Nice review ! I’ve owned a few exhilarating Porsches from road going RS and GT cars to full blown track only Cup cars spanning 1974 to 2019. I can tell after only putting 400kms on my GT4RS that I already know this will be a keeper and amongst my all time favorite and definitely a full 10 for FUN
Great review,. Have mine almost broken in (935 miles) and am absolutely loving it so far. I'll probably never have the sound system on with all of those lovely wild noises right behind your head. It certainly gets much more attention then my 991.2 GTS which is not surprising at all. In the low key town of Madison WI, it does stick out and lots of phones are up snapping shots. I do prefer to daily my 911 GTS simply because it's a manual. That being said, this GT4RS with the PDK will be a nimble beast on the track. I'm actually looking forward to not having a manual on my track car. Can not wait to get it up to Road America this month and just let it run.
You were having a blast. I don’t have any issues with the wing blocking the rear view. It’s there but it doesn’t bug me. The only trade off with the GT4 RS is its suspension on bad houston roads, is too harsh. But on flat road, it’s awesome, so planted.
992 RS’s party trick is to dial down rebound and compression to -4 which makes it more compliant over bad roads than stiff normal mode or normal on GT3 and 4RS … that said you pay for it ; )
Incoming! I was sold on this purchase before seeing this One Mile Review. Your final thoughts confirm it was money well spent, thanks for sharing, Happy Trails!
Just came back yesterday from a 1000 mile break in road trip to France. What a machine. My point is that since you can legally drive on the motorways here in France/Belgium/Netherlands at speeds somewhere between 62mls/hour (Netherlands) and 80mls/hr the car can be driven at relatively low revs and is thus reasonably quiet. Of course, any acceleration or downshift changes that situation dramatically. I think your score is spot on. Nice video.
I have daily-driven one of these for 6 months. Every day. Commutes. Road trips. Everything in between. In normal mode, it’s a pretty smooth cruiser, and listening to music or podcasts is easy. And as long as you have front axle lift, it’s not a problem getting into and out of nearly any driveway or garage. Plus, it’s very practical with all the storage. Seriously, the car can be driven in a fairly tame way, if that’s how you make it. If this car is too hard for you, then you’re too soft! Lol 😅
What an unbelievable car! I'm hoping to hear from Vu soon regarding mine (PCA Raffle). Your review captured the excitement this car brings to the road. Well done!!

Only in a Porsche, where you do almost anything you want because they are hard to break. I have downshifted in the middle of a curve before, exciting 🏎
I’m planning on having both, I have a 2014 981 that I just can’t depart with, and we know how Porsche will build the electrified Cayman. We only live once🙏🏽🏎
you're asking the wrong question, would you rather a Gt4rs a 458, 991 GT3, 570s as the DNA along with price point are more closely aligned, enthusiast aren't interested in batteries that's a given.
Damon ....we put about 1500km touring Germany in our GT4RS. With considered throttle modulation the noise can be mitigated for long distance touring. The car does a slight understeer.
I agree , at the top of the rev range in 2nd, the engine screams like none I’ve ever heard before. Porsche really showed up and out with the last iteration of Cayman’s ICE. I have a 2014 Cayman and I have plans on getting the electrified Cayman💯🏎
Great review Damon. I watched the review initially with iPhone speaker then put in my earbuds and WOW epic flat 6 noise. At 9:14 top of 2nd gear is fabulous. If there's a road to Heaven you found it. Thanks again for super production on this video. ☘️
Nothing they can do about it. If anything , Porsche is the only company fighting against electrification and made a pledge to maintain the 911 on ICE for as long as feasible. They also kickstarted development and research into efuels to save ICE.
@@TornadoOfSouls777 That’s not how any of this works. The future of ICE has a large question mark. Every manufacturer regardless of EV sales will develop cars as a means to hone their skills for a possibility of an all electric market. EU laws mandate that by 2035, all cars sold must be electric, but Porsche is fighting this. At the same time, to hedge a bet that they’ll successfully and commercially supply the globe with E fuels or an alternative to electric cars is recklessly optimistic, regardless of how bad EV sales are.
The best ever Porsche thats a very tall order to tell ,so many great Porsche s were made. What a pity its going to be all electric .Its like eating a meal without a taste to it.

Great review. Thanks to the member for letting Damon do a review on this Cayman.

I liked the way you separately assessed the car as a daily driver and for road trips. Not everyone does that and it was useful.
Thanks! We assess Daily Driving and Road Trip separately on all of our One-Mile Reviews. Check out some of our other reviews if you like this one.
Let’s see which would I rather have: this masterpiece or the future all-electric version? Hmmm…tough choice.

"Downshift in the middle of a turn" - Is that the way you are supposed to drive - thought you are supposed to downshift before the turn?
I don’t recommend downshifting in a turn, but pdk doesn’t upset the balance of the car if you do.

More like 9…
Oh my hooly potato!
How in the world did you manage to get such a long stretch of road with no cars in the way?
Lucky. It was a Thursday evening around 7-7:30 PM
Did you think the carbon brakes were "squeaky" at the lower speeds? ... often the case in my experience. Great vid.
July 31st raffle is my only hope for owning one. 🤞
Rips?! Sure does! Daily driver? What is the cost per mile?
