Laura Willoughby, Elvis made the choice first and early on that fidelity wasn’t top of the list between them. If she wanted something for herself after that, she was just following his map. @ELVIS-2022 what ever your addicted to will become the most important thing in your life in fact it becomes your life it becomes more important than your family and friends For some people it's alcohol and for some it's gambling for Elvis it was prescription drugs .
@ELVIS-2022 Elvis's father was worried the Tom Parker would demand three million dollars as compensation from Elvis if Elvis fired him. And Vernon was terrified of being poor again and Parker would manipulate Vernon's fears. In the end Elvis became Parkers workhorse paying off Parkers massive gambling debts.
Yeah I don't understand why their relationship is so romanticized. Elvis groomed her since she was 14. Her parents allowed her to be with him because he was a famous celebrity by then. Their marriage was forced because other women had dirt on him that threatened to come out if he didn't marry Priscilla. They had a child yet he was still cheating on her after that.
Their relationship is "so romantized" because they were the most famous couple in the world at one time! I believe Priscilla .. fame drove them apart and I don't believe either of them truly loved again. There was no such thing as grooming back then and Elvis was attracted to her looks, his ideal type, she remained a virgin until they married and had their baby nine months to the day they married! @@IBeMelissa
Out of all of the outfits he's worn in the film, Austin Butler kept the black leather comeback outfit. Butler stated, "That was a big one for me. It was a monumental time, so I took one of those."
@jaelayala7248...Elvis never "courted" her. She begged Currie Grant to introduce her to Elvis. He did leave Germany 3 months later to return to Hollywood. She wrote and begged him to bring her over to the states even though he was engaged to Anita Wood. He finally did when she was 17. After that he was stuck. He was forced to marry her and he even tried to leave her when she was 6 months pregnant but the colonel made him return. Finally, she started her own affairs 3 months after Lisa was born. I think they had a few good years but Elvis should have never married.
Who starts an affair three months after giving birth? Aren’t moms exhausted at that point? She knew Mike Stone had a pregnant wife and a two year child and didn’t care.
@Elizabeth-dw6lc In fact, Priscilla during interviews has admitted even through EP wanted a family and children she believes deep down he could never commit to having a family life.
So sad....hard to watch for me. She loved him and tried to reach him. Sometimes, you just can't reach someone no matter how much you love them. He didn't treat her right...
She started dating a Karate expert named Mike Stone, who trained with Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee. Elvis hated that guy so bad, he even asked Red and Sonny west to go over and kill him. They were very nervous about it, thinking of a way to talk Elvis out of it but they didn't have to because Elvis came to his senses before they did and told them he was just talking out of anger and to forget it.

I finally just watched Priscilla (2023). This scene where she leaves is COMPLETELY different from the scene where she leaves in the Priscilla movie. When I heard they were doing an Elvis movie, I thought it would suck. Nobody can do Elvis but Elvis. He is one of the most Iconic people in history. But Austin Butler did such a phenomenal job, he did the impossible. Made us forget what the real Elvis looked like, so the movie had to remind us in the end
This was a great film...So well acted I wish more of Elvis's life would have been included He and Pricilla were only married for 6 years and hadn't been together for many when he died Butler was wonderful
This scene was extremely inaccurate. In Priscilla’s autobiography she says she sat down quietly next to Elvis’s bed and explained how she needed to find herself, it wasn’t just about her need to be loved or her issues with other women it was mainly, about herself and wanting to live her own life. The two were tender with eachother and gentle almost through out the entire process of the divorce. She still loved him. I get this scene was inspired and mainly to get the point across about their failing relationship but it paints Priscilla as just an exhausted housewife who just didn’t want to stick around anymore. It wasn’t just that. And it takes away the entire process of her self discovery and HER personhood, in order to make Elvis look like a victim or hurt.
@@yesthatmousyiris4887 She was 22…she was old enough to understand what she was getting herself into. And considering this took place in the 60’s her age was perfect for marriage.
Their relationship was doomed from the start. Mostly because she had no idea who he REALLY was. When she met him she was a CHILD and he was a famous grown man who had so many unresolved issues. THAT in and of itself is where it should have ended. Her parents should have ended it. But they allowed her to go live with the man. The tap dancing he did to make them think that was in any way a good idea for her must have been something to hear...
@@ivannamanzur1234 he groomed her- like she was 14 when she met him, last name nor millions can´t undo what that does to a child. Try to see it this way: If it wasn´t the Icon Elvis but a nameless grown man around 28 getting involved with a 14 year old would you still say thats good?
@@pendragon1483 Elvis didn’t get with her when she was 14…but ironically a 28 year old man did. You wanna know who? Read the book "Childbride" by Suzanne Finstad.
To think that this very moment in reality was 50 years ago. In a few weeks it’ll be 50 years to the day since their divorce became official at the Santa Monica courthouse. (It’s 9/14/2023 as I post my comment.) Furthermore, In Priscilla’s memoir “Elvis and Me,” where she wrote about leaving Elvis, where Elvis asked her “Have I lost you to another man?” she replied “No, it’s not that; you’ve simply lost me to a life of my own. We’re living and leading separate lives.” Still, whether he had lost her to someone else or not, it was plain she truly had had it with him, his infidelity. Typical of star musicians, especially if they’re already married it seemed; their marriage can never hold a candle to all that sweet praise and applause from all the women in the audience. Like Priscilla was even trying to tell Elvis from the VERY beginning, when for example rumor had it he was seeing Nancy Sinatra, “Elvis, you either love me or you don’t,” and likewise after they got married. He was either going to be a good husband or he wasn’t, and he simply chose not to be. And Priscilla had had it with him, had had quite enough.
You’re absolutely right. But might I also note that not everything was simply affairs and fame. It was said that the first girl he truly fell for intimately and not just “takes out of school” was Natalie Wood- but Colonel thought she was too big of a star for him already. And then another woman he genuinely loved was Ann Margaret. So it’s almost as if he was filling the void with affairs for three women rather than Cilla- even though Cilla was his wife and whom he loved at the time. And I just think that’s so sad for both of them.
It’s always so hard to go.. but perhaps it’s for their best. These men are so broken, though it is not our duty to fix the mistakes of their childhood. I love you and I always will.

Priscilla's dad was Elvis major in The Army, he gave Elvis pills so he can stay awake on night shifts 🥺😬😢 Now Who is to blame for Elvis drug addiction?
I was with someone for a decade and I was still in love with him when I left. I left because of his addiction. Six years later and we are both married to other people, he has a beautiful baby son, and we are BOTH sober. I never stopped loving him--even now--but I had to leave. I wouldn't have stayed sober myself if I didn't. Sober since 05 Mar 2017

Kurt facecial wise looked more like him but acting wise they bith did an amazing job. In Kurt's film he didn't sing any of the songs that was Rodney Mc Dowell who sang in that one. In Elvis 2022 Austin sang in all the early performances and in the later ones they blended Elvis and Austin together. I know the feeling. I gave so much to my marriage. Took care of the children alone while he didn't come home after work. Instead hung out with guys. He had the car. I took the kids and booked a flight out while he was at work. I forgot about me. I was so happy to be free. When he saw me he got mad and said ,You had to leave me to look like that?
Then what happened? Sorry I’m so curious 😢

Oh how tragic, he went out with his friends. Meanwhile, women be cheating with their “friends”, bosses, and acquaintances while her husband is working and when the husband divorces, SHE takes most of the earnings. I swear, women leave for the most simple reasons.
@@ilikepancakes2368you clearly didnt understand a thing she said. The problem is that he wasnt fulfilling his duties as a husband. He may be paying the bills and working but it just seemed like he was married to his friends and didnt care about his WIFE. She was basically a single mother while being married. So glad she left cuz she clearly is too much for him and deserves better.
This is the best damn Bio of Elvis! When she said Lisa needs a Father, an when was the last time they laughed together or had dinner as a Family, an the making love part, I've felt those words. This was such a sad scene. Austin Butler does a convincing performance. It’s like Elvis was clueless with what Priscilla was feeling.
Elvis just was not there in his own life. He was a ghost. He lived to perform as that is what the Colonel had drug trained him to be.
@@AnnaBellaChannel Unfortunately. I mean Parker worked up Elvis by having him perform every show tirelessly so that he could continue to make money off of him without any regard for his health.

@ELVIS-2022 what ever your addicted to will become the most important thing in your life in fact it becomes your life it becomes more important than your family and friends For some people it's alcohol and for some it's gambling for Elvis it was prescription drugs .
@ELVIS-2022 Elvis's father was worried the Tom Parker would demand three million dollars as compensation from Elvis if Elvis fired

This scene ripped my heart out 😢
My heart still bleeds for Priscilla
Yeah I don't understand why their relationship is so romanticized. Elvis groomed her since she was 14. Her parents allowed her to be with him because he was a famous celebrity by then. Their marriage was forced because other women had dirt on him that threatened to come out if he didn't marry Priscilla. They had a child yet he was still cheating on her after that.
@@IBeMelissa it’s only glamorized because they’re iconic - like Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson.

I don't think Elvis ever got over Priscilla leaving him. I truly believe the only 3 women he loved deeply, was his mother, his wife and his daughter.
Elvis was everything to Priscilla she loved him so much despite the fact that he courted her at 14 when he was in his late 20s 😢
He was 24 actually but they did get married when she was an adult
Is 24 late 20s, because I’m 24 lol
This looks totally brilliant. What fantastic acting too especially Austin Butler x
How did he not get an oscar??
So sad....hard to watch for me. She loved him and tried to reach him. Sometimes, you just can't reach someone no matter how much you love them. He didn't treat her right...
You can’t help someone who doesn’t wanna help themselves
She started dating a Karate expert named Mike Stone, who trained with Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee. Elvis hated that guy so bad, he even asked Red and Sonny west to go over and kill him. They were very nervous about it, thinking of a way to talk Elvis out of it but they didn't have to because Elvis came to his senses before they did and told them he was just talking out of anger and to forget it.
Elvis introduced Mike Stone to Priscilla to train her.

This scene was so sad, not sure who I felt more sorry for. A great movie though.
A woman can take only so much.
I finally just watched Priscilla (2023). This scene where she leaves is COMPLETELY different from the scene where she leaves in the Priscilla movie. Him crying, talk about the pills and everything else, how hyped she was, etc. "If I stay i'll never leave" is the only "accurate" thing. I wonder how it really happened.
Love you Elvis 😢😢😢😢

Elvis us no longer around to tell his side … or dispute what’s not accurate.
We only have Pricilla‘s version

This was a great film...So well acted
I wish more of Elvis's life would have been included
He and Pricilla were only married for 6 years and hadn't been together for many when he died
Butler was wonderful
I honestly wouldn't blame she married him when she was so young too young.
@@yesthatmousyiris4887 She was 22…she was old enough to understand what she was getting herself into. And considering this took place in the 60’s her age was perfect for marriage.
It's hard going through a breakup, even for Elvis, who had everything and mostly everyone he wanted on his terms, still had suffered that blow.
And yet she become millionaire because of him
Yet she still have his last name
@@ivannamanzur1234 he groomed her- like she was 14 when she met him, last name nor millions can´t undo what that does to a child. Try to see it this way: If it wasn´t the Icon Elvis but a nameless grown man around 28 getting involved with a 14 year old would you still say thats good?
@@pendragon1483 Elvis didn’t get with her when she was 14…but ironically a 28 year old man did. You wanna know who? Read the book "Childbride" by Suzanne Finstad.

CUZ THIS SCENE REALLY SAYS IT ALL
OMG
To think that this very moment in reality was 50 years ago. In a few weeks it’ll be 50 years to the day since their divorce became official at the Santa Monica courthouse. (It’s 9/14/2023 as I post my comment.)
Furthermore, In Priscilla’s memoir “Elvis and Me,” where she wrote about leaving Elvis, where Elvis asked her “Have I lost you to another man?” she replied “No, it’s not that; you’ve simply lost me to a life of my own.
God bless you all ❤️❤️❤️!!
You have no right to cry over a woman, if you can't be man enough to keep your word and be faithful!
Without fail everyone I watch I have tears 😭
Still think Butler was robbed of the Oscar.
"You still love me" is crazy

It’s always so hard to go.. but perhaps it’s for their best. These men are so broken, though it is not our duty to fix the mistakes of their childhood. I love you and I always will.

Only so much a woman can take-even when in love
I was with someone for a decade and I was still in love with him when I left. I left because of his addiction. Six years later and we are both married to other people, he has a beautiful baby son, and we are BOTH sober.
I never stopped loving him--even now--but I had to leave. I wouldn't have stayed sober myself if I didn't. Sober since 05 Mar 2017
Reminds me of the day I had to make the choice to get clean from drugs walking out on my addict husband because he wasn’t ready to get clean himself. Hardest thing I’ve had to do. Knowing there was that chance he’d choose drugs over our marriage. 6 months into my recovery he finally hit rock bottom and decided to get help. We’re going on 4 years clean

I just never saw him as Elvis. Kurt Russell was a more Elvis. I guess somebody in Hollywood, wants this guy to succeed. As Hollywood goes, it's who you know or who you do. As a true Elvis fan, I cant even give him a 2.
Up until Austin performance the only one I cared for was Kurt Russell. But they Noth did an amazing job. I own both of these movies. As matte if fact the 1st movie acting roll Kurt Russrl had was when he was a little boy and he played the boy who kicked Elvis in the shin for a quarter in the movie It Happened At the World's Fair. I think these 2 actors were the best ever to portray Elvis.
