Most of the time, I think Anakin's path as the Chosen One was one that the Force had planned out for him, not one that the Jedi or Sith had in mind. The Force has a will of its own, just like Obi-Wan said that it obeys your commands, but it also controls your actions.
Plus, the fact that Anakin is the "Chosen One" should be proof that the Force has a will of its own. I even remember in KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords, Kreia herself said that she hated the Force because of it having a will of its own and bending others to it, sacrificing many lives for the sake of balance. Clearly, she had knowledge of the Chosen One prophecy.
I fully agree.. He was meant to fall, so a new start could be possible...

I love how you changed it from Anakin looking at Mace Windu to looking at the Sith Lord realizing he's killing his baby and is about to lose it!
In a way he wasnt bad at all. He only turned bed because of fear. He was always good inside he just thought of himself as a bad person. Luke was right

Also, the Jedi inadvertently helped in his turn to the Dark. They were largely hypocrites to their ideals and Qui-Gon saw this as Anakin did.

thing's could have turned out so very differently for Anakin if he had of listen too Obi wan when he tried to warn him about palpatine . people can bash Obi wan all they want but he clearly care about Anakin deeply and did try to be there for him as much as possible. But in the end it just didn' t seem to matter to Anakin that Obi wan and Padme loved him.

Hi there! Anakin can do that only because of the love of his son. He was into the Dark Side and couldn't come out , Luke gives his life to save his father's soul, to get him to the Light. Eventually he succeds, but he was about to die. He didn't mind, just wanted to save his father, sister and friends

Darthjamek - I have no idea what you're talking about, but in Ep I, Anakin was 9 and Padmé 14. In Ep II, Anakin was 19 and Padmé 24, and in Ep III, Anakin was 22 and Padmé 27.

I think that Obi is probably a more tragic character than Anakin. And FAR more noble.

@windstrider83 how? Anakin/Vader is the tragic hero. Loses everything in Episode 3 (his wife, he turns to the Sith and alienates himself from the Jedi, his body, himself) and gains it back with Luke's help when he defeats Sidious. Obi Wan was a protagonist throughout the whole saga, Anakin/Vader served as both a protagonist and antagonist

while Anakin was not as able to resist the darkside as Obi wan was Obi wan loved Anakin he was Obi wans little brother in everything but blood and name and as such obi wan found that he couldn't kill Anakin/ vader in the end despite being ordered to by Yoda because despite what Vader/ Anakin had done Obi wan loved Anakin so he crippled him instead of killing him and decided to let force decide if Vader/ Anakin should die or not . plus what people often forget is that Obi wan had touched the Darkside of the force when maul killed Qui gon and Obi wan cut maul in half. Also Obi wan had lost so many people that he cared about by the time Anakin turned that Obi wan had long since learnt the cruel lesson that death is a part of life and had accepted sometimes loved ones die no matter how you try to protect them from death.but Anakin had always refused too accept that death is a part of life and so when Palpatine told Anakin that he could stop Padme from dieing if he turned to the darkside Anakin foolishly Believed palpatines lie .
