Oh my god! Same here. I was going to try and do this myself but this is ridiculous what has to be done to do a spark plug change. Gonna pay a mechanic on this one.
Just wanted to thank you for this video! I just got finished with my wife's 2015 which was nearly the same. One of the old ignition coil boots did come off and get stuck on one of the plugs that I had to dig out, but other than that, this video helped tremendously.
This was very helpful I just did my wife van today after watching this. I was going to take it into dealer but saved the money. Thanks for a great video
Definitely a great tip to keep fasteners separated into groups; a trick I learned from my dad is to use muffin/cupcake pans for this. Keeps things from rolling around on top of the cabinet or accidentally getting knocked off and lost.
If you have an old spinning disk style hard drive kicking around, open it up and grab the magnets out of it. You can epoxy them to the bottom of any tin or tray and it will now stick to any steel part. You can drop hardware in it and it doesn't roll around or fall out, and the whole tin stays where you put it. These are usually rare earth magnets too so they're pretty strong for their size. Add a couple magnets if you're trying to hold longer screws or bolts.
That's why I like older cars, it's was so easy for any parts replacement, you did great job all That's just for spark plugs replacement, I have nissan quest 2013 and I thought will be normal for this service
Such a nice job sir! Well done and very informative. I’m in South Korea and about to have a local mechanic do this on my 2012 Nissan Quest. I was wondering how many hours of labor they might charge me. Thanks for mentioning 3-4 hours to take manifold off. Believe it or not, labor is much cheaper in Korea BUT it’s not very cool to take a Japanese made vehicle to a Korean auto shop. Good thing I’ve established a good relationship with the mechanics:-). Bless you!
Hey bro, great videos! Coming to you from London Ontario in Canada. My wife is from Latin America and I went up to her and asked her what chingaderas means - she just gave me a scowl and told me not to say it in front of the kids! Funny thing - we got a new hamster and I told the family what if we named it Homie or Hektor, and they loved it!! lol Mark
Great work! But what spark plugs did you use to replace them? I'm having an issue after replacing my 2013 Quest my van isn't staying turned on, and it shuts down after all 6 spark plugs have been charged! I used Autolite iridium as I wasn't able to find OEM. I've also never had this happen before with any of my other cars, but then again I've mostly worked with American cars is it because Nissan uses another brand, or is there another issue? 🤔 PLEASE HELP THANK YOU!
I wouldn’t use AutoLite on Nissan but that shouldn’t keep the car from staying on. Make sure everything is connected on the intake manifold, vacuum hoses, connectors etc…
I’m trying to find a website that offers great service and repair manuals. Which do you recommend? I’ve tried Emmanuel and it’s no good for me, they sent me a owners manual 🤦🏽
I had to replace my throttle body, intake hose, and MFS on a 2013 nissan quest. Afterward, i cleared the code, but it still ran a little rough. Another code came up. Cylinder 1 misfire. Do i need to replace all spark plugs?
Homie is gettin jobs on his own; without the middle-man (Firestone). Good to see you doin what you do best! --Now get that orange weed wacker (i saw in the background) and go cut the grass.
Hey homie hektor, I have a question regarding my 2014 Nissan Versa..I replaced the front left wheel bearing, and I think I put it in backwards..I got an abs code front right sensor!! Should I be worried?? Is the car safe to drive?? What do I do to fix??? Please help!!
Hi Hektor, Do you mind sharing video on how to change replace VVT solenoid on new Nissan quest? I have 2011 Quest and getting P0021 Code for VVT solenoid. I couldn't find any video on RUclips. Was hoping get some ideas.... Thank you in advance...
Awesome video man ,very awesome. Question, is the 2012 Nissan quest S similarity to the 2016 the one you was working on. You got my subscription loco. Good job 😎🤙
Homi, all I can tell you is to always appreciate your children. My wife and I got married really young age. All four of our girls were smart and heading on to successful lives when one was snuffed out by drugs last week. People, PLEASE pay more attention to your children's lives. Watch out who they date!!!!! Our Selena would still be alive today if we paid more attention to the signs glaring at us!!!!! a 19-year-old woman is dead.
My 2012 never change spark plug, currentlt at 170k miles, the car start having emission error at summer, seems fine at winter, also during uphill start the car barely moving for at least 5 seconds before reving up and moving, also between 1st and 2nd gear I can feel the kicking, not sure why. Around 35 miles per hour i start hearing whining noise, it get louder and louder as I go faster until around 65 mph, it stays around the same noise level from 65 to 80. What would be the issue?
VERY nice video! Thank you for getting me through this job! I laughed out loud when you called that plastic air intake box a "chingadera". I just had it out yesterday to change the battery and I couldn't figure out what the #$% this thing is for.
Nissan plastic will break lol. Doing a taillight bulb replacement is fun on a Quest since you have to take the whole taillight housing off to get at the bulbs. Quickest way to turn a $2 light bulb into a $200 housing replacement when the brittle ass plastic snaps when you try to pop the housing out.
very helpful nice work but man that is a lot of steps to get to , looks like a lot of work and I only have manual tools, I started video excited but now I'm worried lol
Dude you were like I found a bolt I needed to remove and then quick cut (.25 seconds each) removing a half dozen others. Holy crap this is was already an idiotically designed engine we need you on our side lol
Not gonna lie, the more work I do on this van, the less I like it. Just replaced the MAF sensor and it was a bear(no room to work)! I feel like the engineering team heavily favored Nissan and not the consumer.
Know anyone who must have a 2014 quest ? I have a construction job, it looks like I will have a new career working on my stupid van, I can't believe what needs removed for the plugs, just insane
Homie HEX !!! Keep it up g. I been wounded if how to change the sparks on my 11 quest and now I know am g! In detail! Much respects and FUCK FIRESTONE G!!!!
It’s ridiculous how many parts we need to remove in this car to have access to this plugs. If wasn’t this video I’d be lost. Thank you so much!
Holy crap this is INVOLVED. This is what i was hoping to not find out about this job.
Oh my god! Same here. I was going to try and do this myself but this is ridiculous what has to be done to do a spark plug change. Gonna pay a mechanic on this one.
Followed the video to a T.start to finish it took 3 hrs. One of the best videos I have ever watched. Well done Hektor
Thanks for the great video. It took about 6-7 hours, but we got it done. Watching this really helped.
Steven White awesome, next time it’ll take half the time
Great job , your the only person to have a video of replacing spark plugs .
Thanks for subscribing 🤝

Good to see you get back to what got you to the dance my friend, I will personally be buying some merch. Love watching your channel
Good job with the work. Very well explained. You make it look easy.
I'm glad you back at it bro doing the work you love at home.
I am glad to see you working on cars again.... esa es nuestra chingadera man !!! The cars.

This is the best most understandable video I've seen.
I was gonna do this myself, but now I'm second guessing it. So much to dissasemble. I'm too lazy.

Nice to see you back wrenchin’!
Thanks man! My husband is doing this on my Quest right now. SUPER HELPFUL!!!!🎉
Can I star the engine right before we put the cover on the engine? just to make sure everything is ok with the spark plugs.
Curious, how much would u charge for this job? Or compare your price to like one of the shops you've worked in.....
Philly Dee I work at a Nissan dealer and we charge 3.6 hours for any car we have to take the manifold off for. 👍
Nissan's are a pain in the ass. Had this job and a thermostat this past weekend, double whammy.
Wow, so much plastic just to get to the plugs. Great editing and easy to follow steps.
Great job.. But do you really afto remove. The winshield wiper..
Doing this today on my wife’s 2011 Quest. Thank you so much!!!!!

Dam, that’s a great job. I’ll try and do it. Donde encuentro el manifold gasket ?
Thank you Hektor. I have a 2012 model and I'm a bit intimidated with what needs to be removed before I can even have access to the rear spark plugs.
Thank you so much for your detailed video. It helped me big time.

Does the intake manifold bolt need to be torque ?
Hector where can I purchase those, gloves from I like the texture on them
I would've definitely put in 3 new rear coils also, all that work for just replacing plugs,

It’s a 14mm spark plug socket. Che vi the links in the description, I put it there for you 👍🏼
