2019 anyone? This song hits right in the feels for some reason but I hope everyone here has a nice journey of life and gets through whatever they are going through
So this is about Egon Schiele dying of the Spanish flu and I keep thinking of it now for obvious reasons. If these 30th anniversary gigs end up happening later this year they better give some epic performances of this song.
On this track, and the album's closer, you get a glimpse of what Albini can do with a band in the studio - let them push themselves to the limit. Wicked shit.
Albini had nothing to do with this. This was recorded in a farmhouse in Kerry with me and Karl Odlum the only non-Frames present. The percussive guitar technique, ultra-long mid-section build-up, and minimalist guitar inter-pulsings in the coda were all my ideas. Just saying.
I love the way the vocals are recorded. So delicate, sounds like he's whispering in your ear.

@@craigward2710 My bad. Excellent work, it's an amazing track, one of their best.
The only Irish song comparable to hearing Neurosis live.
The death of the Austrian artist Egon Schiele and his wife Edith three days apart in 1918 from the Spanish Flu inspired this song.
