this Video Needs to be treated well Best REVIEW 10/10
This can be a very good solution to end homelessness and any person on a budget, cities governments needs t o look into this, I bet is cheaper than keep people out on the streets.
The system wants people in debt slavery. What good would it do to have people not needing to borrow money?
Most homeless people in US are drug addicts. They need rehab first. Even if theyre in homes they would still find a way to be outside doing drugs.
Instead of putting the migrants from Mexico in hotels at the cost of working Americans....they should make them container homes.....and put a housing area on government land not being used.....off the grid concept, water catchment for their gardens....seeds and they can learn to be self sufficient.......of coarse BIDEN WOULDNT LIKE THAT.....
@@rmbarnes672 💯
You can't end homelessness by building small homes.
Very generous of you to do a cart at home depot to help people
Extra blessings coming your way! Sending you my Heartfelt Love and Gratitude
I love it but I’d like to have a rear emergency escape hatch/window.
and fresh air exchange. Was there a fan / vent in the bathroom? Also a few outlets and battery charge station would be good.
You can lock the doors open with titanium chains and locks weeved in the door hinge cracks so nobody can close it on you
@@noctilucent7396 could someone add their own lock/chain to the outside and lock you into the container?
A Murphy bed with a desk on the front side would be perfect
I like this because my property is remote, so I could close the container doors and secure it from break-ins when I m not there.
Yes! Home Depot shipping cart and step-by-step DIY vid would be great. Like what you are doing with the shipping containers. Also like that you are using new containers rather than the typical beat-to-death used containers.
New "one trip" containers are $3500 or less. Fyi
would love to see the HD cart as well as videos from the build, especially framing, plumbing, and lighting! great video dudes.
I look up to this guy as a business role model. This is a very honorable project as someone who is been through homelessness 4 years on and off the topic is near and dear to me and I really want to help others as much as possible I was lucky enough to be one that didn't have my life destroyed by the streets so of course I want to help anyone I can.
Share the cart!! Would be awesome to see.
These could be very helpful in a lot of circumstances- low income, college kids, Vets, ect- you are awesome!
Yes, you are that cool. Another amazing shipping container home created.
Good low cost cottage or even a temporary home. Rent in Toronto averages around $2000+ per month, upwards of $4000/month if you live in Vancouver. If people can grab a small piece of land the container would pay for itself in less than a year and then you are living rent free so you can save money for something larger. Great job guys.
Like the idea of using the original hardwood floor.
I flipping love that idea !! Can go with a 40’ even tho it may seem like a dungeon but paint it all white inside with lots of LEDs.
Hahaha there you go, also serves as a just in case bomb shelter too 😉
Containing Luxury : Would love to know if they allow these container homes in the Golden Gate Estates area in Naples
@@ContainingLuxury do you have the Home Depot cart to share? I've been looking for it, but haven't found it. Link please?
The #HomeDepot cart idea is fantastic! Wish I had a home depot in #Trinidad, lolz, the list would still be extremely helpful! Thanks again @containingluxury!
Trinidad huh, I'm curious are you making one there?
Thanks guys. Seriously. You’re helping folks out.
Would be nice to see the back end where the utilities are mounted. Also how the drain lines are run. Electrical panel.
Any pictures and/or replies to this?

Arguably the most important parts like this are never covered
Yes!!! Please share the cart!!!
Yes, please ♡
Yes please the cart
Super cool!
Your videos are informative, keep it coming!
Tanks👊🏽
I wish you had put a small cranking 12x12” in bathroom ! Crank it open for showering or airflow
It makes a difference
That would be nice! We don’t have hot water so not too worried about the steam for us, but yes that would be a good idea for a build!
Small wall mounted solar powered dehumidifier is what I plan to put in mine.
@@ContainingLuxury You need at least an on demand hot water heater then.
Awesome sharing the Home Depot cart. Love You....
Absolutely great!! Yes please share this material list!! Awesomeness
Thanks for all of the awesome content you share !
Great video! So glad you're done with drywall. Look forward to seeing whatever comes next.
This is THE BEST video i have seen yet of a DIY container build. WOW just amazing. Thank you!!!!
Nice and simple , great job
Very cool brother. Thanks for sharing!
These videos have been really helpful in understanding making a container home. Thank you so much for the content
This is nice and simple and perfect for many situations.
You are genius. This is best money you can spent on container shelter.
Congrats.
Oh! Yes! Please Shopping Cart would be Awesome seeing how I live in Australia! My Bro says this is all he needs! lol!
Love the idea by the way, better than cutting the steel and adding windows and openings. Love it and awesome way to convert a container into a dorm/office space.
Right around 4 min in i'm like "Did he just use a scaffold for a bed!?" haha nice👍👍 Never seen that one before 👍👍
i am dying at the couch lolol
This looks like a near exact replica of a jail cell I spent some time in.
I am in the process of converting an old 20ft shipping container in to a potting shed/chicken coop. I love the potential shipping containers offer!
I would like to see the 40ft minimalist double opening build like this with just the addition of a kitchen, sitting area and one large window over the kitchen sink. I’m looking to purchase something like this for a future homesite.
Thanks for the video man! Great job
Great idea and affordable 💕
What a great professional channel you have here. I have always wanted to build a 40 ft container home for a vacation spot. Been talking about it with the wife for a few years now
Congratulations!!!
Thanks! Very helpful!
This is great I think using the wood instead of drywall for me personally. I would’ve been creative with the accent walls and the roofing to cover the seems but the layout definitely would use it. Especially for like camping or something or Airbnb. The door though definitely would’ve used the patio door with blinds inside which would bring in more light. Its a great idea though
I LOVE the cart build.❤
Amazing. Way more room than I thought would be in there, and that bed idea is amazing. Props to the inventors. Damn, I hope the algorithm blesses this channel.
Here we go again! YES... Thank you for the info and for your video. Very lucky, you didn't decide to go army mood... That would be the biggest mistake of your life... Have a good day!
I really like this project.
Very cool.
***there is a man who is a sailor/ boat builder.
I believe he's from Australia or the UK and he has his build on RUclips.
He had a shipping container that opened from the side (1 end) and also along the length of the shipping container.
He built an interior door w/window like you did here and then he opened the doors of the length of the container and built an interior wall of sliding/folding glass doors.
He could close the doors and it looked like a regular shipping container from the outside until you opened all of the doors.
The interior looked like a sailboat.
When he closed all the doors he could move it anywhere; across country or overseas, because it had no change to the external structure.
That is my goal for my home.
When the storms in Florida come I just close up my house.
We love that! The fact that these structures are easy to close up and go into "bunker mode" is why we think they are an awesome solution to the safety problems posed by tornadoes and hurricanes. Our units are built with impact grade windows and doors to help with this as well.
I’d love to see how you guys do the plumbing
Exquisite!
Great video! I look forward to you sharing the cart. I built my Shop\barn out of shipping containers using many of the same techniques you used. I like this design for a small living quarters. Would be something I would be interested in doing on my hunting land.
We are actually going to be building some hunting cabins for sale! They will be about 15k each but will have full bathroom and air conditioning, LED lighting, very similar to this build. The 10k on this was just our cost and DIY price
The channel is “Containing Luxury” and sure ‘nuff, you contained ALL the luxury in that wasted space bathroom. From hardware store gulag to gilded shitter, this place has it all.
A few years ago these containers were $2000-$3000 every day in Houston.
You're awesome! Really enjoy your videos :)
Very informative!!!!!
I don't know if you ever though about offering these containers to affordable hotels all over the Caribbean. The bunk bed (made out of a scaffold is a brilliant idea) can be offered in queen size at the bottom, making the top as a storage area. Just a crazy idea from an old guy,on a budget, who loves simply an uncomplicated things in life. Greetings from Toronto.
Hi from Mississauga lol also setting one up now. I went with a ventilite door which has glass with a screen for more airflow for the same price. Can add cheap blinds or blackout curtains afterwards.
Wow Looks awesome..
you have a deadbolt for added security.
With the hinges on the outside of the door.
haha
Perfectly awesome"
For safety/fire reasons i would want another window in the container.
Yes it's been a while!
We missed you. Lol
I love it 😍
Good work!
Great idea for kids who are coming out of the care system at 18, and thrown onto the streets with nothing but a garbage bag of their belongings. Would be great to have some land and have 50 of these pods 25 female/25 male and have workshops for them on how to transition into the real world and give them life skills!
great ideas ! i like your attitude !
Nice!!!!
I love the video and support of the military a list cart is a very good idea
Hey Wsup guys! Awesome video! Yes I’m interested in the Home Depot cart of build of materials 🤙🏼
Awesome
Well done
You are the man 👍👍👍👍👍
That would be a sick video series I have a lot of land and I’m thinking of putting something like this in areas around the property
The waterproofing peaked my interest. I'm currently in MA, but plan to move to maybe FL, so knowing they get hurricanes often, that feature sounds very handy. Wonder if that could be applied to larger container homes, like 2 40ft containers welded together.
I'd be more comfortable with and extra entry/exit. With the door opening outward someone or something could block you in. The simple layout is nice for multiple uses.
That was my first thought. Someone could just close those doors and lock you in.
Just put a lock in the door and you cant shut it. I keep mine locked for that reason. But two doors would be nice.
@@jasongreen9824 that doesnt change the fact someone or something could block it
The glasses comment 😎😉
Would like to see the Home Depot list. This is awesome!
Awesome video. I wish I had connected with you when I had my first container.
Looking to get a new one. And I love the simplicity of this design.
I'd go smaller bathroom tho.lol
Great build. Looking to build homeless veteran spaces and small home communities. One thing you can do to save heating and cooling costs is to use a 4-head mini split system and 4 units share one condenser. Using a 40' container and making 2 units end to end would save costs too. Using a sliding glass door for entry (or locking french doors) could add more light as well.
Also, having the bed fold up against a wall or pulley up to the ceiling would make a small area much larger.
The problem with multi-zone mini-splits is that if some tenants want to heat and some want to cool, those that want to cool will lose out to those heating.
Love it. How do you maintain property humidity levels inside when the container is closed up for long-ish periods of time, say, as a vacation home?
I'm working on my first 20 footer now.
How would you recommend attaching fold down bunk beds to the framing for a hunting container cabin? Would you not reccomend?
Very nice work guys! Im currently building a double door on both end 20' container cabin myself here in DFW. Insofast rocks! Also, you are spot on with the cost of this stuff. Where in the world did you find that scaffolding? I need to put bunks in and cant find 36" wide scaffold to save my life! Its all to narrow and too short. I dont want the 60" wide kind and dont wanna break out the welder either. Thank you and keep up the amazing videos!
that is a roomy shower. Though it would look more impacting with those clear acrylic panels that slide instead of a shower curtain. Then too would a curtain without a tub side or raised bottom to have a small wall keep the water droplets from escaping the shower area to the floor or side wall?
Have you seen the double wide shipping container build from “The container guy”? great work. Thanks for sharing.
ty, sir.
Nice & efficient.
Now, SPILL IT! Ready to hear the big news! I feel like my 5 yr old self in the back seat of my father's car asking, "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? How much further?"
Hahahaha sorry it’s still coming! Good news is west have a place for people to stay if they want to come down and learn how to build as well soon!
Containing Luxury interested
I want one!
YOOOO!! I discovered you last night and so far seen about half of your vids. I LOVE THEM! DO MORE, LOTS MORE! And thank you
PS. I'm in the process of selling my house in GA and I'm moving back to SC but I can't find anything that I like for what I'm willing to spend. Henceforth, alternative housing. I wish you would show a couple of different configurations (not just a walk thru), as in; build one! For example, side by side with middle cut out. I've already got a volunteer welder. Or advice if not a build. Please and thank you.
Have you considered an electric point of use water heater for the shower?
I have lived in Florida the tap water is pretty warm and refreshing, except in winter
What about the mechanicals? Are they just exposed outside the bathroom wall? Are they on the roof? Is it an on demand water heater or a full tank? This vid needs a followup/part 2 with a walk-around to see this stuff.
Everyone makes these videos for fluff and show they don't show the real needed important stuff
looks good my only concern one way in out no windows what about fire ?
Great idea! Currently planning a 700 sq ft Small Home with a 40' and a 20' CC as two of the walls. The 20' CC will be my daughter's Tiny House, we will definitely use some of your ideas here!
What did you insulate with?
Would've liked to see the pluming and electrical hookups on the outside of the container. Do you have any videos that show them? If not how 'bout a how to video showing how easy it is (or isn't) to work the hookups for people that might be moving these around a lot.
These topics are rarely discussed but oh so important
Plz share the cart
THANK GAWD! 😇
NEVER AGAIN USE DRYWALL! 🤨
PLYWOOD WALLS FOR THE WIN! 👷♂️
Looking forward to more videos and the shopping cart. I’m going to build one as a guest room/house for my in-laws. I also have husband who has a trucking business and can transport them. We just bought a trailer that will move these easier. Moving containers isn’t his favorite. He mostly does oversized equipment. I am in Lox near you so if you ever have a local build. Please reach out. I would love to come check it out.
Man I was sunburnt! SPF 100 doesn’t even work in this Texas sun ☀️
Welcome to my state, Blake. Look into Magellan fishing shirts from Academy Sports. They are vented to allow them to breath while also providing cover from the Texas sun.
You forgot to add the links to the other channel that give the inspiration for the bed frame: ruclips.net/user/HomeMadeModern or their own shipping container channel ruclips.net/user/TheModernHomeProject
@@user-iq7rk3lr9f Most folks leave the container doors on. You can close them when you need to lock it up tight. But you don't want them as your main doors because you cannot open or close them from the inside.
Great Work, Great Videos. What do you suggest for a fountain for a container home?
Please build and share that cart. Thank you so much for this video!
Cool
