives you something you need. Now, I’m waiting for you to write one on powders. I am totally new to them and need to know how to keep and use them. :)
Hey, I just notice, your a fellow Texan. Howdy 👋🏼 partner! I'm close to Houston. It's ok if you like the city life, which I don't. I was raised in the country with gardening, raising animals and hunting. But, my husband is a native Houstonian and worked in downtown Houston until retirement. We are in the process of moving to the country. There is so much to do!
Hi New subscriber...Tysm for your review....so helpful, so thorough. I just got my Excalibur dehydrator....Going to check out the first and third book. Appreciate that you took the time to make this vid...very well done!!!👏👏👍👍
Excellent reviews! Thanks. I have the Beginner's Guide. It is great because of the pictures, and the non-electric options. I always check out books from the library before buying. Some are great, and frankly, some are just dreadful!
Just got the Marone book thru your link...being new, photos will help me. Plan to get the ultimate book in the future. Again, thanks so much for your helpful review. Be safe!
Thank you so much for the information. I'm new to dehydrating, but believe that conditioning is ultra-important. Thanks and I'll be joining your FB group.
So I commented on a previous video saying I was struggling with dehydrating marshmallows... I went out today and purchased a few bags (different brand). I asked my google assistant " how do you dehydrate marshmallows?" and "she" replied: According to THE PURPOSEFUL PANTRY . COM ... I was like wait a minute, I know who that is! That was awesome 😊!
Dehydrating peas and riced cauliflower today. Got scammed on lids recently on amazon. Supposed to be USA made but were marked China when they arrived. I will not use these period. Thanks for this video.
Do you have a video explaining "conditioning"? I don't know what that is. I bought an Excalibur dehydrator 3 months ago, and it's still in the box. Thought I was ready to start dehydrating until you said conditioning was very important. Wait, what?
Thanks for showing the books!! I’m still new at dehydrating and my 1st and only book is ‘the ultimate dehydrator cookbook’. I love it!!! And have been wondering what other books I could use. So thank you for telling us the pro’s and con’s of each book:) The thing I don’t like about this book is that there is very little pictures in it. As a beginner it would of been great to know what things look like. Part of the reason I don’t dehydrate new things (things I’ve never done) is because I don’t know what I’m looking at the end result. If she did the same exact book and had pictures in it, lots of it, I would buy it! :) Good to know there are other great books out there! Thank you:)
I have Tammy’s book and the 3rd addition of Stocking Up. But I have 2 questions, neither of these mentions drying cilantro. Is this a herb that you should not dry? Also I am currently trying to dry fresh blueberries. So far they have been drying for over twenty four hours at 125 and they are still soft. I should have read the blueberry info in Tammy’s book. She said to blanch them which I did not do. Could this be the problem. Thank you
Cilantro is one of those herbs that people prefer frozen over dehydrated as it keeps more of it's flavor. I dry it - knowing I might need to use a little more in a casserole. I have limited freezer space and I'm not going to use some of that for cilantro. But you'll retain even more flavor to hang it. The skin on any berry needs to be broken - whether you blanch it,, hard freeze it, poke it or cut it in half. www.thepurposefulpantry.com/how-to-make-blueberry-powder/

The Purposeful Pantry thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions, much appreciated
Darcy, thank you for this helpful information. I’m new to dehydrating and have a question. What is conditioning?
It's the act of making sure your food is equally and fully dry - here's a video to explain: ruclips.net/video/4LSjwDHlwKE/видео.html
Thank you so much. Now I feel better about proceeding. I love dehydrating.
Interesting reviews! I'll have to add Teresa's and Caleb's books to my library (have the others already) :-)
Awesome!
Hi Darcy.
Hey, Teresa!
This was so helpful. Thank you.
