      craggyisland3 definitely, we could have done WAY better here in Turkey in 2004 but what do you know, TRT was given a limited budget and all the budget went to that ugly ass TRT skyscraper... Don’t say Turkey doesn’t have these effects because the movie Gora in 2002 had groundbreaking effects like 10 flying saucers. REAL ONES. Congrats Greece...

    Over the arctic circle (which goes trough Rovaniemi) it shines 24/7. The time gets longer when you go more north, but the whole summer in whole Finland is really bright 24/7. And yes there is period in winter when the sun doesn't rise at all, but it isn't just dark whole day.
    It isn't strange to me, cause i've lived my whole life in Finland. It would be weird for me if in summer the night would be dark.. :D And i would miss snow in winter if i'd live there!

  • @Miroysti

    In Finland, we all MOST learn finnish (which is one the hardest languages in the whole world, believe it's true. We have hundreds of versions just to one word) and swedish (which is quite easy, and our other official language). And also we must learn english, and it's quite hard to us cause we say ABC's differently than in english. I also study german. I think so too, people have to be friendly to each other, then everyone would be happier!

  • @hrkln
    @hrkln 12 лет назад +1

    English is not our native language and that's why we can't use it well. It's a way for people to communicate. If I had the time I would prefer to learn as many languages as I can. Sounds more interesting than just speaking in English with people from other countries. But it's a bit difficult. I am very happy that I see openminded people like you. It's good that we keep speaking and change our minds. People has to be friendly each other.

    I have already heard that Finnish people do not talk to strangers but when they meet somebody after a while they are getting very friendly. I have warm clothes because I have travelled a lot in North Europe but I believe that it would be nice to visit Finland in summer too. Everything is gonna be Green in the summer and maybe it will be good experience the swimming in some beautiful lake. From what I have seen the country seems to be really green during the summer.

  • @hrkln
    @hrkln 12 лет назад

    Exactly...-51. Very good for people leaving in -10 or -30 in the winter where the day is not more than 6 hours. Very nice to leave in a place where the winter's during is 200 days per year. Very nice to spend all of you time enclosed in your house because of the cold. Come here to see how the real life is.

  • @Miroysti
    @Miroysti 12 лет назад

    Yeah i know, but in Finland, most of the tourists go first to Helsinki and then to Lapland to some skiing-resort (Ruka, Kuusamo, Levi, Ylläs, Rovaniemi etc.). But it's quite easy to come to Ranua, come by plane or train to Oulu or to Rovaniemi and from there by bus to Ranua, the bus costs about 20 euros and train from helsinki 50 euros. :D Well in Rovaniemi there is northern lights but in Ranua only sometimes, they are awesome! :)

    We produce food too.. -.- The coldest TEMPERATURE that has been matured in Finland is -51,5... Don't tell me about Finland's temperatures. I live in Lapland, and here has never been over -36.. -.- And almost every winter there is only -10 to -30 degrees. And i meant that in most of the houses we have "ovens" so we can warm our houses without electricity.

    I think that Greeks are similar to Italians of the south.Greece is more similar to South Italy, Which part of Italy has your sister visited? You know Greece was under Venetians and Turkish many years so now there is a mix of culture, of food and the music. In music we are not so similar to Italians but the way of life is quite the same.

    And one thing that you absolutely MUST try, is sauna! And a real finnish sauna, not some stupid sauna in an apartment house, but a traditional sauna and then you must run naked to snow and jump there, that is what we finns do! We're quite weird people :D I was just in sauna and it was nice to go out after that cause there was -10 degrees. :)
