So many reactors miss the fact that, Shmi Skywalker said Anakin had no father, and then in Revenge Of The Sith, Chancellor Palpatine tells Anakin that Darth Pelages could create life…
You're doing a great job 👏. I think you should have lots more subs. Nice personality and great editing! Looking forward to your sequel trilogy reaction. 😀
Jade, u may like 2 know: Christopher Lee (Count Dooku) was 74 years old in this movie--but he was a master fencer and former champion who taught many Hollywood actors. As u saw, he was still very spry!! And Genral Greviuos barely made it out of the city with the emperor, because he had to fight off Asoka Tonno....his droids had to save his azz from being destroyed by her!! (Poor Anakin, Emperor played him like a fiddle)
We need to appreciate in the first 10 minutes R2 is just straight dropping bodies, one buzz droid with a head shot and burns two super battledroids to death, the clone wars have changed R2...
@@MovieJoob I know you are MovieJoob, so I don't know if you do TV shows. But the 2007 Clone Wars Movie is a movie, it was released in cinemas (it didn't do well). But try and check out some Clone Wars. Both series are great. The 2003 is an all action cartoon, but you do see some romantic scenes with Anakin and Padme. The 2007 has 7 seasons now so I recommend that you watch the first few and then ... I don't know, maybe one of us can recommend a selection that you should see. They are all good though not a bad one. There are sad ones like this movie. This movie (episode III) is the end of the Clone Wars. There is an episode where Anakin has to save R2D2. There is an ep where R2 and some other droids are sent on a mission. QTKT is a droid. Her name reminds me of a girl I knew who loved Star Wars. See this short video ruclips.net/video/8k63UbeXTLE/видео.html Clone Wars 😀
My ranking for the original six Star Wars films would be: 6) Attack of the Clones (7/10) 5) The Phantom Menace (8/10) 4) A New Hope (8/10) 3) Return of the Jedi (9/10) 2) The Empire Strikes Back (10/10) 1) Revenge of the Sith (10/10)
14:24 A bit of lore in this scene: the mural behind Palpatine depicts the Battle of Coruscant during the Great Hyperspace War. The Sith, at the height of their power, invaded the heart of the Republic, but failed to conquer the galaxy and destroy the Jedi. Almost 5,000 years later, and the Sith have finally succeeded...
13:40 Anyone can use a lightsaber... not everyone can use it proficiently, Grievous was trained by Dooku BUT not in the ways of the force, his skills were a mix between his expertise in combat and his cybernetic body, a bounty hunter named Cad Bane picked up one and used it briefly. ruclips.net/video/sISGRCgJDhA/видео.html
Palpatine always knew. So did Obi-Wan, Yoda & a good portion of the Jedi Order but they chose to stay silent because they say it made Anakin happy & that's what they wanted for him
Next "Rogue One," followed by "The Clone Wars," series. Watching the series will make the fall of Anakin and the btrayal of the clones even more tragic and will give you more of a punch.
C3PO gets his memory wiped, but R2 does not. From the time we meet him in the Phantom Menace on R2 never gets a memory wipe even though it’s a normal thing to do to droids in the Star Wars universe. The idea is that the longer a droid goes without a memory wipe the more they develop a personality and that isn’t considered a good thing for the most part. A droid that’s developed a personality might actually not do what it’s owner/master wants. We certainly see R2 making his own independent decisions on a number of occasions.
@@MovieJoob Well it's never been confirmed Artoo keeps the memories, but it's a long held fan theory. Lucas never says he was to be wiped, and he even bleeps when he sees Obi Wan has Anakin's lightsaber (presumably in recognition?) in his hut.
vader lost 2 legs and arm in this movie.. And the other movie before this he lost his other arm so he has no limbs that's why Darth Vader cannot use force lightning . The arm you see left is clearly robotic
Anakin didn’t go in a Bacta tank because part of him going in the suit in the first place was that sidious designed it to cause anakin constant pain and agony therefore increasing his connection with the dark side of the force. Also it made sidious able to install weaknesses in his suit in case he tried to kill palpatine.
Licensed fanfiction BS. Palpatine wanted Vader to surpass him. Anakin wasn't put in a bacta tank, because his condition was critical. Bacta increases the healing process many times over, but Anakin's lung was so badly burnt the pressure of being submerged in the stuff would've caused it to collapse.
@@VerebazsHe's not wrong and so are you. Sidious wanted to punish Vader for his failure by giving him a suit that will cause him pain that would also give him a more connection to the force. Sidious did many years later build Vader a better and powerful suit but Vader rejected it, saying it would be the suit that made him stronger not him. This pissed Sidious off as he wanted him to surpass as the Rule of Two. But at his current state he is only 80% of Sidious' power.
What we saw of Vader's surgery at the end is only the tip of the iceberg. The droids weren't allowed to use anesthetics because those could further weaken his already weakened force abilities, meaning except for whenever Anakin passed out from the pain, he could feel everything they did to him. That would include: Reconstructing part of his outer ear and inserting implants into his skull due to the damage to his inner ears, removing all the charred clothing and skin, reconstructing all the 3rd degree burn areas with synth skin (said synth skin had to be periodically scrubbed off and replaced and also itched incessantly), reconstructing the nerve endings on his left arm and both his legs to connect them to the prosthetics, grafting metal replacements into his shoulders and part of his spine to handle the intense weight that would be on him in the suit constantly, installing an artificial lung, heart, feeding tube and waste collector into his torso as well as connectors to the breast plate, used to control all these functions, which required partial removal of Anakin's rib cage and lastly a voice synthesiser that gave him the deep voice we know, because his own voice was nothing more than a whisper after everything he went through.
Of all this the most brutal and sad is when R2 sees his beloved master for the last time. And him henceforth always ignore when someone tells him to stay with the ship. This just brakes my heart
Definitely watch the Star Wars: The Clone Wars show (in chronological order). It is some of the best of Star Wars and provides the most expansion to the universe and fills in what happened between Episode II & III. Also obviously you get to see Ahsoka's story who may even become one of your favorite SW characters. Not to mention how it improves Anakins and Obi-Wan's stories.
Yes, Ahsoka is my favorite Star Wars character of all. Her arc of seeing the flaws in the Jedi order and having to make choices that are hard but are for her own integrity always impressed me.
17:45 The sheer genius of the Grand Plan. How do you ensure that every Jedi is killed, no matter where in the galaxy they are? Assign each and every one their own personal assassins... 💔
6:27 Anakin's reaction right here tells me exactly why Hayden Christensen was perfect as Anakin Skywalker. He conveys so many emotions in a single moment, without needing a single word.
"The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural." Gives me chills every time. Love that opera scene. Hey, Jade! Well, you got wise to Palpatine before the reveal but still had a great reaction! Lucas provided visual and vocal cues since "Phantom Menace" that Palpatine and Sidious were one and the same. Ian McDiarmid plays the Emperor in all the Star Wars films in which he appears. He's the one character having a total blast throughout the prequels because he's pulling everybody's strings! His seduction of Anakin is masterful. Chronologically, "Solo" is the next to see, then "Obi-Wan Kenobi", then "Andor", then "Rogue One", then "The Mandalorian" and "Book of Boba Fett" live-action series follow the Classic three, then the Sequel trilogy. I recommend you see the remaining films in chronological order to complete the Skywalker Saga. Afterwards or concurrently, go back to the live-action series, then the three animated series, "Clone Wars", "Bad Batch" and "Rebels". There are revelations in "The Mandalorian" and "Boba Fett" that will make you curious to see their origins in the animated shows afterwards. The absolute best line of the Prequel trilogy goes to Natalie Portman: "So this is how liberty dies...with thunderous applause." Wookiees live for hundreds of years! In "Revenge of the Sith", Chewbacca is 181 years old! It is a popular belief that Padme's life force was drained out of her and channeled into Anakin by Palpatine which is why her death and his re-birth are juxtaposed by Lucas. Therefore, Palpy is directly responsible for the death of the person he convinced Anakin he could save prompting his betrayal of the Jedi in the first place! A very cruel manipulation. One of the Jedi Order's problems is that they had become ossified by dogma and had lost touch with their true purpose. This made them vulnerable to manipulation by the Sith and blind to their own shortcomings. Iconoclasts like Qui-Gon sought esoteric knowledge beyond ordained teachings to plumb deeper truths and were viewed as troublesome for suggesting the Order had become complacent and stagnant. The knowledge Yoda imparts to Obi-Wan at the end is his discovery of the path to immortality. His spiritual journey is chronicled in the animated "Clone Wars" when Liam Neeson returns as Qui-Gon Jinn's spirit to instruct Yoda in the deepest mysteries of the Force. Jedi immortality manifests as the Force-ghosts you see in the Classic trilogy. This was an ability unknown to the Order until Qui-Gon contacts Yoda which is why there are no Force-ghosts in the Prequel trilogy. The Jedi are all but exterminated by Order 66 much like how the Knights Templar were rounded up on a single day, Friday the 13th, in October 1307, by order of the French King Philip IV in a series of coordinated, simultaneous arrests. Emperor Palpatine initiated a smear campaign to vilify the Jedi and expunged any mention of them from the historical record. Philip IV did the same to the Templars demonizing them with false allegations of larceny, murder, sexual perversion, sedition and Satanism that led to their mass burning at the stake with the blessing of the Papacy! Palpy achieved control of a galaxy with his scheme while Philip was simply dodging the crushing debt he owed the Order! The clones are tragic pawns in Palpatine's scheme. They were bred by the Republic and were loyal to their creators serving through thick and thin with their Jedi Generals. The animated "Clone Wars" does a magnificent job of individualizing the troopers. However, they were engineered with a fail-safe to force them to obey executive decisions without question. Initiating Order 66 flips the switch in their brains forcibly turning them against the Jedi whom they previously would have died for. It's a horrifying betrayal not least of which to the clones themselves. Although the Separatist leadership was led by Count Dooku, they weren't privy to the collusion between Dooku and Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Each Sith Lord led a faction in the Clone Wars to play both sides against each other creating chaos they could manipulate to their personal advantage! The populations of the worlds which aligned with one faction or the other truly believed in their respective causes which were socioeconomic and geopolitical. The layman had no idea he was just a pawn in Palpatine's grand scheme. With the Jedi exterminated, the greatest threat to his plan was taken off the board and he sent Vader to dispose of the Separatist leadership so he could consolidate power over the organizations they represented. The Separatist worlds relied on the support of those industries and institutions so those worlds would fall in line once those support systems were firmly in the Emperor's grip. The japor snippet pendant Amidala was buried wearing was the same one Anakin carved for her in "Phantom Menace". Senator Bail Organa orders C-3PO's mind to be wiped but R2-D2's CPU is left intact. Artoo REMEMBERS EVERYTHING!
I wholeheartedly agree, if the Jedi had been more understanding and accepting of Anakin than he wouldn’t have been more easily manipulated by Palpatine. Ultimately the Jedi failed Anakin just like they failed themselves and the average people of the galaxy. In the novel version of this episode Yoda admits that the fall of the Jedi is partially his fault because he didn’t allow the Order to change, to evolve, to undergo reforms. Two things had to happen either the Jedi had to change, and make reforms to their teachings and how they did things. Or the Jedi Order had to fall in order for a more improved Jedi Order to arise in it’s place. And because they failed to change their choices led to their downfall.
Nice reaction. A few more infos for you : - The reason Anakin survived on Mustafar and wasn't burned alive is that he tapped into the Dark Side to stay alive. - About his "surgery" : As punishment for his failure to kill Obi-Wan, Palpatine ordered that he would stay conscious during the entire process, which lasted for many hours and was excruciating and the pain would fuel his hatred, his connection to the Dark Side. - When she was buried, Padme was "disguised" as she would still be pregnant in order to hid the birth of Luke and Leïa to the Empire After this episode you can either watch Rogue One, which is set 20 years after, right before Episode IV or start the brand series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, only the 2 first episode have been published, others will follow, once per week every wednesday and it's set 10 years before after this movie.
The surgery part is purely speculation right? Where is it stated? I found official material saying that "After two days of nonstop labor, he was finally sealed within his new armor.", but nothing about this "punishment", and although it may be true, it is but a assumption. Or is it?
The Jedi teachings on attachment are frequently misunderstood. Clearly even the greatest Jedi have friends and people they care for, and feel pain at their death. Yoda outright tells Chewbacca he will miss him. The point of the Jedi teachings is not to give these feelings power, accept that sometimes you lose people and can’t do anything about it, and let them go when it’s time. To remember the good they did and draw strength from the memory their time in your life, rather than let their absence cripple you emotionally. And not to be afraid of losing the people you still have, just focus on what needs to be done and accept that loss is part of life and worrying about it will only make things worse. Jedi are expected to act with compassion for ALL, not obsess over the people important to them. All this is very hard to do of course which is why Jedi are trained to do it from birth and why the Council thought Anakin was too old. It’s also worth understanding that this isn’t abstract philosophy; this is what centuries of experience have taught the Jedi is the most effective way to use the Force without falling to the Dark Side and becoming a monster.
That is very true. Being trained from pretty much birth would strengthen that ability!! I just feel the average adult human cannot simply will themselves to not be attached to another or fear a loved ones death.
@@MovieJoob Yup, that’s correct. The Jedi never intended their teachings as a way for ordinary people to live their lives; it isn’t a moral or religious code. It has to be understood in context of being a methodology to safely use the incredible cosmic powers some people have without turning into a psychopathic rage beast. So it has very harsh demands that nearly all Jedi were largely able to meet, again, due to having been prepared for them since birth.
I am not going to disagree with what you have written, but I must say that training humans to be hard hearted warriors when they are little children is a bit "Spartan". The Spartans would leave a boy in the cold of winter to survive on their own. Luke's uncle Owen kept Luke away from it. Owen was not Anakin's half brother. His dad married Ani's mother. They were not blood related. Anakin's father was a mystery, episode III hints that it was Darth Plagueis the wise with the use of the Force. I still like to think that Anakin's mother just didn't want to give any credit to the man who left her alone with a baby. Besides, why should I listen to Sidious he's evil. LOL
If anything your observations raise the inconsistencies in the Script(s) that gave rise to the fans arguing about the merits (and deficits) of Jedi philosophy. Yoda tells Chewbacca he will miss him; yet explicitly instructs Anakin to not miss loved ones. The Jedi constantly preach against attachments, but establish “Force bonds” between padawans and their masters; moreover, the Jedi council were clearly quite attached to their Order. Many Jedi apologists in the fandom will argue that the Jedi were anti-slavery and only refused to take hard stands against slavery within the Republic (and in the Rim, for that matter) because “that would be too political”; yet they willingly led enslaved soldiers (clones) into battle for the Republic against Separatist forces. Sure, many (not all) sought to preserve the humanity and individualism of the clones (notably Plo Koon, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Alaya Secura, Shaak-Tii, and obviously Anakin … and very likely Kit Fisto, based on his personality makeup), but they still were willing enablers of their use (and ongoing production). Yes, these are hard existentialist challenges. I’m hardly a pro-Sith apologist (I’m more interested in other fringe light-side philosophies/religions in the greater Star Wars universe). But probably because I deal with real-world trauma survivors, I cringe at the notions that love bonds will inevitably lead to selfish attachments; or that grief was something to be stifled (as opposed to processed through); or that Jedi DEtachment practices never contributed to the rise of the Dark Side. Apathy is just as dangerous as hatred and unfettered fear; and conversely, pain is a natural part of the healing process.
@@rivendells_shona I feel that it’s less inconsistent scripts and more people trying to discern a very complicated credo from dialogue that often has little context. I’m the first to say that the prequel Jedi screw up... Yoda himself admits this during the era of the Empire... but not so much because of their creed as from an inability to realize they’re departing from it. The Order becomes such an arm of the Republic that they put their duty to it above the will of the Force and the Jedi Code, and act out of fear of what the Sith will do to it if not stopped. Thus they lead armies of genetically modified slave soldiers against the Separatists, something they never would have done had they put the Code first. They become generals, peacekeepers, and diplomats first and Jedi second, and that’s what leads to their downfall. Just as in RotJ Luke only triumphs when he reaches the point where he’s willing to say ‘I don’t care I I lose, I don’t care if you win, I’m a Jedi and I’m going to act like one and not compromise what I believe to defeat you.” And your real-world experience aside, again, the Jedi methodology is not intended for ordinary people or as a recipe for happiness or an ideal life. It is a set of practices designed to keep the user from being corrupted by the vastly powerful cosmic Force that twists people’s minds and turns them into psychopathic monsters if they screw up. The Jedi didn’t invent the Force, Force bonds, how the Force works, etc. They just have to deal with it as it is, and this is the most reliable way they’ve found.
I really appreciated how the RUclips channel "Cultured Bubble" watched the movies for the first time in number order from 1 to 6. And I am now a convert that I think it works better that way. Lucas had always said this was the story of Anakin, in dealing with grief and being corrupted and his eventual redemption. So when Cultured Bubble watched it, she was only vaguely aware of the name of Darth Vader. But in watching the prequels first, it was a GIANT shock in episode 3 as she finds out that Anakin becomes Vader!
you have a point there, but then she didn't have the shocking moment in Episode 5 "I AM YOUR FATHER" which, I guess since everyone kind of knows about that twist it's not as big as, for instance, when I first saw it.@@whoarocket
I know this video is a couple weeks old. But Please, please, please check out the video "Duel of the Fates Explanation by Dave Filoni" It's exceptional and helps to expand the universe even more. I would have left this comment on your recent Obi-Wan video, but I felt leaving it here was more fitting. Love the reactions, can't get enough.
Grievous was once a great warrior, he was a being, but eventually he became cyborg like. I forget how/why though. Also R2D2 NEVER had his memory erased so he remembers everything from episode 1 to episode 6 and beyond when he's with Luke.
Dooku and Sidious came to him to turn him into a killing machine so he could get his revenge against the Jedi (in a nutshell his world was being invaded, his people killed and/or enslaved and he tried to get assistance from the Republic and they rejected him, so he took it on himself, the invaders complained to the Republic and the Jedi came to stop him, thus his hatred of Jedi)
07:54 Hi Jade, many think so too -- you should look up the RUclips video "The Case Against The Jedi Order" by Pop Culture Detective. He makes a really good analysis of these kinds of dogmas of the Jedi religion.
Ep. III has the best climactic lightsaber duel in ALL of Star Wars. Best visual/audio effects, best musical score and best fight choreography. Also, Boga (the creature Obi-Wan rides while chasing General Grievous throughout Utapau) is a species called a Varactyl.
Revenge of the Sith is easily my favorite out of this trilogy. So much happens and you really see the metaphorical bridge that connects from here to episode IV, despite the time jump. Also if you guys are still trying to figure out the uploading the entire video, I think Patreon may be your way to go. It stinks because it would be behind a pay wall but you could charge $1
I really enjoyed this one! And yes! We definitely have been leaning toward something like Patreon and we'll for sure make an announcement once we have that ready to go for the full length episodes! 😊
A few years ago a friend told me about Star Wars The Third Gathers: Backstroke of the West. You guys should check it out if you're looking for some good laughs it's freaking hilarious haha. Apparently some guy had a Chinese version of this movie that had the subtitles translated from English to Chinese, and then back to English. The subtitles were so comical that someone made an entire overdub of the whole movie and you can find it on RUclips lmao.
3:00 Grievous is a combination of mechanical parts and living tissue, a cyborg rather than a full fledged droid. He was originally a Kaleesh, a very flammable reptilian species. 4:52 This line "His fate will be the same as ours" is very interesting. All 3 characters in this scene died on a Death Star. 12:54 It's a varactyl, one of my favorite Star Wars creatures. 13:45 That's why Obi-wan wins. His advantage is the Force, which Grievous -- even though he's not a droid -- cannot sense. 23:41 Fun fact: This was the first Star Wars movie with a PG-13 rating.
with yoda telling anakin he was telling him to let the emotions flow through him and let them pass not for them to control him but what happens is he allows his emotions to control him which leads to his down fall
14:41 How does he know? He helped set them up, Jade! Remember Return of the Jedi: "The Emperor knew as we did, that if Anakin ever had any offspring, they would be strong in the Force..."
15:20 -- "So uncivilized." Homage to Ben's line in Ep4 New Hope: "Your father's light saber. This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster. An elegant weapon for a more civilized age." I feel the similarly about a revolver (legal in America) in this day of automatics (also legal in America). Not dissing the latter; just respecting the former.
American gun laws are ridiculous. The weapons in Star Wars make more sense than America. In Tatooine it is far from the usual reach of the Republic / Empire. (Stormtroopers were there to look for the pair of Rebel droids) Tatooine was like the "Old American West". The wild wild west. Obi Wan talked about a more civilized age. A society where people have access to assault rifles does not appear to be civilized. In ancient Rome the city could not be entered by persons carrying weapons, unless they were a bodyguard. When Obi Wan Kenobi said it was a more civilized age he meant that the Jedi, who were like the Police, had the power. Lightsabers are not like revolvers. More like a sword. Swords, revolvers, machine guns were all military technologies at one time "cutting edge" technology. After Samuel Colt invented the revolver it was used by the U.S. military to win the Mexican War. [Samuel Colt was born in Hartford, Connecticut (1780-1850)] Jet Fighters, stealth Fighters, drones are the current. If I lived in America I think I would get a gun, it's legal and others seem to have them. I am in Australia, the Police would probably take my Megatron toy if I showed it too them. Your president Biden is currently talking to the New Zealand Prime Minister about gun control. New Zealand is a peaceful country but there was one bad incident with a military style assault on civilians. One guy was able to kill 50 people and he live streamed it and they started showing it on tv. I didn't like our former PM, but he got it off the TV and criticized the online platforms. The Australian government then started making legislation to prevent it, the live streaming, not massacres. Just think about ancient Rome. They had the army outside the city. Only guards have weapons. Obi Wan was like this, he could see that when he was young the Old Republic days were the more civilized time. Us old guys get like that after a certain age. lol I'm Australian but I love America. I have never been there but I have love and respect for your country and all of its people. You have given the world so much. The Apollo Program. Voyager 2. Jersey Shore. just kidding. Star Wars. Thank you America. Thanks for saving my country in WWII. And in doing so making Australia less racist. During WWII Australians (one city) banned U.S. GI's that were black from going to public places. General MacArthur objected.
@@berranari1 Machine guns are not readily available in the United States. That mistake means I don't have to even seriously read the rest of your post.
@@TommygunNG I am sorry, please do read it as it ends a lot better than it began. I am glad to hear that machine guns are not legal, I will edit that out.
7:55 that I believe is one of the reasons why they start Jedi training younger then Anakin did. Because your more susceptible to learning about control. Though I'm not saying It's not perfect of course.
Common misconception: General Greivous is not a droid. He is a Kaleesh that has received an enormous amount of cyberware. Master Windu injured him in the Clone Wars and damaged his capacity to breath, so he coughs periodically. Also, anyone can use a lightsaber, but Jedi learn to use the Force to augment their abilities with such weapons. Palpatine was responsible for Anakin's nightmares, all of them. Palpatine always looked like he does at the end, but was using Foprce obfuscation to hide his appearance. You can hear his real voice come through here and there. "Do it." "I am the Senate." The dark side of the Force has long since corrupted his flesh. The Prequels are largely underrated. This was the best of the three.
15:59 Everyone expected Palpatine to break out the lightning instead of a lightsaber. Who knew a lightsaber would make Darth Sidious *more* terrifying?!?
What's even more terrifying is the fact that Palpatine despises lightsabers, believing himself to have grown beyond the need for them, and only uses them in order to mock the Jedi and his other enemies. Besides, he knows that he's way more powerful using just the Force anyway. So whenever you see Palpatine/Sidious using a lightsaber, you know he's not even trying his hardest.
They did not use any pain medication or numbing agents because Palpatine wanted Anakin to go through the pain to further his connection to the dark side. Through that pain Anakin gained more anger and rage, thus furthering his connection to the dark side. Also Vader's suit was made with out of date parts to help ensure that Vader was less capable of overthrowing the emperor and this suit also would snag and rub against his burned skin for the rest of his life, thus making Anakin/Vader always be in pain and anguish. Under the suit Anakin never stopped morning over the loss of his wife, his friend (Obi-Wan) and kids (Luke & Leia); which he didn't know survived or that there was 2 of them. However, Vader, under the suit was always filled with anger and rage over all of Anakin's losses and only sought revenge against Obi-wan, the Jedi, the Emperor, and anything that tied him to Anakin. Vader wanted to erase Anakin completely. Hope that makes sense.
I believe at some point, the Emperor offered Vader the opportunity to upgrade his suit further, but Vader refused, as he saw the wisdom in his Master's idea of drawing power from the pain that his suit gave him. Regardless, Vader would've never been powerful enough to match Sidious, even if he was equipped with the most advanced technology in the galaxy.
When Mace Windu and the others went to arrest Palpatine they weren't trying to overthrow the Republic. They were trying to save the Republic from the Sith which had been behind the war in the first place. The Jedi were told during the last movie, by Dooku, that the Senate was under control of the Sith, but they didn't believe it. It wasn't the Jedi's fault they didn't know this, as Yoda had said previously, the dark side of the Force clouded their ability to see the future.
I love your honest reactions! 💯% agree..epic but dark af! Jade, have you ever watched “Breaking Bad”? Also you should get a Patreon account going to support the channel.
I'm so glad you enjoyed!! I have not ever watched breaking bad. And yes we are definitely working towards a Patreon or something for everyone to watch the full video reactions along with me! 😊
@@MovieJoob Cool..you will do well with Patreon I’m sure of it. I think you’d really dig Breaking Bad…some of the best acting I’ve ever seen! The way the show writers and director put it together is pure perfection. 10outof10 ..don’t miss it 👍
It's actually funny that you said why didn't they put him out when they were operating on Anakin its because The Emperor did that on purpose to help push Anakin to the darkside more through his agonizing pain
@@MovieJoob yeah and what's even more messed up is that Darth Vaders suit also pained him to wear, The Emperor purposely had the suit be so uncomfortable to wear that it made Vader even angrier like his breathing would keep him awake all the time, the panel on his chest would blink for no reason, and his suit would snag on his burned flesh. The Emperor also had the suit be purposely weak to electricity if Vader ever failed him
Star wars : Revenge of the sith , best movie by far and ever in star wars trilogy . It's still one of my fav OG movies . Loved your reaction to it . This is an important movie in star wars timeline because after this there are many things branching out from this. Important events were ofcourse the death of padme , Darth Vader born , ORDER 66 ...i hope that this is also your all time best star wars movie.
I like how Anakin says to Palpatine "his fate will be the same as ours" when he tells him to leave Obi-Wan. All three of them dies on a Death Star lol. :) I always thought that was a really neat.
Well Palpatine not completely died, he cloned himself so his soul returned into new body. Sith cannot become ghosts like jedi but can bond themself to objects and stay that way. One ancient sith nearly overtaken Vader's body when he found his helmet.
When you threat national hero and one of most popular people in the Republic who also a Chosen One as noob and too inexperienced to be respected - that not gonna end good.
Theoretically, anyone can use a lightsaber, but unless you are a Jedi or a droid, there is an extremely high chance of you hurting yourself if you try. Lightsaber wielding droids are occasionally used for training purposes, but are VASTLY inferior to a Jedi. That said, overwhelming speed and aggression is sufficient to overwhelm the defenses of all but the most skilled of duelists. Kenobi in particular is the undisputed master of defensive lightsaber tactics, which is why he does so well against far more aggressive opponents.
If you plan on watching The Clone Wars (which is excellent), please do it by following the chronological order list and not the release order (season 1,2 etc…), otherwise nothing makes sense
We finally got to see Padme's father in a movie, but it was at his daughter's funeral, sad. Graeme Blundell plays him. Jade should see the deleted scenes from Episode II. Claudia Karvan plays her sister. She tells Anakin that Padme has never brought a boyfriend home before. LOL so funny. ruclips.net/video/rgDgXkczRQE/видео.html 😀 There is even a scene with Mr. Amidala and Anakin. That's Luke's grandfather talking to his father. So cool. They are chatting outside while Padme is inside with her mum and sister.
1:00 Best opening to a Star Wars movie. 5:51 Obi-Wan has the best one-liners. 13:03 He said it! Probs my favourite meme. 13:56 He's a cyborg. 15:30 Another meme worthy line. 17:46 Execute Order 66! 18:28 That face. Appropriate reaction. 20:14 My favourite line of the film. "So this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause." 24:17 Visually stunning. 25:30 It's so emotional I cry. Especially when you know even more about their relationship from the Clone Wars. 27:26 Iconic.
It'll take some time to get through, but I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend going through the Clone Wars and Rebels animated series. Clone Wars fills in the massive gap of time that occurs between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. It greatly expands on Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship, introduces another one of the most beloved characters in all of Star Wars, and has a ton of surprises. Likewise, Rebels fills in the gap between the end of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope where you get to see the early days of the Rebellion. You can either go through Clone Wars episode by episode (again it will take some time as there is a TON of content) or you can go online and find "essential episode" lists if you just want to know the basics. As for Rebels, I'd say just go ahead and watch the entire series as is. It is much shorter than Clone Wars (still 4 full seasons). Loved your reactions to the films (it's always fun to see somebody get into this massive universe for the first time). Can't wait to see you, hopefully, continue your Star Wars journey!
A seriously heartbreaking ending! Now it's time to head over to Disney + and catch the new "Kenobi" show that bookends perfectly with this film. Great vid!
@@MovieJoob The whole recap at the beginning of Ep.1 is a beautifully edited "primer" of the 3 films you just watched. Some little Easter eggs might slip past you.....but you can't go wrong with this show.
I laughed when Jade said "I just find it so messed up Like seeing a mother." then she weeps a little and says "Obviously it's fake" lol. Some good genuine reactions here that were a lot of fun to see.
Palpatine to Anakin about Count Dooku: “He’s too dangerous to be left alive.” Mace Windu to Anakin about Palpatine: “He’s too dangerous to be left alive.” If both sides are equally morally bankrupt, choose the side that can give you what you want.
I hope it doesn't get too silly but I can post now that personal anecdote: I was in a video shop, it was 2005, when someone came in and started talking to the video shopper telling him: "Do you know what I just figured out! The boy in SW Episode I is Darth Vader!" and I couldn't help but thinking "you must be about the last man on earth or so to figure that out!" (you don't enter a place and talk about Star Wars unless you are at least a little involved with it). I also has this thought: "I better not tell him that Palpatine, Darth Sidious and The Emperor are all the same person, this guy could have a "short circuit"!"
Also, I sort of agree with what you said about it not being cool that they teach to let go of loved ones. Luke Skywalker agreed, too, which is why his new order allowed marriage. The reason the old order was so strict is because of how powerful jedi can become, and because they knew what kinds of horrible things can be done by fallen jedi/dark jedi.
"I feel like its selfish to do these teachings, don't feel this, let go of that" That is the point of the Jedi knight unfortunately. It is supposed to resemble monks for example. To be a "perfect" jedi one must not have any emotional ties to anything or anyone so that it cannot be used against you or corrupt you to the dark side. That's why they said baby anakin was already "too old" because he had that attachment to his mother already. Most jedis in training are usually "taken" at a young age to start their training at the youngest age possible. So you are right it is unfair but thats where anakin messed up to begin with and fell in love
Obi-Wan's plan to attack Grievous comes from several previous encounters (detailed in The Clone Wars TV series). The two basically became longtime rivals, and even Obi-Wan's introduction with "Hello there" is referencing when Grievous said the same thing in an early episode of TCW. Also, Obi-Wan was comfortable jumping down there where he was surrounded by hundreds of battle droids because he knew Grievous and that he would want to fight Obi-Wan in single combat.
Thank you very much for sharing your reactions with us Jade! this movie always makes me cry T-T I recommend you watch a video on youtube called "Before the dark times" complements well what Obi wan felt
The parallel of Vader and Padme on the bed at the end, Padme giving her life for the life of 2 others & Anakin Skywalker's life ceases to exist and the life of Darth Vader rises! The yellow eyes are from the dark side of the force & the dark side is fueled by pain, hate, anger, sadness, all of which he felt during the Jedi Temple, knowing what he must do to his fellow Jedi to gain access to these 'dark side powers' the act of doing so tortures his soul, but he does it anyway, all for one of the greatest positive emotions: Love. The Dark side also help you cling to life when near death, because when you are in such pain and agony as Anakin was, more of the dark side is used to keep you alive. great reaction i loved watching this entire reaction series & the Clone Wars is a much watch to really see how emotional & tragic Order 66 was with the Clones. after Clone Wars, this movie should be watched again.
Btw Grevious isn’t a droid! He’s basically an alien species who was repaired as a cyborg after his injuries from another story that’s not really apart of this movie franchise
Or Anakin told him about his fear just off screen. They were friends. Also Prophets of the Dark Side could predict this so Palpatine could actually know how that will happen.

Palpatine to Anakin: "They don't trust you."
Mace to Anakin: "-you will have gained my trust."

True! He clearly didn't have the Jedi council's trust!

6) Attack of the Clones (7/10)
5) The Phantom Menace (8/10)
4) A New Hope (8/10)
3) Return of the Jedi (9/10)
2) The Empire Strikes Back (10/10)
1) Revenge of the Sith (10/10)

Your acting like the kenobi series isn’t out
C3PO gets his memory wiped, but R2 does not.
Omg thats so cool I actually love that!!
Yeah it's crazy that's why I didn't expect the legs to be cut as well! 😶 I feel it also symbolises his loss of humanity.
That is so messed up but it makes sense! Anger, pain, fear, they're all things that make a sith more dangerous.
I thought it was just a case of Anakin being far beyond a Bacta tank. He was seriously messed up.
That makes sense.
For what I love in this movie is the "Execute Order 66" and Palpatine declares "The Galatic Empire" with thunders of applause.
It's so wild when you know what it ultimately becomes! Such intense moments.
Me too.
What we saw of Vader's surgery at the end is only the tip of the iceberg.
The droids weren't allowed to use anesthetics because those could further weaken his already weakened force abilities, meaning except for whenever Anakin passed out from the pain, he could feel everything they did to him.
That would include:
Reconstructing part of his outer ear and inserting implants into his skull due to the damage to his inner ears, removing all the charred clothing and skin, reconstructing all the 3rd degree burn areas with synth skin (said synth skin had to be periodically scrubbed off and replaced and also itched incessantly), reconstructing the nerve endings on his left arm and both his legs to connect them to the prosthetics, grafting metal replacements into his shoulders and part of his spine to handle the intense weight that would be on him in the suit constantly, installing an artificial lung, heart, feeding tube and waste collector into his torso as well as connectors to the breast plate, used to control all these functions, which required partial removal of Anakin's rib cage and lastly a voice synthesiser that gave him the deep voice we know, because his own voice was nothing more than a whisper after everything he went through.
Of all this the most brutal and sad is when R2 sees his beloved master for the last time. And him henceforth always ignore when someone tells him to stay with the ship. This just brakes my heart
Oh so you're just gonna go and break my heart too by telling me this 😭
Just kidding thank you for telling me this I love it and it hurt ma heart
Definitely watch the Star Wars: The Clone Wars show (in chronological order). It is some of the best of Star Wars and provides the most expansion to the universe and fills in what happened between Episode II & III. Also obviously you get to see Ahsoka's story who may even become one of your favorite SW characters. Not to mention how it improves Anakins and Obi-Wan's stories.
I definitely plan to! I've heard amazing things about the show!
The absolute best line of the Prequel trilogy goes to Natalie Portman: "So this is how liberty dies...with thunderous applause."
Wookiees live for hundreds of years!
Artoo REMEMBERS EVERYTHING!
not reading that essay.
A few more infos for you :
- The reason Anakin survived on Mustafar and wasn't burned alive is that he tapped into the Dark Side to stay alive.
- About his "surgery" : As punishment for his failure to kill Obi-Wan, Palpatine ordered that he would stay conscious during the entire process, which lasted for many hours and was excruciating and the pain would fuel his hatred, his connection to the Dark Side.
- When she was buried, Padme was "disguised" as she would still be pregnant in order to hid the birth of Luke and Leïa to the Empire
After this episode you can either watch Rogue One, which is set 20 years after, right before Episode IV or start the brand series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, only the 2 first episode have been published, others will follow, once per week every wednesday and it's set 10 years before after this movie.
That is so interesting and messed up! I definitely think Obi-Wan Kenobi is next up! 😊
The surgery part is purely speculation right? Where is it stated? I found official material saying that "After two days of nonstop labor, he was finally sealed within his new armor.", but nothing about this "punishment", and although it may be true, it is but a assumption. Or is it?
Plus, Making had to survive being burned alive in order to become the badass villain we all know and love.
Just as in RotJ Luke only triumphs when he reaches the point where he’s willing to say ‘I don’t care I I lose, I don’t care if you win, I’m a Jedi and I’m going to act like one and not compromise what I believe to defeat you.”
And your real-world experience aside, again, the Jedi methodology is not intended for ordinary people or as a recipe for happiness or an ideal life.

Literally everything you say to Yoda is a path to the dark side 😂
**puts milk in my tea**
Yoda: "milk is the path to the dark side"
Hahahaha exactly! That's just gon make someone want to rebel!!
"Milk turns sour. Sour milk leads to disgust. Disgust leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."
with yoda telling anakin he was telling him to let the emotions flow through him and let them pass not for them to control him but what happens is he allows his emotions to control him which leads to his down fall
14:41 How does he know? He helped set them up, Jade!
Remember Return of the Jedi: "The Emperor knew as we did, that if Anakin ever had any offspring, they would be strong in the Force..."
"Only a sith deals in absolutes."
That is an absolute, which means Obi Wan is a sith.
I... omg hahahahhaha
@@MovieJoob Which means he was fighting Anakin, not because he betrayed the jedi, but to enforce the rule of two.
Why does everyone say this? Obi wan isn’t dealing in an absolute, he did state but that’s not the point
...And now, you're ready for the Obi Wan series! Well done and loved the reaction! 🎉🎊✌☺
Before the Obi-Wan series it would help to watch The Clone Wars and Rebels but yes, I would love to see you watch it.
I mean sure, if by ready you mean skipping a significant portion of the story, then yeah sure.
Rouge One, then Clone Wars the Rebels
So excited to watch Obi-Wan Kenobi! I do think I'll watch it next since Clone Wars will take a much longer time!
15:20 -- "So uncivilized."
Homage to Ben's line in Ep4 New Hope: "Your father's light saber. This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster. An elegant weapon for a more civilized age."
I feel the similarly about a revolver (legal in America) in this day of automatics (also legal in America).
[Samuel Colt was born in Hartford, Connecticut (1780-1850)]
Jet Fighters, stealth Fighters, drones are the current.
Us old guys get like that after a certain age. lol
I'm Australian but I love America.
@@berranari1 Too late. You lost your cred.
@@TommygunNG I will survive somehow.
"Only the Sith deal in absolutes."
Sounds like an absolute statement. Something you want to tell us about, Ben?
It was never confirmed Palpatine was causing his nightmares. Don't act like theories are fact.
13:14
me, before Episode III: "'General Grievous'? How could a *droid* kill a Jedi?!?"
me, now: "How could a *Jedi* kill a droid?!?"
10outof10 ..don’t miss it 👍
Watching Star Wars prequels in 2022 is just a bunch of "oh thats where that meme comes from" realizations 😄😄😄
Literally!!!! The amount of memes I have just discovered the origin of is wild 😂😂😂
No. Only the Protocol Droid aka C3PO. His mind or memory was wipe clean, not R2D2's.
I love how you incorporated so many of the memes lmao
Hahaha I finally discovered their origins!
It's actually funny that you said why didn't they put him out when they were operating on Anakin its because The Emperor did that on purpose to help push Anakin to the darkside more through his agonizing pain
So messed up but that makes sense since pain, fear and anger lead to strengthening the connection to the dark side!
The Emperor also had the suit be purposely weak to electricity if Vader ever failed him
Good reaction👌
Buena reacción
Thank you so much!
I loved this movie so much! It was very heartbreaking for me but it was epic and emotional and brilliant!
The worst thing is that if the jedis had trusted Anakin more, he probably would not have decome a sith.
It’s really nice to see the younger generation still discovering the magic of Star Wars. Good stuff.
I'm finally experiencing the magic and I love it!! 🥺😊
LOL so funny. ruclips.net/video/rgDgXkczRQE/видео.html 😀
There is even a scene with Mr.
"So this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause."
24:17 Visually stunning.
25:30 It's so emotional I cry. Especially when you know even more about their relationship from the Clone Wars.
27:26 Iconic.
“I have waited a long time for this moment my little green friend.”
Such an epic moment!
Great vid!
So sad and impactful!! I am definitely going to watch the Obi Wan Kenobi show next! I'm told it directly fits after this movie!
@@MovieJoob The whole recap at the beginning of Ep.1 is a beautifully edited "primer" of the 3 films you just watched. Some little Easter eggs might slip past you.....but you can't go wrong with this show.
@@MovieJoob that’s right.
@@MovieJoob you are goated for this💯🙏
I laughed when Jade said "I just find it so messed up Like seeing a mother." then she weeps a little and says "Obviously it's fake" lol. Some good genuine reactions here that were a lot of fun to see.
Aww hahaha I'm glad it's been fun!! I'm loving watching these with you all! 😊
You should watch the 2003 Clone Wars miniseries. Genndy Tartakovsky being a genius like always.
Palpatine to Anakin about Count Dooku: “He’s too dangerous to be left alive.”
Mace Windu to Anakin about Palpatine: “He’s too dangerous to be left alive.”
If both sides are equally morally bankrupt, choose the side that can give you what you want.
Fun fact, the reason artoo is so special and so badass is because he is the one narrating the overall story!
Anakin Just Pulled Out the youngling Slayer 9000 on the young longs and started Slaying them
"I feel like its selfish to do these teachings, don't feel this, let go of that"
That is the point of the Jedi knight unfortunately.
So you are right it is unfair but thats where anakin messed up to begin with and fell in love
awesome! I can't wait to see your reaction to the Sequel trilogy (7, 8, 9)
Only C-3PO had his mind wiped. R2D2 remembers everything
21:05 "No one having a good time." I do not agree...you are having a good time, even best time, you watch the best part of prequel trilogy!
Would be a bit sad if Grievous just order droids to shoot.=)
"Can droids get sick?"
Grievous isn't a droid, but a cyborg.
Thank you very much for sharing your reactions with us Jade! this movie always makes me cry T-T I recommend you watch a video on youtube called "Before the dark times" complements well what Obi wan felt
POV : you try to walk in Ohio but obi wan is the guard to make sure you don’t walk only crawl so he cuts your legs off
Obi-Wan's fate was the same as Anakin's and Palpatine's: They all die on a Death Star.
You're a doll! I love your personality
Aww thank you very much!
Btw Grevious isn’t a droid! He’s basically an alien species who was repaired as a cyborg after his injuries from another story that’s not really apart of this movie franchise
That is so dang cool! I look forward to learning more about him especially from the animated shows!
Should watch the video “Obi-wan has ptsd”.
R2 is one of the greatest heroes of the STAR WARS galaxy! Little Guy comes through all the time.
He is the hero we all need even if we don't deserve him! 🥺
Anakin win with dooku only because he used dark side
Beware your friend Palpatine
...and your pal Friendpatine (sorry...I'm sorry)
Omgg this one wins! Best comment 😂😂
I saw ep3 in theaters and 13:15 was my reaction as well. :D
Darth Plaugis is a very good audiobook
Palpatine knows of Anakins Nightmares because he creates them🤷🏻♂️
Or Anakin told him about his fear just off screen. They were friends.
Also Prophets of the Dark Side could predict this so Palpatine could actually know how that will happen.
Great reaction. Waiting for the sequels :)
So glad you enjoyed! They're definitely still to come! 😊
That's the way to the dark side!
