Right? I swear, Viren would have said that he would sacrifice himself for Harrow if he had more time to speak, and Harrow was so harsh and mad at Viren that Viren didn’t get anchance to clarrify it

@@niftynotes5057 I'm at the end of the second season right now and I have to say...I don't think Viren is a dark character. Somehow he seems both mentally unwell and painfully aware of the fact that everything he does is just not enough while managing to be quite symphatetic. He's written intelligently. I really enjoy him.
Well, this is a show where a good/bad side doesn't exist, and many of the characters are a very interesting (uncommon) mix of traits that aren't usually put together in movies...So the fact that every character is engaging shouldn't be a suprise.
Just thought I would share.

I agree! I like how each character is morally gray, and how Viren does the wrong things for the right reasons. In his eyes, he is the hero of his own story so it makes you wonder... what makes a hero and hero and a villain a villain?
@@niftynotes5057 Before watching this show I'd propably say that a stereotypical hero is someone whose strength of will and courage allow him to find and execute solutions to problems that otherwise wouldn't be solved. He usually puts the interests of others before his own, even going as far as to sacrifice his life and happiness for the good of others (look Harry Potter for example).
But then...what happens to a hero who does everything right and is then villanised by the population and hated by his companions for things out of his control? When will turns to single-mindedness and courage to panic (because there are no longer any options or choices to be made) will he turn out to be...a Viren? Or does Viren have a fundamental flaw? The willingness to sacrifice other lives for the gain of his own people. The overwhelming curiosity to learn more? Which one will lead to his downfall?
This show really makes me think

Dude I think you described Viren perfectly. I recently realized that Callum kinda had the same dilemma in his fever dream when his “other self” told him that he could do good with dark magic and what’s the harm in it, but Callum rejected it and said that he will write his own destiny. Viren is an example of someone who did accept the darkness, but no matter what he did people wouldn’t listen and he succumbed to even darker magic in desperation... was that his destiny all along? How much free will do they actually have in the end of it all?
I’m also curious if Callum is a full human or not, after all we don’t know anything about his biological dad... also Callum was able to unlock sky magic with the cube that belonged to Aaravos, which we know can do all 6 primal sources... you think he will help Callum? Idk if he can even be trusted...
Sorry for the long rant, I’m just full of theories for this show I already saw it twice not including all the skimming I did to make the AMVs 😅
