  • The CTS Turbo Boss 500 MK6 GTI TSI is back for upgrades. This time we upgraded the connecting rods, LPFP, IE Intake Manifold, and we also did a complete direct port water meth injection kit. We're doing custom tune with Malone / Tunezilla software and are pushing this turbo as far as we can on pump gas. Can we reach the goals, I think so.

    Cool video!!! He must be wanting to go another 100 hp later yeah? The CTS k04x hybrid will get to 400 with the right supporting mods with less lag which makes it more streetable imo. The only thing you need to worry about is the torque curve early on that the K04x is known for but with rods you’re good. Alex from Stratified works magic and really understands the tuning process.

    As someone who just ordered a water/meth kit for my car, this is exciting to see. I knew the Volkswagen man video seemed super familiar and couldn't put my finger on it but the Winnebago man video is a classic! What size nozzles are in on this setup?

      Noodle selection is all based on the setup, power goals, fuel being used etc. Not the same for everyone. This has 5 nozzles.

    Awesome content! One of the couple RUclips channels I like watching. Quick question, what’s the most torque and horsepower can a MK7R with OEM sized turbo and 93oct pump gas? Thanks

      Stock turbo, 93oct.. that info is out there readily available from pretty much every tuning company. Just do a little digging through any of the major tuning companies and you will see what's capable.

    Are you guys using the AEM V3 WMI controller and what size nozzles for the direct port? Looks like a solid build, love seeing the gen1/2 TSI content 😊

      Yes AEM V3 on this one, with a bunch of extras for the direct port stuff.

    im building right now a 2.0 TFSI CRZA from Golf R mk6. So car is full bolt on. Engine will be standard build IE rod JE piston 83mm OEM compression with IE intake manifold and overall with a full head rebuild on supertech sprigetc. Now im not sure about the turbocharger.About CTS Boss 500-600 it seem some units have problem and it fail. So for a bolt on solution what you guys suggest. Target is 500 HP crank. No meth for now. Feel free to do suggestions for other parts of the build. JE or Mahle piston for exemple. Tks everyone.

      I have a boss 600 on my mk5 gti and it’s been reliable. Spools quick too, full boost at like 3800

    I would love to know the details on the water/meth setup like nozzle sizes, and info like what rpm injection starts as well as how power was unlocked by having it?
    I know you did previous dyno pulls, but it had stock previously, correct?

      All specific to the setup, initial fuel used, mixture, and power goals so not the same for everyone. Better fuel enables more timing and more boost. A lot of this power was from timing.

    Is it hard to get e85 where your customers lives ? Here in Sweden almost 9/10 boosted cars change to e85

      It is hard yes, we have to bring it in by the barrel, there is no pump E85 here unfortunately.

    What injectors do you guys have the most luck with on the 2.0 Tfsi engines in the mk6 golf R when going forged motor and gtx3076r? Rs3 injectors seem to be the go to but not sure if there are better options?🤷🏻‍♂️ Ta

      All depends on power goals, fuel being used, WM or not, lots to consider. If you have plans to max out that turbo you want to go all in on your fueling upgrades up front or you will be spending money redoing it when you want more.

      @@COMotorsports yea It is full bolt on running pump gas and WM, big intercooler, fuel pump upgrades, forged engine with upgraded valve springs, all ARP hardware, fluidampr pulley etc. Still stock camshaft and dct clutch’s tho. Dunno if that will hold me back but haven’t chosen injectors yet but was aiming for 500 plus hp and will definitely keep pushing it after that. Not sure if RS3 injectors will keep up?

    what was the total timing 91 vs water meth? just curious how much of a difference it makes

      It makes a lot of difference. You can see it's only making just over 24psi. Most of this power was made with timing.

    thoughts on cts? i’ve herd a lot of mixed reviews when something goes bad they dont care a bit wondering if y’all had any issues + i herd they switched brand manufacturers during covid and haven’t switched back thx random guy on internet

      Hello, dear friend, I recently purchased a CTS BOOS 600 turbo from ECS, the turbo was run for a few days and of course all the assemblies to see that everything is in order before going to the dyno so far everything was fine I went to the dyno to tune the car right from the start we felt that the turbo was not behaving well, not holding a boost and not behaving like a turbo Garrett's after a few hours the turbo started to grind I took the turbo apart and voila I noticed there were no signs of the Garrett company of course I contacted ECS who disclaimed responsibility and told me to contact CTS and I contacted CTS and told them the story and suddenly they tell me that they have never recorded or published such a thing that the core of the turbo of Garrett, sorry, they wrote that the compressor should have 11 blades, and I received 8 in short, I do not recommend getting close to their turbo, as of now, I don't understand why they didn't give me a Garrett turbo core, these are Chinese cores, as it seems, I have never had a Garrett turbo, these are fake turbos like they sent me

      Originally these Boss kits were Garrett Cores, according to CTS's website. However that was years and years ago. So anything within the past few years at least would not be a true Garrett core. CTS's website does not advertise them as being Garrett cores and haven't for a long time.

    400 wheel and basically 400 wheel torque is going to be a RIOT in that sucker!
    Random question, have you guys played around much with the early "timing belt 4.2s" ?? Being as it's Audi stuff, I thought maybe the answer would be yes...

    Just wondering, my old Saab 2,0 liter with some small upgrades gettin 300 hp and 420 NM torque on Ethanol offcourse. Why the low torque numbers? Is it the fuel only?

      Timing, boost, fuel, and tuning all control your torque curve. 420nm is pretty good all things considered. Your hitting 300hp and 300lbs/ft tq with a 2 litre. Very healthy number

      Wait...do you mean the numbers they hit in the video? Theyre probably trying to keep torque low for safety. That's my guess if thats what youre asking

      Low torque lol, you realize this is measured at the wheels. So this would be around 615NM at the crank to compare to your numbers. ;)

      Also NM and lb/ft are two completely different units for measuring torque.

    About how much can be made on 91oct with boss 500 no wmi? With 5th injector from stratified.

      91oct is one of the biggest parts of the problem.

      Less. Fuel system won't support e85 at this power level. 93 Oct on its own isn't enough compared to the amount of water meth is using.

      Not sure what you're referring to specifically, but it just hits 400whp on this setup. Taking any of those mods away will make less power.
