    For the noisy wing lift fans, you may be encountering some airflow interference between the five bladed prop and the five bladed support. As far as I know it's best to match "even to odd" with regards to supports to blades in fan applications.
    edit: 6 blades to 5 supports would probably be your optimal pairing.

    • @renerosentraeger
      @renerosentraeger  9 месяцев назад +7

      Fully agree. It's now changed to three stators for the five blade prop.

    I have had multiple twin EDF jets and when they create that weird harmonics, I take one and rotate the blades 180 degrees on 1 of the motors and see how it goes. Sometimes it takes so fine tuning.
    And if all else fails, I used a different EDF unit but same motor and same esc.
    Harmonics may not be the right term here but it's what I call it and this trick has worked.

    the inner fuselage walls you could thin them to the width of your pla nozzle and then put some diagonal holes in them to keep the structure and loose weight ... do the same for the wing root and fuselage join keep a thin wall but remove some middle material .... since two same thickness walls will meet you double the thickness ... if you have a 2mm head and make 4mm walls then you can save 50% of the wall by going to a 2mm wall in that spot... nice design ... looks like it will fly well too ...
    the reason why they dont always run together is because they have different inherent resistance and capacitance ... but they sync up over time like clocks do in a clock store ... you can adjust them with a trim pot so they have nearly the same values .... then its just a matter of fine tuning before each run so they run together from start up as often as possible ...
    .
    as for the main gear legs ... instead of adding a protrusion out the side .... bend the frame out to back stop the leg as the gear moves around it pulls a wedge forward pushing the body out to act as a door jamb for the leg ... you would drop the weight of the plug you print on by a lot because all you need is a rod and two connectors to attach the wedge and the gear pull ... added bonus you keep your aerodynamic design .... instant go faster smile ...

    This is completely bonkers. Well done.
    If I perhaps could make a suggestion it wold be to make a false nose on the air plane. I observed that they did that on those submarine jet ski dolphins that you can ride. They did that because sometimes when submarine dolphins jumps up and in of the water it can damage the nose. In there case they just swap the nose with a few screws.
    So in your case, print the nose in vase mode and have the real nose closer to the cockpit. Less weight and easier to repair. Just swap the nose.
    edit: What about wing tips?

    Nice work Renè! D ee here with a new login. I really like your version of the gasket box... dry box. The plane looks great and looks like it will fly like a dream after you get it dialed in. The only thing I would change are the louvers under the main lift fan. I think that a short gimbled in set ring similar to your thrust vectoring nozzles would save more weight and increase thrust by reduced drag. Also it would aid in the transition from VTOL to forward flight. It might also be possible to make it act like an air brake to help slow the plane for transition back to VTOL.
    Great video as usual. Keep up the great content!

    @SANTIAGOHISPANIORUM 8 месяцев назад +1

    Great job!. I like it. Great design and great model making. But don´t you think it would be very heavy and very complicate. It has too many engines and a lot of maintenance. You don´t need total vtol. Only one small engine in the gravity center to reduce the take off run to a few yards would be enough. It is just a suggestion. Also why not sliding slots instead of hinged ones. It is like you want to copy the F35 solution to open vents.

      Could a weight such as lead or brass be made so that it could be adjusted forward or back? Something like utilizing a servo to shift the weight on a lightweight track system? Could look into how CNC machines are so precise on positioning and incorporate that into what I am describing- or something like a gyro in a rc car- how the steering is manipulated to keep the car a certain direction except in this instance instead of steering, you are moving a weight forward or back.
