I had a female client with a layering of Joop Homme and Sauvage edt. It was extremely overpowering but it kinda fitted to her style.

I wanna thank you for making these types of videos I feel safe watching your channel as a non binary lesbian. I prefer more masculine scents and my collection is mostly fragrances marketed towards men. Most videos out there about fragrances are so gendered and heteronormative.

My boyfriend hates most men's colonge, the only way he'll wear one is in his words "if they make a colonge that smells like a perfume" When I told him frag heads don't care about the man/woman labels he was like "I didn't know that was an option, I like that" 😂

Fragrance brands, especially those with large advertising budgets, gender fragrances because of marketing. Dior can hire a male actor to promote their scents. Chanel can hire a female actress to promote their scents.
I watch many fragrance channels. Two of the male fragrance creators wear what they want when they want. They honestly don’t care. If they like it, they wear it. Male targeted, female targeted, unisex targeted. They don’t care. One of the male creators mostly wears unisex or male targeted fragrances, but he loves Portrait of a Lady. Yes, he wears it. One of the female fragrance creators I watch wears whatever she wants, but her husband exclusively wears fragrances that are marketed to women. That’s what he likes. Feminine fragrances.
If you are scared to wear a “gendered” fragrance, wear it around the house for a few days. Once you’re comfortable, wear it out of the house. The same rules apply to fragrances that may be too “mature” or too “juvenile”. (I didn’t come up with the concept of wearing a fragrance at home before debuting it in public.)
The reality is that most people have little interest in fragrance. They will compliment you if you smell good. Wear what you like because you like it.

While it is true that smelly juice does not have genitals or gender and therefore can be used by... Well everyone, the truth is that most people have already been "indoctrinated" with the gender expectations and stereotypes; aka pretty floral, sweet, gourmand, powdery fragrances are for women, woody, aromatic, musky, leathery for men. It's really unfortunate, that we've had all of these ingrained in out minds that we now judge others for not "conforming", when really it's a stupid reason to get pissed at. I'm a 19 year old dude, and never cared about fragrances until recently; I know I liked my mother's fragrances, but I myself only wore some generic Avon's frags. But I actually gravitate towards "feminine" fragrances, or unisex-marketed: I love white flowers, clean musks, aquatics (not the generic "men's blue shower gel "), powders, aldehydes (huuuge fan of N°5), and the more unusual, like sunscreen/solar fragrances, with tropical notes like coconut, tiare, frangipani, ylang, mineral notes, like the ones in CK2, metallic ones, like in the indie Blood Concept AB I own. I just don't like what most male-marketed fragrances smell like, and I couldn't care less what others think about me lmao.
I really like the classics (I refuse to call them "grandma perfumes", only when I have to make it clear do I refer to them as such), like Guerlain's Eau de Guerlain, Insolence, Champs-Elysees, L'heure Bleue, Shalimar, Mitsouko, and Jicky. I love Chanel's N°5 even though Gabrielle wasn't the best person, I like Cacharel's Eden, and I'll also try Noa and LouLou, and of course Anaïs. I like Kenzo, Davidoff Cool Water, Armani Acqua/Ocean di Gioia, and so many more.
My nose is so sensitive it would get irritated from just inhaling air lol, so that's another reason I prefer feminine fragrances, although of course taste is my main reason.
