I’ve been looking at the Eaton diagram for a while trying to figure out how the deep reduction works. I didn’t even think of the larger surface area and the smaller area reacting with the same pressures. Once you said it it dawned on me. Thank you.
Thanks for the diagram! I'm having an issue with my converted 13 speed rtoc1609a. When in a high split going to the next gear in low (after preselect) it grinds and I'm having to feather the throttle a lot more than normal to get into gear. Normal shifting in the 9 speed pattern without using splitter and also while downshifting with or without splitter and no issues. Also notice constant air release from exhaust port when master valve is in high split position. Would a rebuild of this system be in order or could it possibly be an issue with ecm timing due to converting from the 9 speed to 13? Thanks!
I have question!! I have 13 speed transmission but I have problem when I moved the selector to low to high the transmission start grind I don't know what is wrong you can give me some idea about that??
I am trying to replace my orings, however when I removed the 4 bolts I cannot get the splitter cylinder to come out, it’s loose but acts like it’s still stuck to the fork. Is it even possible to pull the splitter assembly off by itself or do I need to remove to entire auxiliary trans/ rear ended if tranny to disassemble and change the orings?
When I shift lower 4th to The Higher 5th it grinds. I have to play with the accelerator to get the RPMs just right it's been doing this the last couple months is it the external shifting mechanism or the synchronizers
I has A problem with my 13 speed Eaton High and low shift today. Please help Me trouble shoot it. I'm in the middle of nowhere now. What causes this problem?
The 10 speed can either have a split of the main case or a range of the main case. The difference is in the pattern. If there are small (half steps) in the gearing sequence than the main gears are being split. The ratio changes would be limited to about 15% at a time. Otherwise if it goes 1-5 in low than 6-10 in high then the transmission has a range cylinder.
The Aux transmission of a Commercial transmission has a range and a splitter. That means the main box ratio can be increased for each gear by the ratio in the range or the splitter. This allows a 5 speed main case to become a 20 speed trans although due to design factors with bearing supports, they become 13 or 15 or 18 speed transmissions. The splitter will change the ration about 15-20% and the range 30-40%.
I’m glad they can be helpful to you. As a Sait instructor I am trying to make sure you get info that is accessible and can help your textbooks make sense. There are more videos on the way, but let me know what kind of material would be most helpful.
Studying for heavy ASE T3 and this helps, thanks!
Glad it could help you out.

@@husjego2059 did you figure out the problem?

Me too. Did you fix it? Can you show me how.

The synchronizer in back half
How to change o ring whan it’s already installed on laction
I have a problem With the splitter of a super 10 transmission, its work inverted, when the botton shif is forward make Low gears.

I think mine is leaking oil between piston housing and transmission
Great explanation
I have 10 meritor is that the same system on those meritor 2
No high , only low any suggestions
