First video that didn't skip over important stuff. Very clear. I believe the lug bolts are torqued at 140 ft lbs.

I've never seen anyone replace pads like this before. It looks like a real pita. Why not just pull the caliper pad housing off and do it the easy way?

I'm not a pro but I thought I push down on the bracket bolts? I know on the front driver side you push down and on the front passenger side you pull up lossen the bolts, is it the same for the rear? Like I said I'm not a mechanic but want to do my rear brakes/rotors on my 2017 chevy silverado.

How relevant is this video for someone needing to change the rear pads and rotors on a 2012 Chevy Express 2500 8 lug 9.5 rear end (14 bolts on diff cover)???

A Chevy truck is a Chevy truck. If it's disk brake, it'll be close to this, if it's drum brake, find another video (yours is disk). Chevy uses the montra, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it... Unless the government makes me change it."

POOR JOB: You did not bother to repair the axel seal leak even though replaced the brake pads and rotor put everything together even torqued everything but never adjusted the parking brake. Not much thought about SAFETY!

You're lucky if the parking brake isnt completely siezed on these trucks anyway. But true, you're going to want it to work well when your brake lines blow.

William Volkmann like a lug nut bolt or a caliper mounting bolt? I broke off a caliper bolt once and I went and bought a whole new caliper. Your only other option would be to drill the bolt out and re tap it, just put a thicker bolt in.

I just spent 3 hours out side with the caliper between 2 jack stands and beating on it with a mini sledgehammer to get apart, when you put it back together clean and never seize the pins

you say the gear oil leaking from the axle seal is not to to bad ??? so we are just going to let it go ??? WOW REALLY ??? those pads still have a lot of life in them. yes they are worn but still good to go another 5000 miles i think... with all the gear oil on the parking brake shoes they just won't hold the truck well. oil on brake shoes is a large safety issue you think ??? another thing you never never back feed brake fluid into a ABS system ever... it will plug up the tiny orifices in the ABS system this is the first thing you learn in Brake School hello... where did all the brake fluid go ???
