- In this video we try to answer some of the questions we've been receiving regarding why we would choose to sell our house and suffer through the hardships of living in tents at a campground. The past year has definitely not gone to plan, however we are still pursuing our dreams of full-time travel and enjoying the adventure as we go. #camping #tentcamping #campground

We have been asked a lot of great questions about our lives and why we sold our house and are living in tents. We really do have a plan. 😀
When it’s all done you guys are going to have an awesome setup
@@oz2151 Thank you
We hope it all comes together
Awesome looking tacos.
They were yummy.
In spite of your challenges you have persevered and maintained a joyful family life.
Thank you! We really appreciate the encouragement.
👍💯
@@jimgraves6464 Thank you
That explains a lot. You guys have been on a ride. I hope you are able to live your dreams soon.
@@planboverland8736 Thank you!!! We are trying.
Ice latte looks amazing
@@Kelly-oy8zc Thank you!!
We were at Jellystone for the Tiffin event in August. It's an awesome place, but the damn trains are so loud.
How long have you had your turtle back? Everybody at the Tiffin event was oogling at our turtle back. After we left larkspur, we ended up in the flat top and then flipped the trailer over. It's still roadworthy, but it's getting fixed in a few weeks. We would absolutely love to connect with you guys. There is a turtle back event in Tennessee next week. Can you make it?
We might be back at the Jellystone in the next week or two. We are kinda stuck in Florida. But we are making the best of it. We have had great time with family.
Would love to see your TB. Ours is a 22’. We had their demo trailer for about six months prior.
@@TsarTrailwe are in NC today, and then headed towards Michigan. Just spent 3 days at Expo East.
@@Derek-OverwaterOverland Expo in Va?
We had hoped to be there.
Trailer looks good and those tacos too. Wow…….we all missed regular videos of Natalie’s cooking
@@VDawg-cr1gb Yes, we need more of her cooking. 😊
@@TsarTrail well I don’t doubt you guys will be overlanding and cooking like that on the regular soon
@@TsarTrail indeed. Also need more of you guys showing us cool places we never thought to visit before. You guys have been to some amazing campsites over the years
@@VDawg-cr1gb Soon… we hope😀
@@VDawg-cr1gb There are sooo many more to see. We have a list.
So maybe you answered this a million times but why the tent? Those rigs cost as much as a travel trailer. Why not a nice mid size trailer?
@@OneStrangeJourney Great question. We wanted a trailer that is very capable off road and function well at a National Park, State Park or Campground. Every trailer has its trade offs. For this chapter in life we have chosen a small off roader.
But the future may find us in a live in off road trailer.
Thank you for the question.
I'm really hoping your H3 works out but I will be completely honest with you. The more you modify a vehicle the less reliable it becomes, especially when you add more horsepower or significantly change the drivetrain. Add in that vehicles that are over 15-20 years of age also start to have issues with plastic parts failing due to time, vacuum line issues and wiring issues due to corrosion. The more people you have work on the H3 the more chances that you'll never figure out the wiring gremlins, overheating issues, etc. IIRC, you supercharged the Hummer.....actually this is the worst thing for an off roader that will be towing.
If you had a magic ball to know what challenges the H3 would have created, it would have been far less expensive and less emotionally draining to start with a newer vehicle. My recommendation for a very capable "off roader" would be something that comes from the factory with both front and rear selectable lockers already installed.
This would have included a Jeep Rubicon, Ford Bronco, Colorado/Canyon ZR2 and possibly the Ford Ranger (don't know which have front lockers). These vehicles still have a good size footprint for off roading and are very capable out of the box. You don't want to have an issue on a trip and have mechanics or shops say they have no idea where to start with your H3 because 60% of the parts are not even close to being factory. I'm old and have been through this multiple times....the emotional toll this takes on you (not to mention financially) can be devastating.
I'm saying a prayer to the automotive gods that your H3 turns out perfect but you need to be prepared to consider other alternatives.
@@georgecarousos6735 Had we known this would have been such a difficult project, we would have done things differently. Either a different engine for the h3 (6.2 LS) with no supercharger. Or another vehicle. One with serious towing capabilities.
But, here we are. 😁
