Sorry this is not their full story this is Percilla version. She wrote the book after Elvis passed and was not here to tell his side. Yet this woman divorced him and made a living after he passed off of his name. She acts like a widow when in fact she is the ex wife.
Lisa Marie said in an email that the script seemed 'vengeful". She didn't approve of the tone of this film before she passed. Elvis aside, Priscilla left out a lot of things that would have made her look bad. While they both had affairs and Elvis was obviously far from perfect but neither was Priscilla. Mike Stone her affair partner was himself married and had a pregnant wife. This wasn't in the movie. Last year, Priscilla went after her own granddaughter, Riley Keough in court to contest the will of Lisa Marie after her passing. Priscilla has shown herself to be a ruthless person. This movie that she was the executive producer of is an example. She also demanded to be buried next to the love of her life (Elvis) in the settlement but she also decided to further bury Elvis with this film. If she suffered so much at his hands why does she still have his last name and is living off his legacy?
Being with Garibaldi for 20 years, giving birth to his son, how can she call Elvis the Love of her Life? She changes her stories daily, nothing is true all calculated, Currie Grant wrote a book, Beaulieu paid him not to publish it, why???? The truth comes up slowly but surely

People really gotta understand the times here. In the 1950s, older men getting with younger women was very common. My grandma was 17 when she married my 33 year old grandfather and they lived a long happy life together, I don’t remember much of him other than his amazing smile. When they married she was 21 and he was 31. Plus the guy had been dead for 45 years he can’t even defend himself
I think it’s more of the fact she was 14 not 17, and it really shows in the way she acted. I was a child at 14, and a young woman at 17. There’s a difference and happy for your grandparents but just because it was common doesn’t make an argument for it being alright. My grandma was 17 and my grandfather was 7 years older than her and it was a toxic relationship. So again, just because you have proof of one relationship with a huge gap as successful, does generalize to others. There’s a reason things have changed in law, and it’s not because people were unhappy or it became less common.

The "times were different" thing only apply to medieval times and before that when people died younger and heirs were important. Even then if they married at 12 the custom was to wait to consummate the marriage! Sure not everyone followed that, which is how Margaret Beaufort (Henry the 8th's grandmother) ended up pregnant and widowed at 13. Large age gaps are never ok! I don't care what anyone says. A 17 year old has nothing in common with a 33 year old! The brain isn't even fully formed until around 25! I was a totally different person at 17 then I was at 33. Just because you think it worked out and your grandparents marriage was all blissful doesn't make it so or the norm! Their have been ZERO age gaps that big in my family tree! Not even my great grandparents or before. Just because something happened sometimes doesn't mean it was right then, now or at any time in history! We were the same as human beings all of that time. Also, you don't know squat about the reality of your grandparents marriage! They did not tell their children or their grandchildren the details or if they had problems. Many people did and do stay married but that doesn't mean they were happy! Divorce was looked down upon for a very long time. I think it even affected my parents who definitely should have divorced. They were married for 32 years before my Dad's sudden death and I could tell from observation they were not happy most of that time! I was also verbally told that by both as an adult but I already knew that because I started seeing it clearly around the time I was in middle school. I saw the exact same thing in my grandparents and they certainly never considered divorce ever! Just because people stay married it doesn't mean it is a happy and healthy marriage.

He continued with underage girls and of age women even after they were married. This is well known and documented and it is not a matter of defending one's self, the law is the law! It also wasn't very common. The average age of first marriage was 20 for women and 23 for men. So the average age gap was 3 years. Questionable age gaps were more accepted that's true enough... but not more common. In 2010 the average age for first marriage for women was 26.5 and for men 28.5. So the age gap now isn't much more narrow than it was then.

The original "Elvis and Me" is way better then this one... These actors dont even look a bit like they did in real life. The original on the other hand did an amazing job with the actors and even the set up of Graceland etc was way more real life like... Just my opinion.

When they took liberties with the story they should have added more drama in. The book is wayyyy more over the top and interesting imo. The movie was ok but it basically fell flat in some areas. Especially near the end when we basically got a cliff hanger.
