I just made this and made them in my airfryer. And they came beautifully and delicious.
I used cornmeal and just a bit of flour.
Made the patties placed in a preheated airfryer sprayed with cooking oil and cooked on 350 degrees for 14 minutes flipped and sprayed at 7..
    Healthier version 😉

That's what I plan on doing, using air fryer. I also am not going to boil the cabbage in water. I'm going to microwave it in a covered dish. Cabbage has a lot of natural liquid, no water needed. Seeing this recipe and recipes for cabbage pie today, in my RUclips feed, I see I'm going to need a lot of cabbage this week! I'm a cabbage fiend, cooked or uncooked (slaw), count me in.

Just made these!! They were great!
I used a whole head of cabbage and it made way too many but that means more for later.
With all my changes, they ended up being very similar to Korean pancakes-- yummy!
In case you're wondering, here's what I did. Next time, if only cooking for one, I'd use half a head of cabbage.
Thank you for the recipe/ easy to follow video!
Steamed the cabbage. Added barely cooked spinach, grated carrots, 2 big yellow onions, waaaayyyy more garlic than suggested, "better than bouillon veggie paste", a ton of cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, thyme, salt, turmeric, fresh parsley, lots of all purpose flour instead of semolina, 4 eggs, and nutritional yeast because I was tempted to add a bit of sugar. Also, in some of them, I put a tiny cube of extra sharp cheese-- that was random but creamy good. Because I used a whole head of cabbage, I also tried baking some of them, wouldn't recommend. They were healthier but fried tastes better. Crispy edges for the win!

Filled my shallow soup ladle and dumped even amounts onto parchment lined cookie sheets. Flattened slightly with a spatchula. Yes, a big batch! Increased eggs to quantity of 5. Very happy with this recipe. Next time I'll crumble some feta on top before baking.

This was delicious and easy to make. I made it low carb subbing the flour for almond and adding 1 tablespoon of coconut flour because I forgot to drain my sauteed cabbage. Coconut flour absorbs liquid. Adding this also kept the shape of the patties and from falling apart. My first batch was just almond flour and they struggling to stay together due to all the extra moisture from the cabbage. Also I did not have any sour cream for the full sauce. Sub it with my full fat Greek yogurt. Sauce for Pattie was 1 tablespoon of yogurt, sprinkle of dill salt and pepper to taste. I will be making this again. My advice don't be afraid to try and make subs that fits your lifestyle. I appreciate bloggers who share their ideas and talents. If it is not for you there are other recipes out there. Let's remember to be kind everyone. Life is too short. Thanks for the recipe.

Buy some Apricot pits, 7 for prevention but more if one has cancer. They have cyinide in them which will go to the cancer and not harm good cells. Usually one should eat only enough pits as one would eat apricots. CBD oil I would do as well. Sour sop fruit or better yet the powdered extract may help. It goes by the name graviola. Stay away from GMO food. A very powerful treatment is oxygen. You can get that with ozone. Cancer does not like oxygen. One can get ozone by a doctor who does it and then administers it into the blood stream or by yourself through rectal insufflation if one has the equipment. god Bless

May I say how nice it is to read so many positive and friendly comments. This is a great recipe
    It gives me ideas
Elizabeth Shaw I like roasted everything too. I never peel onions before roasting. I just cut a slice off the top, put 4 slits in the top and pop in the cracks some brown or raw sugar. and pour a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar over too. i love caramelised onion and not peeling it saves tears and the skin is easily removed. For a more rustic look leave it on.
Some honey mixed with a little olive oil and black pepper on whole carrots then roast is delish.
Cabbage roasted is great too, but for this recipe I think I agree it might be better boiled. I would add some grated carrot, a chopped mild chilli and some tiny bits of cauliflower partly cooked. I will use a little plain ( all purpose to USAj flour instead of semolina but that’s just my preference.
My last idea...instead of making balls and frying, press into a shallowish tray or dish and bake, sprinkle some cheese if not vegan ....(but it did have eggs so vegan is out anyway) and a light dusting of paprika over the cheese. I have made myself hungry! 🍕🥞🍞🌽

Thank you for the great recipe. It's not always easy to make something tasty with cabbage. Basically how I made mine , based on your method, was to lightly fry ,instead of boil, the lettuce. I think veggies have a lot of water in them to begin with. I then fried the onions and added a bit of seasoning to them. I however think that the amount of semolina/flour needs to be a bit more as you need to be able to mould a good veggie ball. I think if it was more doughy , you may want to bake it. Anyway ,I cooked it on a medium heat until brown. It came out great. Thank you once again.
By the way, your music makes me want to watch Lord of the Rings 😅.

Boiling cabbage in that amount of water probably makes it tasteless. I cook cabbage all the time with little water. First I saute onions and garlic in olive oil, then add shredded cabbage together with grated carrot, then add little water just to soften but keeping it crunchy. It always tastes great. To do patties I will just add eggs to mould and then fry .

RainsWorld VegasSlots that’s a great idea. I really dislike quinoa - I bought a huge bag of it at Costco- cooked it up the way I’d cook brown rice and just could not eat it. But- people say when it’s mixed with other things it’s pretty good.
I wonder how couscous would do.

ohmercy I understand. Yeah it’s not something you just eat a spoonful of it’s something you sprinkle in salads or soups or add to things like this. It may look or remind us of cous cous but it’s not it’s pure protein and a Super Food . It’s beautiful I love to use quinoa in tabbouli which is great on top of hummus and pita bread 😋 yum

For a Vegan version of this you can use soaked ground up flax seed or lentil puree as the binder- Rather than the egg.
And if you want to avoid the oils you can blend up Avacado & two cups cashew milk for a whole foods butter with higher nutritional value.
Did this recipe with purple cabbage as well, took the left over water from cooking and simmered some lemongrass and hibiscus for a really high antioxidant tea.

Cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, carrot- so many other veggies can be used. Or added to the cabbage. I would suggest oven roasting the cabbage (veggie) a more dryer way to precook. Great presentation! And brilliant idea! To Keto add grated cheeses and omit the Semolina. ; )

Roasting will eliminate that excess water...PLUS...it will add a richer deep flavor. : ) A caveat for you...I don't have a cooking channel...perhaps the idea of roasting the veg instead of boiling is the reason why! Ba ha ha! Maybe a huge fail. : ) Proceed at your own risk!

@@b.walker5955 you need a little of that water to help hold them together. The Cabbage will be bone dry and lose much of its flavor that way. It's no labor to let it sit in the strainer while you cut the onions and garlic and parsley for sure on it twice and then go do the other things it will be drained and cooled by the time you get back to it. I am a fan of trying the recipe the way it's written the first time and then tweaking it if I don't like something what think something would be better after that. I write cookbooks and I think it's a nice thing to do for the person who takes the time coming up with the recipe to make their recipe first. I wrote a Moroccan cookbook and everybody said I added a hot pepper to give it some Zing I added hot pepper sauce to bring it up a notch well Moroccans don't like hot pepper and if it was meant to have saying will be brought up a notch. I would have said so and there would have been hot pepper in the recipe you see?

@@elizabethshaw734 good point my friend. I stand corrected. However, I do love to roast my veg. I find it takes on a more robust intense earthy flavor I never over do so there is plenty of moisture. And I WOULD also roast the onion!!! Since I am adding cheese it will be my binder. And there is very little I boil. I utilize steam method, but I don't drown. : ) The generation before me boils everything and I just cringe when I see it. The great thing about this digital format (non printed) with the real time comment section we can all add our experiences and share opinions. I rarely use the recipe as presented...I find it interesting in the substitutions and creative ways we all attempt to achieve our nirvana. Since I don't do wheat I am unable to follow this recipe as written anyway. Isn't it fun to watch a video like this, go in your pantry and search for similar or like items and come up with something your own? It's all good. No ill will intended. Cook and be well my friend~
