54 years old long-time HM fan here - and I convinced one of my kids that we have to see them live. And voila, next week me and my daughter will be at their concert in Frankfurt / Germany. Never too old for loud music!
One of my coworkers introduced me to Hot Mulligan at the end of 2022. I saw them 4 times in 2023. Can’t wait to see what 2024 brings. Hot Mulligan is amazing and I have never had my feelings put into words like they’re able to do.
BOOMER ALERT!!! I’m an old ass 42 year old man and I genuinely believe Hot Mulligan are the best band I’ve come across in a good 15 years or so. A lot of todays music is soulless crap written by musicians whose brains have been rotted by Percocet and Xanax. These guys though… they got a lot of heart! They understand how dynamics play into their music and that putting passion into your music is a good thing! Every record HM have released has been great and I’m so thankful to see there’s still some people out there playing music that actually has substance. I hope nothing but the best for these guys. Thanks to the uploader for posting this show. I live nearby and was considering going to this show but lunched on getting tickets.
I'm 35 and not quite 42. That means you were ~20 when I went to my first Taking Back Sunday show in 02. There's actually been plenty of great bands the last few years. HM is definitely great band that has become more accessible, though
@@robc5051yeah, that’s about right because I got into Taking Back Sunday somewhere around ‘03 or so and I was already in my early 20’s. I didn’t get to catch TBS live until ‘06 or so; at which point they were already a huge band. If you got to go see them back in ‘02 before their “big break” that must’ve been an awesome show!
the algernon cadwallader shirt is the icing on the cake for this masterpiece of a live show. they defined my high school years and hot mulligan has defined my late 20s/early 30s
Had so much fun this night than I have at a show in a LONG time. Christ Alive's breakdown is what set me off - AMAZING HEARING THIS LIVE. But my personal favorite is hearing Smacked my Head Off live. The way the vocalist hints its about his grandmother not doing so well, and then goes completely hard during the bridge. Absolutely gives me chills up my spine

This is awesome. My girlfriend wasn’t feeling well, we got there early to be up front but we had to move back, we stayed in the back. Now we can watch it from a few feet away from where we were standing before they came on.
This is amazing. Thank you. THANK YOU. You have brought me an immense amount of joy posting this video, and I will be watching your recording for years to come.
Wow! Great video! Thank you for posting, the audio is incredible, did you get it straight from the mixing board or something? I wish some of the crowd noise came through through some of the call and response parts like during Gans Media Retro Games, but this is still probably the best live clip I've seen of them yet. Thanks again!
never seen them live but i really hope to, seeing him talk kinda awkwardly before playing betty confused me a bit until after he played it; realizedhe was bringing himself together to play it
Yep he's underselling himself. I actually asked my voice coach and he's doing a super safe style of vocal distortion. Which is real hard to do for a whole set.
If this was mixed better it would sound a lot better. The vocals are way louder than everything. Why does the band's volume sound so low like it's a backing track?
what you are hearing is the house mains, so you are correct vocals are louder :) I dont have access to the multi track because there arent any! just an audio recorder into a board, and I think thats pretty neat since im one guy going to shows by myself :D
tades couldn't get his guitar tuned for betty at the first show in cincy and just gave up and threw his guitar off the side of the stage and moved on with the setlist lmao
I actually asked my vocal coach this. It's a safe style of "yell" which engages the false cords. Basically he's figured out how to make it look painful but with much more sustainable technique
Great set, great crowd, but why is Chris screaming all his clean vocal parts? It's not the scream itself that's bad, he's actually a good screamer... but like, why? Not sure I like it tbh
@@g4rudamonhaha yeah I’m mostly indifferent about the screaming, HM just already scream a lot but it does add a different dynamic to the sound so it’s cool… and thanks haha my name is Greek af
