- Resident Evil Fans Just Got Some REALLY Bad News! With the release of the RE4 Remake and the RE4 Remake Separate Ways DLC, we have seen an increase in Resident Evil mods. Unfortunately, Capcom is not a fan of these fan projects as they have been removing them. Could this also affect the future of Resident Evil 9 and the rumored RE5 Remake too? Today I will explain everything we know about this situation and why it's bad for the RE4 Remake, RE5 Remake and RE9...

What are your thoughts about this? 😐
Capcom is making a very bad decision. The backlash could be nuts.
The randomizer mods are fun to watch but I'll be honest I thought this was about a remake 😅
If they don't like "the adult 18" mod skin maybe they should "hit the adult website first" and sue every modder out there? Right?
Also mod is that keeps the game and community alive. I know this is apples and oranges. Look at Project Zomboid, GTA San Andreas and other games. Modding is what kept these games alive. Weird mods, adult mods, silly mods or whatever.
Boycott Capcom and pirate their games. Screw them!
NO Rapidcrafter. Plz, don't tell me that out Jill will not make it! 😭😭🙏🙏🙏 Raise voice RE fans. We must keep Biohazard wishes alive as much as we can.
I think we shouldn’t suffer for another player's mistake. People should do whatever they want on the games if it is single player and doesn’t bother other players. Mods in general aren’t all inappropriate some increase a challenge and makes games more interesting and enjoyable.
and some barely change anything, like just making x gonna give it to ya playing while mr x stomps twords you
@@Ubu90 Best mods 😭😂
And some mods fix games into a playable state. Trespasser, from 1998, is a very prominent example of a 25-26 year old game that is only playable because of the modding community. Without that community, Trespasser would be an unplayable, broken, buggy mess, left dead and forgotten. But because of that community, mods are coming out even to this day, expanding the playability, performance, and asset roster.
The lprobles lies in the fact that players don't own their games, and if it violates some Term Of Agreement, then I say let the people suffer. If the consumer did no wrong, then the developer should just take a chill pill. I degress, who reads the Terms Of Agreement anyway, right?
Long story short, modding is here to stay, it cant be stopped, realistically they cant do anything about it. Delayed maybe, but thats it.
Hopefully. Modding has been such a big part of the Resident Evil community for years now
@RapidCrafter ya I mean without the moddin community we wouldn't have stuff like "during the storm" ,"mortal night" ,"containment" just to name a few
Ketu mod, rising of evil, leon brutal night, kendo's cut...
And this attitude is why PC is left on the back burner by multi-platform gaming company's. Company's like Bethesda are open to modding which is the company's you should focus on. If Capcom or Take two (even though take two is a trash company) don't want mods and you keep persistence the will pull a Sony and you will get them a year later. Console numbers drive sales not PC. Remember that the next time you call yourselves the master race lol
You're just mad your potato brain can't handle a mouse and keyboard and have to stick with shitty 60 fps lmao.@@lykonasher5439
Some mods are just to make a more immersive experience like making weapons visible on all of Leon's outfits or making the accessories like the cat ears invisible whilst still having unlimited ammo or even just the mods that make grenades into Poké Balls or healing sprays into coke cans
and I also don't think capcom should remove any mods I think they should just leave that part of the community alone
What is the weapons being visible on Leon mod called?
Yeah what is the mod? I want to know
And then there's the other...side of mods
@@shandilesmanahidayat7131it's called visible weapons, search it up on google Incase the link was deleted
@@deepflare1028😏
Some people are forgetting that some mods enhance the game by fixing problems like lighting, camera angles, etc.
Yep mods were what saved skyrim with all the bugs they fixed.
@@michaelcrow6943skyrim is like an iceburg, with the original game on top and the insane rabbithole of modding underneath
Yes, for example Capcom never fixed a lot of issues with RE games, especially the older ones like Revelation which is already got the DRM update, even worse it was broken. But with Enigma DRM they are going to effectively destroy all the fan made fixes. This is just beyond stupid and disgusting, like just the idea to add DRM to older games was not dumb and partially illegal enough.
Yes, SOME.
Actions like this is exactly why we have piracy. This doesn't punish the bad element, this doesn't improve your bottom line. It's turns yesterday's customer into today's pirate, and it's becoming harder and harder to disagree with people who do that. Mods keep games alive, and for me at least, keeps me returning to them. REv1? Mod in Claire for Raid Mode. REmake 4? Replace Leon with Wesker, DMC5? Give Dante his DMC2 look. If Capcom takes away these little joys, I take away my money. It's as simple as that.
EFIING AMEN....after this news I just went and pirated every Resident evil game I could. I already own ALL of them but going to keep the Pirated copies as back ups against stupidity
@@politicallyincorrect4452 It's almost a must at this point. I hate to think where games will be not even 2 years from now. They'll probably be full of ads and run at a "cinematic" 10fps due to the 10 DRMs attatched to them.
@@monkeybone1080 So true...
@@monkeybone1080Denuvo really is one annoying pos, CDPR and indie developers have my complete respect for not using that crappy DRM
I really dgaf what people say, i support piracy and i´m not broke either.
People have a really hard time understanding that this is all about principles, of course i do have exceptions when we´re talking about indie games.
I saw a comment on fitgirl repacks in the RE2 Remake that said that he bought the game on steam, but for some reason the game doesn´t work, and that he´s been searching for a version that does work for him and that´s why he resorted to piracy, i´m paraphrasing, but i think the comment is still there. I too have downloaded repacks that worked better than the retail versions on steam.
There´s also communities in Argentina, Venezuela, and here in Mexico too, that pirate games because of their high af pricing.
They can't do shit. It will be the same case as with the ad block, they will try to impose a "barrier", the community will feel challenged and, consequently, there will be even more ways to break this anti cheat and there will be even more mods.
That's true haha. People always find a way around things
I hope it also leads to less sales for Crapcom.
@@starsiren9592Yeah it might, one of my main reasons for buying RE4R was mods. I just wanted to have a fun time and mess around lol, I bet at least 10% of the PC version's sales were impacted thanks to mods
@@deepflare1028 Exactly. It's one of the main reasons why i wanna try out pc gaming someday. I got a taste of what it's like playing games with mods installed on console through playing fallout 4 and skyrim on xbox- specifically because xbox allows mods with external assets in them. It's been so fun, man.
@@deepflare1028 I bought RE4R too and the Ada DLC, but if Capcom blocks my mods or updates the game to make it unmodable I will 100% pirate that game. I already paid for it and they have no right whatsoever from prevent me from using whatever mods I please on a game that I own.
Modding RE games with skins is what brings me back to these games more often so without mods they make me less likely to play after I 100% a game
Exactly, modding keeps the game alive after completion.
@@maej123456especially after decades, we got Resident Evil Containment, a prequel to 1(and 0?) last year. The classic modding scene is still going strong, despite not being as large as Valve or Bethesda. If only they embraced modding instead of calling them "cheats"
i do enjoy watching mods for most of RE games specially randomizing or putting the faithful classic outfits in the modern games it adds more value to repeating the games sad to see this happening
Yeah I agree. It's unfortunate that this is all happening :/
Oh especially the classic outfit mods! I got SO angry at the "classic" outfits for Jill in 3 and Ada in 5 being changed.
This "ban-modding" thing always seemed to me like a way for publishers to make players buy more DLC items and cosmetics. RE2 Remake, if I remember correctly, had 3 costumes packs that you can buy for real money. Same thing with RE4 Remake. But why should we buy it if we have hundreds upon hundreds of modded outfits that you can put on Leon/Claire absolutely for free? It gives you choice to not spend money on expansions but download mods instead if you need some cosmetic variety. I'm sure everyone, who has followed the modding community for a while, noticed how much the gaming companies' view on modding changed ever since mictrotransactions became a norm in the industry. After all, gaming is a thriving business now and companies will try to squeeze every drop of penny out of consumer, whenever they get the chance. Which is, of course, a lot harder to do in a single-player project, than in a multiplayer one. And we all know Capcom are quite greedy. Even though they had released a lot of bangers in recent years, they've always tried to make a cheap service based game with "Resident Evil" slapped onto it (we're talking about one of their most popular franchises here) for easy monetization. Although, unsuccessfully each time...
Otherwise I see no good reason for them to forbid the modding in a single-player only game.
That might work if the cosmetic items they sold were something we wanted, but until they start selling NSFW skins for Ada, Claire and Jill that won't be the case.
many of these costume mods also edit the DLC so kinda encourage players to buy the DLC as well so they can get this or that mod.
Well, duh.
Modding has been such a huge part of Capcom's games for as long as I've known. From Resident Evil to Monster Hunter to Marvel vs Capcom 3 Ultimate, etc. Each game lived through such vast support partly because the mods that allowed old games to keep on thriving, mods give a way for a new experience while still showing appreciation to the games that been made. The fact that Capcom doesn't understand this is just sad.
Oh those bastards had better not mess with MHW mods. I need those so the game doesn't run like crap.
@@DGneoseeker1 I hope not either. I just learned how to mod last week with MHW and loving it more than ever.
I just think if they are doing this it is a super short sighted decision. This hadn’t been an issue until the point of a let’s say “suggestive” skin in a tournament. Mods are super important for the longevity of a lot of games!
Like Skyrim, I bet people would have forgotten that game a long time ago without mods and it would never have been released on almost every consoles & PC.
@@wargamesmaster Ya, thanks to the lovely modders, I can make Skyrim look nextGen type of game.
What makes Capcom think that modding is cheating. Look at Valve for crying out loud! They’re one of gaming’s biggest companies and they started out with a game that was built on modding. Half-Life was built on the Quake engine, would you call Half-Life a cheat Capcom? I don’t get the logic with companies like Nintendo and now Capcom, so god damn stupid!
Yeah it doesn't make any sense to me either. I can understand multiplayer games, but singleplayer?? I really hope they don't go through with this :/

If it was a multiplayer game that affected other players i'd understand the need to remove some content, but singleplayer, just let people have their fun. As long they actually purchased the game legitimately, there's no reason to not let them play how they want. That includes the "weird" mods too imo.
It's always about greed and control from these publishers. Why can't they just let gamers enjoy their games as they see fit? Moves like this just motivates Pirates and Modders to step up their game.
It's for reasons you obviously don't understand
They think they are so much better than us,It‘s a culture thing over there. Like older people is Superior, rich people is Surperior... As a developer they obviously think they are Surperior.
No kidding. I would think they could make enough from selling video games at the prices they set.
Alright the modding thing is mostly because everyone makes nude or lewd mods and Capcom is not really to happy about that and I don't really blame them the internet is mostly a bunch of thirsty horny people and it's gross
@@padseeyousoon it has nothing to do with greed at all
If I can't mod I'm definitely not going to be replaying them after my first go-around. I was already upset that they removed the ability to replace Leon with ada, and the Claire mod that replaces Leon has a really weird look to it with her wide shoulders because of the removal. It took the fun out of it, and quite frankly if I'm paying $70 for a game and I'm not playing in an online tournament I should be able to mod the game how I see fit because I bought it.
You know, if I was a game company, I would supporting modding and allow players to play how they want. Have fun. Show us your talent and heck maybe even have contest.
Maybe some of these modders can have open job opportunities.
it's lowkey sourcing talented individuals to potentially hire in the future. I think the best example for this is the one who made the RE4 HD project. He is now working for a game company, in which that was his end goal. The only company that I know that supports mods is CDPR, they even released a mod engine to support mods, which is cool.
@@JayV04Bethesda hasn't made the best decisions these last couple of years, but they deserve a mention as well. Sadly it seems like they're going on the paid mods route like Minecraft modders used to, unlike Minecraft's paid mods most of these paid mods for Skyrim aren't worth the price imo, there are always alternative, better, free mods out there. CDPR always has my respect for not giving up on Cyberpunk and giving modders access to modding tools, not using Denuvo that heavily impacts performance, despite the rocky launch of 2077. Oh yeah, can't forget Valve either
For the longest time it seemed they were okay with everything, even allowing cosmetic mods in online SF6 play. This feels like it comes out of nowhere
@@xCodeKiller It probably comes from the higher ups, I'm sure most of the developers disagree with them but they don't care sadly
Well tbh, a good amt of modders make mods as a practice or to add to their portfolio for game dev. So that would of been a good idea, but noooooo. Crapcom decides to take the opposite route.
The only modding that should be allowed is single player only
Even multiplayer ones are fine provided they only affect one side. It's not hurting anyone else if I'm the only one who can see the Shrek skin for my character in multiplayer.
Thank you for talking about this. I play on console and this irritates me. I’m used to activision screwing us CoD fans over but come on Capcom that’s not cool.
Capcom is becoming the new nintendo. At this point, i hope people set sail on capcom. If i bought the game, i DO have the right to mod my game. I could literally MOD my game to actually get it to launch ( looking at your resident evil 8 pc).
Capcom, Nintendo, Take Two are all on the same boat. I love how each of them have a competitor that sees modding in a positive way.
Capcom => Square Enix
Nintendo => Sega
Take Two/Rockstar => CDPR?(they're not as popular, yet)
Damn, that's some shit. The idea that "all mods are cheats" is such an ignorant opinion, and it's shocking to see it from a developer like Capcom.
Right. Most mods are skins/randomizers where the only advantage we get is the novel concept of playing the game just that bit differently.
And even if it might be a cheat, why do they care so much if it's a single player game? I sometimes install mods like that, but only when I completed the game at least once
I’ve never been able to try out mods myself but I’ve always wanted to. I believe and personally feel that mods add more enjoyment for each player to be able to make more choices of our own. It sounds pretty disappointing that Capcom is considering taking that away from their players.
How do you think Skyrim stayed relevant enough for players to have 4000+ hours into it certainly wasn't the side quests
Maaaan i hope my Devil May Cry 5 mods don't give me troubles in the near future. I love DMC 5 when it's modded with music mods or extra outfits...
The DMC modding community is insane. I really hope that Capcom doesn't take away what the community has created for the DMC games
"We need to protect the integrity of our IPs from the vile modders." Massive fan backlash. "Later. We will protect them later."
"Protect our IPs?" How about the Japanese come clean about how many Western IPs they ripped off to create these franchises? Hypocrites.
This is also sort of a hot topic on the DMC community because aside from the divisive release of Peak of Combat, CAPCOM went ahead and did this. We're also getting videos apparently being struck down by Casey Edwards for using his music from DMC 5 and DMC PoC.
I feel like the mods shouldn't be an issue for the most part. At least, as far as I know, the mods I've encountered for CAPCOM games are pretty tame. Some even essential like DDMK for DMC3 which keeps the game fresh and actually gives us a style switcher akin to the Freestyle Mod they introduced for the Switch port of the game. There's also costume mods that give us an updated look on older costumes from the franchise. Some improve visual feedback, bugs, etc. Honestly, it's better if they just go with mods that alter gameplay for multiplayer titles that can actually be considered cheats. They could make a flowchart out of these scenarios to determine which they should classify as harmless and potentially damaging. But no, they just want to go scorched earth on mods and that's disappointing. I hope they walk back on the decision or actually think this through before giving us a DRM that shouldn't be there in the first place.
They could, I dunno. Implement a mod detector of sorts that warns the player whenever they use mods that are considered"cheating" such as infinite health, ammo, whatever, while also disabling achievements and multiplayer like Bethesda did with Skyrim
Very odd situation. Especially with them adding a DRM to Resident Evil Revelations. That really makes no sense to me. It's odd that this is all a rumor, according to one of the ROE members. Kinda makes it very messy and difficult to figure out everything lol. I have no idea about what will happen with modding and if any of this is even true. I'm interested in seeing what happens in the near future.
Literally half the reason Village, 2 and 3 remakes are so popular still is bc of mods.
Tbh, I am a big fan of modding and will most often stand in favor of it. I do see where Capcom is coming from if you search any of the REmakes, you will get a lot of thirst trap mods being prompted. I know better as a fan of the series, but as someone on the outside looking in, you may get a false impression of the type of game RE is supposed to be or what the community at large is like.
The worst thing is they don't care about those mods, they're more concerned about those infinite ammo or weapon rebalance, etc mods that are supposedly "cheating"
Then that's where those people who looking in from outside should make inquiries about what they've been seeing before jumping in- get information on whether or not the games come with those kinds of content or if they're being altered afterwards. Most people would tell them the truth with no hesitation.
Then they should ban those mods and not all
@@tavish4699 100% agree!
@deepflare1028 they can be. If you are unlocking paid content through modding. I think the other concern is that they may be losing future revenue streams through modding. Which I get. Skins and such, making a lot of money these days. That is where we as gamers need to stop spending $10+ on skins. Let's be real a skin is worth like 25 cents, and these companies are making bank off of skins that cost more then a meal.
Well a huge thing with the mods is because of the chun li accident.. when someone didn’t take their mods off during a tournament and it ended with nude chun li being live streamed to thousands of people
As long as Capcom RE devs don't answer to fans expectations in their game then there will always be mods created for it, like returning characters, cut contents, story improvements (like dialogues), game mechanics (like 3rd person gameplay) and lack of DLC's ☝.
If it's because of the Street Fighter 6 tournament where an idiot used a nude version of Chun Li mod, I can understand but it doesn't justify them to take down the other types of mods. They can take down nude mods for all I give a damn but I don't see how mods like outfits and game modes are damaging their products when the purpose of them is to just increase the replayability of these games. These are single player games, how can you even cheat when you are playing the game all on your own? In fact, mods are encouraging console gamers to buy a PC so they can buy their games again to use different methods of fun.
You do realize you can't control people right and you can't control what people mod in a video game and neither can Capcom.
Like it or not people are going to continue to make nude mods and no matter what DMR you put in people will just find a way around it they always do.
OK, so a lot of the claims around the Enigma DRM have been debunked by reputable sources: It only affects the game’s EXE, not any of the game’s assets. This means that most mods will still work; it’ll only affect things like trainers. Furthermore, there doesn’t seem to be any effect on performance.
I think Capcom’s stance on mods is fundamentally misguided, and we should call them out when they cross the line. However, it’s important to make sure we’re reporting accurate information, and not getting worked up over something that didn’t even happen.
I don't understand why modding is so frowned upon by devs. So long as it is offline play it should be embraced and encouraged as a means for aspiring developers and designers to showcase their talents. If you have made some damn fine lego and now l have bought it dont tell me how to fucking play with it.
That Chun Li moment was definitely one of the straws but I also think what annoyed Capcom was that when RE4 Remake came out, within one or two days a playable Ada Wong over Leon mod came out and it actually had some of her combat moveset with her backflip kick she does on stunned enemies and it was immediately taken down off of the Nexus mods website and completely vanished and I'm assuming it's because Capcom caught wind of this.
Considering Ada Wong's DLC wasn't until several months later, they probably felt that took away from their potential profits of the DLC and I can understand that view point but still think it is a terrible decision to ban all mods completely.
The Street Fighter 6 beta also was completely cracked before release and the full game is literally available in secret channels I won't say where but a bunch of other games like RE4 Remake and Monster Hunter series are available for free if you know where to look.
i got that mod. it was put back up some time later. i do know what you mean though. nexus was also removing any mods that had ashley naked or sexually dressed because the VA didnt like it (as it did also have her face). that too lasted for only a short while.
The thing I find so sad about this news is the potential that the mods have to show Capcom how this could be a great business move for them but no instead they want to be blinded to their own stubborn ideals and act as if doing modding in a game is going to kill the potential that the game they work so hard to put out there is just not going to work without those mods and I could somewhat get where they're coming from but I'm not going to lie if I was in the seat of Capcom as one of the big corporate heads I think my first thought process on seeing a modded character in one of the residential games would be we need these types of ideas to keep our series alive because without it we could die out and I think you know it's little things like this that the fandom shows the show how much they love this game series is what keeps the game series alive and keeps generations from wanting to find out about these games which would be the many different titles of resident evil and all the different games about it and even movies and comic books and stuff like that and it's so sad like I said how stupid this is just because some big corporate heads think that this is taking money away from them
I firmly believe that if you purchased a product, that you should be able to use it how you want. For example if I buy a hammer and wanna make a birdcage with it then I should be able to do so but if the store or company that made the hammer wants to take away my hammer for trying to make a birdcage then yeah I'm gonna be pissed. Same thing with mods, if Capcom goes through with this it WILL blow up in their faces and the backlash will last for a long, long time. Companies should NOT dictate what the customer does with the product they bought, it is not their decision to make.
This is gonna suck, one of my favorite things to do when replaying a resident evil game is to put the characters in goofy outfits and make the guns like the banana gun mod its just fun and keeps the game feeling fresh while replaying for more unlockable content. not looking forward to this update AT ALL!
One thing to consider here is what videos are they taking down? They usually don't care much unless it impedes on a project they're doing themselves. They don't want everyone to get their fix on a modded game that they're releasing soon because less people will be interested because they already played something so similar. Resident evil 2 is a perfect example. They went crazy over the re2 remake fan game.
This reminds me of when teachers would punish everyone for one person when I was in school. Like you said ban the weird mods not all of them.
I'm getting grade 8 PTSD, my teacher shouted at me for talking when it was some other guy. But yeah otherwise they should ban the wierd mods. But the problem is Capcom doesn't care about those hor*y mods for the RE games, they're more concerned about "cheat" mods like infinite health, ammo, different camera angle, etc
Watch Capcom lose so many fans after this.
This bothers me because re4 s mod and re5 night terror will no longer be playable or shared on RUclips because of Capcom which is so dumb. I don’t even play mods, but there are many creators that create very cool mods to make resident evil games more creative and now we can’t even have that. Idk i think it’s time to say goodbye to re series
I'm pretty sure banning mods would kill sf6 in the content creation sense,
because i don't think i know a content creator for street fighter 6 that doesn't use some type of mod.
Considering that there's barely any skins in the game, and the in game content is dryer than Ghandi's sandal rn, it would definitely kill alot of motivation to play the game.
Ghandi's sandle, lmfao
I disagree about one thing - I don't think Capcom games, especially RE, would thrive without mods. The only reason I have 400+ hours in RE4R is because of modding. It gives me a reason to keep playing. I'm not even talking about content mods, just cosmetic mods. It's fun to run around as Leon Croft or play as Claire. Once you've beaten the game and unlocked everything, and they're not doing the weekly challenges like they did (and are still doing) for RE2R, there's very little replayability, at least as often as I have been replaying. This update will be a total bomb for Capcom. They need to reconsider.
If Capcom is so butt hurt over a Street Fighter mod, remove the “inappropriate” mods. Has nothing to do with the good ones including those in RE games. Backlash is gonna be intense.
at the end of the day it doesn't matter who the big mighty developers are modding won't stop they will never ever stop it and if anything this will make them mad even more so yea it doesn't matter Mr big developers because you won't win ever remember that
I dont think modding with the intent to express or share anothers creative freedom should be considered "cheating" Good Video!
No removal of any mods, even the "weird" ones are up for a reason.
My favourite game is XCOM 2. I have 2000 hours in that game. Why? Modding. It gave it insane replay value. I even did an RE play through. Hell, some mods helped with performance issues on lower end PCs (like the one I had in 2016). I've been watching my friend play the Nightmare mod for RE4R and it's so much fun
My main concern right now is playing of RE4 with the HD Project mod and Randomizer mod. I'm in the middle of a run right now.
And the Biorand mod is such a good laugh!!!! I really don't understand. We bought the game. Please let us play it how we want!
When I was playing Village couple years ago and the daugter was turning into the bugs and the game started going crazy, I honestly thought, up until this point, that my graphics card was bugging out or overloaded lol. Good to know it wasn't just myself. Now that being said, another topic, but does Resident Evil 4 Remake still take forever to first boot up after the splash screen for anyone?
This will go the same way as when Japan declared their pointless war against video games piracy, only motivate people to find ways around whatever Japan did and continue doing whatever they want.
Edit: Hell, I just discovered there's a "anti-DRM" file somewhere on internet for RE4 remake.
clearly nobody at capcom hasn't played minecraft, saying modding aren't cheats
As a PlayStation owner I've always felt I've been missing out on this.
First valve, now Capcom, what is going on with modding scene
No, Valve is NOT banning mods. Valve still very much supports mods and TF2S2 was NOT a mod but rather a full recreation using assets that they didn't have the rights to. Please stop pretending like Valve is suddenly against mods.
So Capcom just wants to punish People Who mod the game just because one guy forgot to turn off his nude Chun-Li mod and really you can't control these type of people from doing that. I don't exactly trust JJ from residence of evil and I think somebody at Capcom a higher up pretty much told him to calm the people down and I think Capcom also went into panic mode because of everybody down thumbing their products on Steam and Capcom is just encouraging people to pirate because of bad decisions like this.
But if Capcom does decide to add back the DMR into their games people are going to find a way around it and it's going to backfire like what happened with blizzard and the he***i content of OverWatch.
It as been 27 years... 27 YEARS! I'm dad of one and I grow up playing this games, If this keeps going I am done with this company like Riot and Blizzard and others. Sick and tiered of over whelming actions from all this game company's, they don't actual try to communicate with the community first and give feedback. One they they will be the cause of the hate and unfun actions from all those that are still here to see them keep growing...
We had a few years of the return of CapGod. It was about time to for the pendulum to swing the other direction. Looking forward to DmC2 in a few years.
Well. RIP me. See you in Resident Evil heaven

Thank you!! That means a lot :)
Mods keeps New and Old Games alive. New Mods that aren't cheats in Players VS Players will invoke old players to download and play the game especially those streamers wherein it will trigger fans of said streamers to go and buy the game either in sale or as is price. This will also increase the fanbase and the replay value instead of it being slowly forgotten unless its being Remade. Also, it keeps the game afloat/relevant. As new players play the game, it will soon create more fandom and revenue to the game company via toy products or merchandise purchase. The moment they put the unnecessary DRM, most of the current and interested fans will keep away from the game and instead play or focus their energy on something else. Almost all games regardless of how much they DRM, authenticate, put anti cheat, install walls to protect the game will eventually fall. Best examples MOBA, no matter how much Valve or Riot Games put these protections eventually there will be a leak in the system, that will make it necessary to put patches and it might turn away the player base out of frustration. DRM vs Gamers will be a rat race to who will eventually give in but my Pesetas on the Gamers as they can and will unlock anything with a passion. Especially, passion of vengeance.
I wonder.. after I download mods and if I disable my wi-fi after that and then install the mods in Resident Evil will I be able to not get caught?
Oh yeah remember that mod on Chun Li in Street Fighter 6 😂
Pretty disappointed with this news! A lot of the mods I would normally use is PS button icon mods or replacing Leon with Hunk in RE4 Remake or some of my faves which include the original GameCube font mods for RE0 and REmake. I guess that's cheating now? Rofl so silly!
Honestly kinda expected this to happen at some point. I think Capcom already said this "modding is cheating"-thing during the month after "the incident". To this day, I'm not sure if I can still mod SF6, or if they added something that'll scan and ban me. (And no, I wasn't using the type of mod the guy at the tournament used. It's mainly for my Spider-Gwen Cammy and my Kermit Ken - the latter probably even has a disadvantage, because it's so janky)
Now I have one last thought here:
When Bethesda releases updates for ye olde Skyrim, there's always a ton of people that downpatch the game manually and just start it outside of Steam with SKSE, because most mods only work on a certain version. If Capcom really does this, could something like this be a way to bypass the DRM? Because if it is, I'm positive modders will do it. And if they do it, Capcom are wasting their time with this
you can mod SF6 but you have to be offline. if you go online you have to make sure your mods are disabled.
Online multiplayer aside, the only thing mods hurt is Capcom's ego. All this is going to do is push people even more to play pirated versions that have the DRM removed/disabled. While review bombing is a dirty tactic, it's also dirty of publishers to retroactively manipulate games long after they've been bought and owned.
Capcom going after all modders because of the stupid actions of a few is just gonna piss off everyone, not smart in the slightest because some people need to have lewd mods for their fighting games to be 'enjoyable'. At the same time, fuck those people for having to over sexualize anything and everything they're just as much part of the problem as Capcom doing this.
oh no i know 2 channels that do re mods
Hopefully nothing happens to those channels! Capcom needs to understand that modding has been a huge part of the RE community
I agree, let the mods alone. If they truly do want to censor and control their community's actions more, I suppose the best case scenario is, like you said, removing "weird" mods XD
But that is kind of sad. Yes there are literal cheating mods, I can see how those may spark some issues, but mods that literally change the outfits or models of characters? It changes up the game and offers more hours of gameplay for the game and its users- let it be!
Define "weird". The one in charge of censoring mods at Capcom finds all mods "weird". So all mods get taken down because they are all deemed "weird". That's the problem. They don't like mods period. Not just the "weird" ones.
And it's not even about mods themselves but the modders cutting into the DLC outfit profits that Capcom wants to make. This is a good example of why cosmetic microtransactions are just as bad as paid to win microtransactions. They're both in direct competition of free modding endeavors that in some cases do it better than the actual developer.
@Fickji by "weird" mods, everyone is referring to the nude mods and things like that.
@@Fickji yes, I was using the label "weird" in the same was as this RUclipsr did in his video. Mods specifically designed for pleasure. Like nude, lingerie, making the models chubby, things like that. Those are the "weird" mods.
But realistically the mods cannot be separated between "weird" and not, because it's opinion based, of course the people that would use those kinds of mods would want them to stay and fight that they are not weird. There probably isn't a world where only normal mods can exist, so either all stay or all leave. I root for all stay, and just deal with the weird mods existing and try to ignore them. They bother me personally, but I would rather learn to avoid them than not have mods at all!
What I said originally was just a joke...like if anyone is going to be removing mods, remove the nasty ones!
@@Fickji I am talking only about Nexus Mods, by the way. This is the only mod website I've accessed, and all mods I've talked about are widely available there, for multiple RE games.
Man what Capcom is doing is the equivalent of if Minecraft banned Forge, Fabric and Optifine and said the fans can just cope. How sad that they lost touch with the gaming fans and community.
No one misses with mr x's umbrella shorts, not even you capcom !
🤣 they're literally only mad because of all the Claire, Jill, and lady D skin mods that people post on their channels all the time lol
Those mods are great as well 😊
They need to be mad at themselves for "creating suggestive scenes" in the first place. The community responded by,"Hey. I can upgrade this for you guys".
@@SCH292agreed
The part that aggravates me on series x, I notice and can see a MASSIVE fps rate from running on the final chapters of the game compared to the village section. It feels like I'm running at 50 to 75 percent the full running speed
If games like Skyrim and Stalker have taught me anything, it's that modding is the one thing that decides if a game lives for 4-5 years than dies out, or lives on for a decade, maybe even two, racking in hundreds of thousands or even millions more purchases throughout their lifespan.
Capcom declaring war on the modding community is nothing short of shooting themselves in the foot. Many of the Capcom games I've played over the years, be it Monster Hunter [aesthetic only, of course. Things like weapon remodels for World], or Resident Evil [both the older games and the remakes, from simple weapon/outfit/character remeshes to total conversions and randomisers], most of those games would have only had half the playtime I actually invested in them, without the mods keeping things fresh. And no, paid DLC will not compensate for that, Capcom. I do not have the extra budget to burn on a game I have already purchased. If forced to purchase more content to get that same experience we once got for free, I will simply stop playing and move on to games by developers who respect their playerbase.
as a console player this doesn't affect me at all.
I do understand Capcom being upset about the street fighter accident. but taking their fury out of mod creators and who ever uses mods is just mishandling the situation. you are very right RE games are extremely fun but after finishing everything what's the point of replaying the game. mods just adds infinite amount of playtime hence more sales to Capcom games. it's sad seeing such talented and creative company ruining their reputation with bad management. I hope this gets resolved cause randomized re2 is my favorite game
They should go after the people profiting from mods, I once sawn a mod being sold on patron in the top subscription 100 dollars per month, it's insane how this guys take something that isn't theirs and charge more than the whole game.
Capcom says mods are cheating yet releases a micro transaction key with every Resident Evil that unlocks everything in the game without needing to S+ rank the hardest difficulty... The hypocrisy.
I didn’t see anything about the Chun Li thing, but I did hear that Capcom wasn’t happy about the porn mods. Which makes sense to a point, but to go after mods in general is a losing battle. As long as video games have existed someone has tried to mod them. All DRM does is piss off all the other people playing the game because modders find work arounds. Also, it’s a single player game. Who gives a shit if someone modded it.
I really wish i could understand the personality disorder that Capcom had... In a moment they go on a streak doing amazing things and making everyone love then, and then they decide it's time to make everyone hate then again with some insane bullshit.
So all this happened because of one player with a stupid mistake
Exactly
i personally never used mods on re games but i do support the mods that can improve certain aspects of the games. for instance i never knew there was a 3rd person mod for re7 but always wish capcom natively patches in a 3rd person pov , i highly doubt they will ever do that since they will have to spend resources on the game and at this point it's about 6-7 years old. mods are essential for some game preservation. i hope they go back on this decision.
They wouldn't have to use resources if they just paid the makers of the third person mod a lump sum and incorporated it into the game. The work is already done. Companies getting greedy, nothing new.

so I won't be able to get rid of the yellow paint in re4 remake now? Thanks capcom, very cool
⚠️ long comment ⚠️
From a business standpoint, I can understand Capcom. However, Capcom was one of the few companies who actually did support these mods for a while unless the modder was benefitting from it financially. I understand if they want to go after them or the NSFW content. However, randomizers, HD projects, and even some scenario based mods are some of the best. Randomizers are personally my favorite. Resident Evil is one of the few games that, granted, is fun without the mods, but it is fun to switch it up a little bit. They make playing the game, and even watching streams a lot of fun as well. So from a viewer, or even a content creator's viewpoint, I can understand why peeps would be upset. Hell, even if you enjoy playing the mods in your personal time that's great too. I don't think it damages the product. If anything, it benefits heavily because even console players will legit just get a PC and buy the game again just to enjoy the mods for themselves. Capcom definitely won't be able to 100% stop modding of their games, and I'm sure they know that. It'll definitely catch some attention when they strike videos because of it. Knowing the modding community though, they'll always find a workaround for this kind of thing.
that is exactly why I bought a gaming pc. I played 2 3 and 4 Remake on my Series X, I even bought the other RE games on the Xbox game store just to have them. Once I got my pc, I bought all of them all over again just to enjoy some of the mods, like Tifa outfit for Claire, or 2B outfit for Ashley and some of the silly ones like the wiimote that replaces the primal knife and nokia phones that replace grenades
Yea that's what I said, its their product and terms of service exist so they can do what they want sadly. And they should totally find a way to protect safe modding, as I know a lot of people who can't technically find jobs in their field are doing it as a passion. Their passion is that game they devote the time to mod. Most modders are their biggest fans.
Safe mods should be classified as protected art.
@@DeadlyTinyOrcall mods are safe mods.
I bought RE3Remake because of a random meme mod pack that I saw. I streamed the game to my friends, which they ended up buying to game too and installed a bunch of mods onto it.
I believe that with mods you have to accept the good with the bad. There are going to be weird mods, but it's such a small part of the community that it shouldn't matter.
If we let a company or website decide what's okay and what isn't, eventually we won't have any mods, in which Capcom wins and consumers lose.
I play on console, so I know this won't affect me. But I have many friends and family members who play these games on Pc and mod them for fun. Whether it's making Ashley and skeleton or making Leon wear a cat suit, they do it for giggles. So this is definitely sad and crazy to hear.
I could understand how the designers and developers, might feel upset that their hard work feels more popular with mods of nudity and whatnot, it would suck to feel that way.
I don't mod, but I see how some can fun or entertaining.
Banning cheating is one thing. Banning lewd content is another. But banning everything and then on top of that the game suffers, that's rather overboard, I think.
Seriously, if this is the reason my game has been lagging and falling out of sync lately, that kind of pisses me off.
Capcom, if you want to target certain things, that's your business. But don't make all of your community suffer, even if we play by your rules.
Capcom scared because modders could definitely take their place lmao
You have no idea what game development is
Modders are so good at what they do. They've created some of the best mods in the community
Yeah no. Mods are NOT the same as creating a whole game.
Always one guy ruining it for everyone
@@jamesconlin5099neither do you so shut ur mouth
Capcom actually want to turn away costumers if they did this... I met a lot of gamers who chose to suddenly buy PC just so they can play mods in RE characters. NGL, it's amusing seeing them openly discussing PC specs in live chats
Do you think this will apply to the Biorand mods for the original trilogy?
🎉❤
Read between the lines. They're tired of the nude mods, it's just about reputation.
They might as well go after every single one of those "videos" on adult website too. Right? "Reputation" right?
Do you guys also lag when using scope on sniper in re4 remake? my fps went from 60 to 30 when ever i use the scope.
How are they gonna get mad about what somebody does with a game the player paid for.
I wonder what is going to Dante Ravioli's channel because the majority of his videos are moding videos.
Hopefully nothing bad. Dante puts out some of the best Resident Evil mod content
@@RapidCrafter yes I agree 💯
"I play on the old game console called PS1, it doesn't take disk either and they are offline, I don't think I'll have any problem, I just play on the old PlayStation that already have 20 games in it."
So millions of sales doesn't seem to suffice these greedy mobs after all,, instead of rewarding fans with better games and experiences they'd rather turn on the aggressive mode of collective punishment...
Yeah and the DRM has also made it impossible to play Capcom games on Steam Deck. Like I only have 1 Capcom game on Steam I believe, which is Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, but I like playing with mods because I just want to get rid of the carry weight issue. I hate carry weight in games, it's just obnoxious. I got the game on Steam so I could mod it. If I wanted to play it unmodded I'd just play on Switch. I mean I'm still gonna buy Dragon's Dogma 2 on Steam, but I'm gonna be a little miffed. There is also a mod to allow you to see Playstation buttons on screen when using a Playstation controller instead of seeing an XBox controller which I use because I don't have an XBox and I don't know the button layout of their controllers.
Mods will be here to stay they need to get with the program if Capcom worried about anti cheat just disable trophies achievements etc when mods are active
If anything Capcom isn’t doing anything lasting, it’s just gonna make modders try even harder when finding ways to mod their games, so many other games benefit from things like mods, this might be a bit of a long one here but so many other games don’t care or even ENCOURAGE mods, this is just Capcom being butthurt that non-official devs are making better things than they are or improving their work
It will depend on the type of mod if someone is using mods to get started in game making then that could be viewed as OK. If someone is using a mod to say GameShark their way through the game to beat it and get the best rank then that could be a problem. If the mod only affects the character’s look but not the aspect of the game then it might be OK capcom and others need to realize not all mods are bad it has to be looked at and rated so that those who want to use the game as an engine for their ideas can do it.
I don't see why they care whether or not someone has mods😐
