There 2 swings in golf that are picture perfect and smooth as silk. Ernie Els and Fred Couples. And both are the gentlemen of golf. Love watching both of them play.

Wathed Ernie in the SA amature final at Maritzburg Country Club in 1986. He lost to a chap by the name of Rivette.
Marked Ernie then as a future great, never heard of his opponent again.

Wasn’t he also a good tennis player at a young age and when his dad figured he was better at golf he went ahead and converted their tennis court into a practice putting green…?

No question about it, Ernie is one of the greatest ever golfers!
However I believe that for a man of his prodigious all round golfing talents, winning only four major championships means that he has underachieved!
I believe he should have a minimum of 8 majors to his name. He has lost many of these titles to inferior players!

What we didnt know, well only the privilege can play golf. Els had no influence in SA in regards to golf
He just immigrated to England, that's what we know. The rest of the golf players in SA will never get to where he is at. He has no relevance
