Thank you for also showing how to pick up when there are purls in the row. I didn't realize it was so simple as flipping the work over, ha ha! Facepalm moment!
Hi, great tutorial, thank you. But there is no need to frog or tink several rows down, just work the knitting to the level vertically above the mistake stitch, unravel all the stitches above the mistake and work the ladder back up again the right way for a knit or a purl. You can use a crochet hook to do so or just use your left and right needles. It's really not as complicated as you would think and helps you understand the different look between a knit and a purl stitch. Keep up the good work and thank you for taking the time! xx
How do you fix it if the stitches you messed up aren't just normal knit or Purl? For example I accidentally did a k2 where I was meant to do a RT and im worried how I can fix it
I’d so love to see this on video! I’m currently making a beanie and I noticed I fubbed it up pretty badly 4 rows down on multiple occasions. It’s a k1 p 1 pattern. I’m not sure how to “grab the right leg of a purl stitch… 😢
I have crocheted for years and it's easy to fix mistakes. I learned to knit but don't enjoy because I can't figure out how to fix problems. Thanks so much. Will try again.
This was super helpful. I'd not heard about the lifeline method, thanks! I'm knitting a baby blanket and made a few mistakes (which I rarely do) and have to frog several rows. The lifeline will be helpful because there are 130 stitches cast on!
This was super super useful. I´m a beginner with knitting and I had to destroy a double knitting projects because I did not manage to find the full row even though I came up myself with the idea of saving the 2 sides with a thread and passing through the knitting needle again, but I lost the edges and I decided to restart. But his idea of having a life line is really great!
Thank you so much for showing how to add a life line with a 2x2 rib stitch! You have saved me! I was on the last couple rows before starting my decrease and I am so happy I don't have to start all over! I will also be adding life lines from here on out! You have also saved my future projects! On a side note, I just can't seem to cable knit. Once I get a few rows in, I somehow start adding stitches. I have no idea how I am doing this, but any tips and advice would be absolutely amazing! Thanks again!
Brittany, someone is having troubles with a hole showing up in their knitting. I think it might be either that one stitch had too loose of a tension, or this person has accidentally picked up a stitch from the bottom of the row in between the stitches (like what you would do to do an increase) and ended up incorporated it into the row. Also a yarn over on the needle would cause a hole. Could you do a video on all of this? I know it's something I struggled with in my early knitting times. The accidental increase is something I will still do occasionally when I'm tired. It might help others identify what that strange thing was that happened to their knitting. Thank you 🤗
I had not knitted in 40 years and just took it back up and love it. The life line a a God send I use them all the time. The big problem I have tho is not anything to do with the life lines. I will find that sometimes I have a gap/hole in my knitting. It's not a dropped stick, at least I don't think it is. I will find one ever so often and they really stand out. I have fixed them with some yarn and tying them up a bit then weaving the tails of the pice of yarn I used to fix the hole/gap in to the knitting. Do you have any other (and maybe better ways) to patch up these strange holes/gaps? Any tips on preventing them would be great also :-)
I don't feel comfortable posting my email into social media, but both ideas I have that could be the problem would be good tutorials for Brittany. I'll ask her in a comment above.
@@kristopherwithakmichaels6549 I whole-heartedly suggest that you watch this other video for problems like that: ruclips.net/video/sjKdFg9AHXo/видео.html
Will a lifeline work the same in rib when on one row I knit into the back of the loop then in the next row I purl into the back of the loop? Thank you.
I have to remove about 5 rows of a baby blanket. The pattern is a series of knits and purls. I understand the lifeline but what do I do when I come to a series of 4 purls when inserting the lifeline? You mention you skip them in the video. Thanx!
Help!! I am knitting socks 2 at a time and I did a German short row heal. One turned out good the other not so much. I also made the body of the socks to short. How do I rip out the hills so I don't have a start all oner?
Hi I'm stuck. I'm knitting a blanket. The upper part is fine but the lower start is not. I'm too far with the knitting now and I want to correct it at the bottom. But have no idea without undoing nearly 1metre of knitting. Please help x🙏
December 19, 2022 I’ve been getting a lot of years however this is the first time I’ve ever encountered this I have a loop in the middle of a row and I cannot figure out how to get it out it doesn’t seem to work any advice? Thank you

O.M.G!! This works! I got so tired of starting over and over! This is such a blessing! Thank you for sharing this!

🤯totally mind blowing! Thank you for this info!
Thank you for this! I misread my pattern for a neckline and need to frog backwards quite a bit. This is better than reknitting the whole thing

I'm glad you found it helpful...even if a little too late for your other projects. It's a great skill to know! Totally changed my knitting life 🙃
Thank you for this tip❤
Great tip! I don’t knit much because it’s hard to frog. I will try this. Thank you so much for this great tip!
There is a much easier way. Watch this video for example: ruclips.net/video/-RmexrJRIDo/видео.html
OMG, you are awesome! I am new to knitting and was able to save my progress without having to frog the whole thing. Thank you so much 😊
That's awesome!! Glad I could help!
Very, very useful information!
Fab video clip. I learned something completely new. Thank you 😀👍
Thank you for this
Thank you so much! Wish I had seen this before my mistake!

Could it be a stitch that got knitted up looser than the other stitches? Without seeing your work, it's kinda hard to know what's wrong.
StormCaller5 I can email you a pic if that would be ok?

I am a self taught knitter, so there are a lot of mistakes and I usually un-work to correct a mistake, your tutorial has been a god send. Thank you
I am a self taught knitter myself, do you have any suggestions on taking the rows out without taking all the socks out? thanks in advance.

I need to correct K2T, YO several rows back. I‘ve unraveled the affected columns. Please show me how to fix it.
Watch this video for an example: ruclips.net/video/-RmexrJRIDo/видео.html
Oh I wish I knew this a month ago. Thank you. BTW. WHAT IS FROG.
How do I add lifeline I am lefthanded
I have about 300 sts on my needles for a shawl so I just fudged a fix and moved on. Far easier to embrace my mistake than try this 🤔
I don't knit, but this was very interesting.
Can't see video
