I have a binder, containing 15 years worth of homebrew races. Everything from goblin sized bipedal house cats, to 9 foot tall Wolfkin with fur that gives a natural AC of 18 due to its steel like quality. I've got intelligent Slimes, Cursed Dragon worshippers, dolphins that swim through the air, and Golems made from trash. And those are just a few of the player races. I've got animals, beasts, monsters, and pets out the wazoo. My personal favorite, is my character Alexei Cronatas, standing a whopping 2 feet, 4 and half inches tall. This bipedal, tuxedo housecat, born to a noble woman who crossed the wrong trickster goddess, traveled with a faithful Gryph, a house cat sized gryphon, and his party of a Half Orc-Half Elf Paladin, a the daughter of a Phoenix and a Tabaxi, the twin sons of a Flesh Golem and an Artificer, and Granny May, an elderly Warlock, who baked cookies, and knit sweaters, while casting eldritch blast into hordes of enemies.
My first attempt at writing a homebrew race was the Camelkin. They got big bonuses to prevent dehydration and the ‘Spit’ ability, a 10 foot range Reaction to give the target disadvantage on whatever attack or ability check they are making. They were fun.
I remember when one of my players wanted to be something akin to the grim reaper so I made one of the weakest races according to my players but when it came to role-playing that uncaring for life and proficiency to intimidation got them through alot of gaurd castles.
This is fun! I love the different races/types. It makes for fun variety. I’m not great at coming up with balanced home brew stuff, but I’d feel more comfortable bringing something already created to the DM for their approval. I am still a newish player and only have official player books for now, but am hoping to expand my library to include supplements like your sponsor. :)
I had an idea for a cool Eldritch Scout race called the Orosai. They are humanoid cyclops creatures with an entire eye for a head. They do not need to eat, drink or breathe, and they do not speak through vocal means. They find creative ways around this, such as telepathy, writing, or creating illusory words. (They get minor illusion as a free spell) In addition, they can create a spectral apparition of their eye, which can fly around and allow the Orosai to perceive through it’s senses as if it’s his actual eye, but it leaves his physical body blind and susceptible to attack. The Orosai also has proficiency in Insight, Investigation, and both him and his spectral eye have 30 ft Darkvision.
I love these ideas and think they are super cool but most of them have too many strong abilities if I were to use these I'd definitely tone them down to match the power level of other races
Yeah, they are all definitely unbalanced. If you want abilities like that you can't have a +2/+2 boost. Plus, the ability to fly from level 1 is a big No No.
Currently writing the third version of a homebrew compendium which I call "Horrors Beyond the Material Plane". And in it, there is a race you can play as called the Terrorspawn (Originally called Nightmarespawn). When a race makes a deal with a Terror Beast (originally called Nightmares before I realized Nightmares were already a thing), which are the Tarrasques of a new plane called the Nightmarescape, the race returns to their waking world. After the usual gestation period of that race, they will birth a race that resembles the birth race. But when they become an adolescent for that race, they will go through a painful, yet quick process of turning into a Terrorspawn. +2 to Strength and +1 to Constitution, one resistance of your choice to Bludgeoning, Piercing, or Slashing damage, 60 feet of darkvision, proficiency with the Intimidation skill, and powerful build. I think it is a neat concept. Though that is my personal bias.
Fun Fact: in real world mythology, the Tarasque (yes that is the original spelling) is described as having the head of a lion and the shell of a turtle, among other things. So yeah…turtle cat. You’re a miniature tarasque.
I made once a monstrosity race called: "halved body" which are essentially two monsters merged into one creature to form a humanoid which can then divide themselves as an action on their turn or as a reaction if an enemy deals more than half your hitpoints in damage, the hitpoints automatically reach 0 and roll all your hit dice remaining divide that amount by 2 and you got the hps for Torso and legs, then each other have some perks due to being separated as well as nerfs, for the AC of each part, it's quite simple, light armor bonus to AC to both parts + dex, medium armor the bonus goes only to the Torso, heavy armor, the bonus goes to both of the parts. They share the same turn, have only 1 action and bonus action, but have 2 movement phases, one for the torso and one for the legs
@@tristanmitchell1242 I based my race on this idea, only that kobolds get pack tactics so they would pretty much get a +5 at this point for pretty much every hit roll (considering a party of 4/5 and the other kobold, so I said, why not create a similar thing only that they need to be togheter to actually have any social interaction and make it so my friends remember I'm the one with a sick and crazy mind to create such things (sick and crazy in the literal sense of the word, one of my friends asked if I could make a... NSFW let's just say it, monster for his campaign that would be seemingly coming out hell's gate, I watched that session and me boyos were terrified, so now I'm stuck as a DM cuz they want to see how much stress I can put on a horror campaign. F my life. By the way the perks I gave to Torso and legs are, powered up unarmed strikes for each (acid spit and leap attack for Torso and a stampede kick for legs), blindsight to one and tremorsense to the other, legs had higher movement speed, Torso had lower movement speed, only Torso could cast spells, Torso could climb up legs so that he would have a higher movement speed and actually use objects (by the way they do not merge in this state, they can only merge during a short or long rest and the total hp you have is the addition of both the hps. When split they count as small size And that's pretty much it P. S. I'm working on a two kobold in a trench coat already, the first race was to put the foundations on what to do and what not to do. I'll send here the complete race when it will be finished, since everyone loves this idea and WOC couldn't come up with a splittable race in all these years
Reminds me of when two of my players played a warforged with two torsoes for a one-shot. They were attached at the hip (like the king or queen in playing cards). Whichever one was flipped downwards acted as the "legs", by walking on their hands. It worked surprisingly well, though again it was a one-shot so who knows how it would have gone had it continued.
Lately, I've been kicking around an idea of race based on a combination of the Immortal Jellyfish and Dave from Kipo Basically a race of creatures that can change into another life state after a long rest and each life state has different stats and abilities, strengths and weaknesses. Something like a mix of Frog life stages and insects - so at your "prime" you get wings and an exoskeleton and at your "weakest" you're a small and gooey/squishy baby but with other abilities similar to an ooze since your exoskeleton hasn't hardened yet
I once saw a Gibbering Mouther Spawn in a site and I thought it was a cool concept... you was transformed into a GMS but retained your consciousness or was a Gibbering who gained intelligence over time. You can have an ''almost''' human form but can surprise your enemies making eyes and mouths suddenly appear in your body Junji Ito style, who fits nicely in a Ravenloft campaign. Pretty cool stuff...
On the off chance you see this, I love your content I see too many people do what you do and take homebrew or way too op items into consideration, you have achievable levels and fun ideas that are "by the book" it's fantastic.
I made an Animated Armor (or I guess a Helmed Horror would be a more apt description) character who was a daemon born of war trapped in a suit of metal armor by a corrupt noble. Ever seen a spellcaster with a strength of 24? It was glorious
My race is the ModForged, a Warforged artificer that spends all its free time modifying itself, at high levels it has none of its original parts still equipped but is itself a walking talking multi use magic item that can do more things in and out of combat than one would believe. By max level the character can actually create more bodies and inhabit them, a hive mind army ready to smack down a Tarrasqur or any other possible threat with their synchronized assaults. Make a robot army for any alignment on the chart, but do note the OG concept one is Neutral Good
Why isn't a Ooze race yet in DnD I don't know... the Oozes are some of the more iconic enemies in the game, and after animes like: That Time I was Reincarnated as a Slime, Monster Musume and etc, Slimes are very popular, or that, or a Beholder or Illithid race, or a Were-Displacer Beast lineage... OoO
@@themontageofscafell5512 Why, you could have a transformation who grant you some of the Beholder abilities for some time per long rest like the Aasimar, or have some minor abilities at the cost of having disavantage in the social skills (because you would look the part) or sunlight sensivity, something like that... ( ͡º ͜ʖ͡º)
@@caranostalgico9249 There aren't really any minor beholder abilities though, I guess you could shoot one rebuffed ray a day or use the anti magic cone for one round but I don't really think it would work. I'd be interested to see if you made a home-brew race for it though
@@themontageofscafell5512 Well, I think you could hover for a minute once per long rest, like 10ft speed. No anti-magic cone, I know is the main thing the Beholders are known for, but or you really cripple it or it becomes too OP. And the rays, which are random keep that in mind would be released by levels: 2 in the 1st level, plus 4 in the 3rd and the rest in the 5th like the drow spells, or maybe they could be versions of spells of the same level to balance it, once per long rest of course. There is a Beholderborn homebrew race in dandwiki, it needs some adjustments, but is a nice starting point. ^_^
I was literally thinking of a undead monk of mercy I could make but couldn’t find the right race I wanted, I was going to resort to making my own and then found Ghost in this video. Thanks for the save, keep up the great content
I was playing as a dulahan with a flying head Really fun but I never got advantage of the flying scout head, my master only used me as a punching bag as the head and body takes damage independently in area attacks
I made a winged Half Dwarf Half Eladrin Elf who wings doesn't work because of her mix of blood. It was just an excuse to have wings made of leaf (used like a cloak) that changes as my character changed seasons... Best thing that i ever did in my roleplay life.
How about a sentient illusion that is desperately trying to become a wizard so he can recast himself because he doesnt know how long the spell that created him lasts.
I actually had an idea for a race that was small but ignored the penalty of wielding heavy weapons. They would look like gnomes but with dwarf-like muscles and their skin was so rough and dry that it would slowly start to look more and more like stone throughout their life. +1 Con, +2 Str, 10ft Tremor Sense, 25ft speed, the ability to temporarily gain +2 to melee attack rolls (1/long rest for free, second time comes with a point of exhaustion afterwards) and proficiency with heavy weapons. Yes, a racial proficiency in any weapon with the Heavy trait. Born of the Earth and as sturdy as the ground that holds you up, these tiny terrors would often strike out on their own, seeking their own place in the world away from the rest of their kind. Prone to violence and a tendency to strike first, no matter what the situation, they would be a serious handful for any adventuring party to handle. But those that earn the respect of them and teach them how to guide their adrenaline will have gained a mighty ally. Never settled on a name. Any thoughts?
After putting the word "foundation" into a multi-language translator, the word that stood out to me was TEMEL (which is turkish.) Temelings? The word sounds like something small, but translates to something strong.
BTW, for those who didn't know, Wukong as word is actually a name of the famous chinese character known as Sun Wukong, or more like Monkey King. I bet if you read or watch story or atleast what powers he has, you can make it as your homebrew deity, because Monkey God that wrecked both Heaven and Hell is awesome.

@2:51 If you've genuinely played everything you can play in DnD, considering all the possible combinations and races, classes, and DM created possibilities, you must have lived multiple lives already because nobody has that much time on their hands.
I made 4 races of my own, here's some simple explanations for each Blood elf: get a bard can trip and can steal hp Dragonblood: a dragon person with different variants, some get fly speeds and others may get a burrow speed Lefnik: get a familiar that can attack people Owlbek: owl people who don't fly but are great survivalists
Here's one I created called the "Marionettes." (Side note: I have not play-tested this nor do I know if anyone else made a race named as such. Sorry in advanced.) Basically, Marionettes are human-sized puppets made to look like people with the souls of the dead Empowering them, with metallic lower limbs, hands and feet that allow them to crawl up walls and ceilings for 1/2 walking speed. Stat-wise, they get a +1 mod to Strength and Constitution with a +2 to Dexterity, with a -3 to Intelligence. For proficiency, they get a +2 to Acrobatics and Stealth with a +3 to Intimidation, while getting a -2 to Persuasion and Animal Handling on account of how unnerving they can be to look at. Biggest thing is tool proficiencies, however. A Marionette can become proficient in a tool set of choice, having said tool set integrated into their metallic wrists. And that's at first level, with the ability to integrate a new single tool of choice instead of a feat or Ability Score increase at levels 7, 13, and 19. In resistances and weaknesses, they are mainly resistant to Frost, Poison and the Poison effect, Piercing, Bludgeoning, Bleeding, Slashing and Force damage/effects, with weaknesses based in the materials, like Fire, Thunder, Nature, Necrotic and/or Nature Damage. As a bonus, however, they don't need to eat, drink, or sleep. Downside is their lore basically reverts them to being mentally similar to scared and curious children basically. Their background is that they were found in the ruins of a lost metropolis that was destroyed thousands of years ago by some unknown anomaly. The only thing the adventurers skulking the area could find were the Marionettes, humanlike beings made with frames of iron, wood, or the occasional Bone addition to the frame; skin of ceramic, fabric or leather; Hair from horses' manes that seem to grow naturally, with fake eyes of gemstones, glass or even buttons. They had no knowledge as to what happen and only remember who made them: The Toymaker. The Toymaker being a mortal man that made himself into the first Marionette, with his own sull being coated by a wooden mask. Six bronze arms with tools meant to make Marionettes, and a proficiency in magical forging; including making specially designed Marionettes. Some have alchemist tools, some have leatherworking tools, and some even have collapsible weapons in their arms with a foldable disk shield. They were seen as strange but harmless before, but then became freaks and outcasts as soon as their "power source" was located. Something, however, didn't get filtered from their souls, as the Mannequins seemingly possess the scars of their old lives; acting almost erratically to things that cause trauma in people. And they could never tell you why because they never knew why in the first place. Basically, if you want a 9/Tim Burton character in your game, then here you are. Heck, I was planning on using one for my first game: a Fighter dressed in a Nutcracker-style Russian military suit named "Tybalt."
I made a Fox person race called a Kitsin. Yes, the Kitsune is where I got the name. +1 to Dex, Cha, and Int. Bonuses to mental saving throws, Perception, persuasion, and a few other things.
I had a species of sentient plant people. They start out as a plant but start to get part that actually as a nervous system. Then they can take form of something they have seen. They have free wild shape and have plus 3 intelligence. They take double fire damage but gain plus 1 to strength check while in shallow water.
Hey there! Just wanted to say, for some reason, the final ")" is not incorporated into the link for the purple turtle cat (probably a rogue space), so it leads to an empty page on the dandwiki. Just FYI and for anyone who might be wondering.
I made a homebrew Desert Elf subrace: Ability Score Increase: Wisdom +1. Desert Elf Training: You are proficient with the Shortbow, Spear, Javalin, and Scimitar. ( If you want to go with an Egyptian theme, you can replace the Scimitar with the Shortsword). Desert Elf Magic: You know the Mold Earth cantrip. At 3rd level you can cast Longstride once at 2nd level. At 5th level you can cast Blur once with this trait. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability, and both spells recharge after a long rest. This race is divided into many scattered tribes that put more value on tools and water than coin. Their constant clashes with Tlincalli, jackalweres, and Lamia have honed their skills of combat and ambush to deadly precision. While they are mostly nomadic, they do have three main settlements: The Oasis, a sprawling merchant tent city around a large lake and surrounded by earthenware defences. The Basin, a sandstone platou with homes and tunnels carved into it. And The Pyramid, a huge structure and surrounding settlement once ruled by mummy pharaohs, now owned by the former slaves. I designed them to be focused on survival, travel in sandy terrain, and ambush combat. I think they'd make good Rangers, Rogues, Druids and Fighters.
I wanna play as a Wukong artificer that escaped the zoo using a hat of disguise and just say to the party "Did you hear about the gorilla who escaped the zoo? No? That is because I am a very quiet gorilla."
Purple. Turtle. Cat. Purple turtle-cat. I just can't think of a way that that doesn't sound weird, and yet never have I heard something so absurd that I simultaneously wanted to pet, and role play as. What is my life?
Speaking of homemade races, one thar I had an idea for was a sort of warforged corpse hybrid (like a stalker from mortal engines/fever crumb). The main idea would be that some wizardy artificery magic person set up a corpse with some magimechanical doodads.
In my latest campaign I'm playing a home-brewed race called Cursed. Basically you've offended a fae and they've transformed you into a beast-man of some kind. Currently playing as a Cursed Frog, but I think I could tweak it so that you could be a Pig or a Rat or a Wolf à la Beauty and the Beast
My friend and I have been tinkering with a race based on the gems from Steven Universe (this was BEFORE Fizban's was even announced) called the Geoite (but now I think Gemborn sounds better): ASIs: +1 Charisma, +1 in different ability score, and +1 in a subclass dependent ability score. Darkvision: 60 ft Speed: 30 ft walking Resistance to radiant damage. Warforge like benefits (no need to eat, breath, sleep, and can remain alert during a rest (however they can only hear during this time, not see)) Languages: Common, Dwarvish, and a Geoite specific language. Gemstone Rejuvenation: When a Geoite is rendered unconscious (except by sleep), their physical body disappears leaving a tiny sized gemstone. While in this state you cannot be healed by physical sources (healer's kit, potion of healing, est.). However when you recover, if your current HP is less than twice your player level, your current HP becomes twice your player level. There's 3 sub-races as well, but I won't bog down the post with this and we're still working on the details and hope we can add them to a game soon.
I'm simple i made a skeleton race where it's main feature is you can remove and throw limbs that come back after a period of time or when you pick it up manually
I made a cool race called a dragon shifter, they can be any race but they have dragon blood in them so they have draconic features. Ie: Scales, eyes, horns, breath fire and they have 3 sub races: Cursed, Dragon Child, and True Dragon Shifter. Cursed is they were cursed with the blood of a dragon before or at birth and typically they were cast out by the world, a Dragon Child was born of their parent and a dragon and were raised by said dragon, and a true dragon shifter can only be one if the DM says they can and only level 13+ but it let's them transform in an adult dragon of their choice that has their stats, it gives them immunity to fire damage and advantage on saving throws against magic, and they can take one feature from whatever sub race they were before. I'm pretty new to DND but I wanted to make this homebrew race because I have a character I've made in the past this race was inspired by. :)
I made a character that is a revenant paladin. The only real differences between a ghost and a revenant is that the revenant came back to life out of pure rage for being killed or something along those lines, and a revenant doesn’t have to be incorporeal they can be a zombie or skeleton as well (the difference between revenant and undead is that revenants came back for a purpose and they remember everything and almost have free will) My favorite part about a revenant is they can’t truly die, if they are killed they just keep coming back until they have fulfilled their purpose (usually killing the one who killed them originally. Sometimes other people can be added to their hitlist if they were killed a second time and the person is still alive) or if they get banished they have chance of coming back (depends on DM ruling). They can only die after completing their goal. Sometimes dm’s use revenants to mess with the party who killed someone innocent but I rarely hear about players using revenants, it’s kinda sad
Extra points for using images of Rita Farr from Doom Patrol (that scene is from Titans). And I spent years telling people "I'm not a monkey" with my Vanara... 😅
It's even better if sub-race (since as he menioned in the video, ghosts have a base race which was them in life) is centaur, 40 base speed and all the other benefits of equine races
One of my friends made a race that is literally just a pufferfish in a homemade warforged suit. It gave a plus2 to intelligence because you are a fish with knowledge of magic and technology, and a plus 1 to constitution because of how toxic you are. It was super cool because not one suit was the same. You could have one that was built to look like a spidery thing to inflict fear, a super brawny suit with spiked armor, and everything in between!
litteraly making giraffe people who are easy to flirt with, living glitches and Prowlkins gonna have fun with my friends gonna be really fun lets hope god i hope
I did actually use a custom race I made up once, I had made it's features weaker than some other racial choices and threw in some RPing flare features to make it more fun, but I had to use the Custom Lineage for the Racial Features since the DM didn't want any homebrew.
My homebrew race is artsacraft they have a +1 on every state you can think of and they are like warforged but nefed and buffed at the same time they can be customizable and have unarmed strike bonuses of 3DPS but can depend entirely on what weapon you turned your arm into they can convert inanimate objects into creatures to do your bidding and can shapeshift there class into any other class there is same goes for the secondary races as well but they are highly weak to water if you play males, females don't have that weakness but there unarmed strikes don't have the 3DPS but still very on what weapon you turned your arm into.
This is fun. I remember making a half dragonborne, half Centaur for one character and that shit was so damn cool. The other one I did was a half Orc and half Dwarf. Lastly, I had one I called "Aerokai" which are like flying elves (they got a few strong pros, but also got an AC nerf due to having smaller bones, which gave them a lithe race incapable of getting too big without cuasing serious physical health issues.
I've been wanting to make a half-dwarf/half-orc, for many years. A Dworc. I also had an idea for centaur-like races, based on different animals. A mountain goat, maybe with the upper body of a dwarf. With a +2 the dex and +1 to str. A climbing speed equal to its walking speed, because mountain goats can climb, and have great balance. How about a moose body, with the upper half of a half-orc? A deer/halfling, a gnome/sheep, etc.

You don't wanna play the Ghost Harambe Palli?
That sounds like a great class. Now we just have to rework it a bit, and reach the legendary "two kobolds in a trench coat" race.
When split they count as small size
And that's pretty much it
I want to play this lol
What is STDS an acronym for?
I shall play as a mannequin for the spook factor.
Specifically specializing in stealth so I can be like that one SCP.
The startling statue or the one that crumbles?
I was always under the impression that oozes needed to eat to replace lossed ooze. The plus is you can eat just about anything
Also why the heck is the ooze person faster than normal? Ooze are notoriously slow.
Angry flying grapefruit?! You sir, are a genius!
Would love to see another video exploring some more cool homebrew! Maybe some more races, or maybe some cool homebrew subclasses too!
Lately, I've been kicking around an idea of race based on a combination of the Immortal Jellyfish and Dave from Kipo
Basically a race of creatures that can change into another life state after a long rest and each life state has different stats and abilities, strengths and weaknesses.
Something like a mix of Frog life stages and insects -
so at your "prime" you get wings and an exoskeleton and at your "weakest" you're a small and gooey/squishy baby but with other abilities similar to an ooze since your exoskeleton hasn't hardened yet
I once saw a Gibbering Mouther Spawn in a site and I thought it was a cool concept... you was transformed into a GMS but retained your consciousness
or was a Gibbering who gained intelligence over time. You can have an ''almost''' human form but can surprise your enemies making eyes and mouths suddenly appear in your body Junji Ito style, who fits nicely in a Ravenloft campaign. Pretty cool stuff...
Nice. Tried to do a doppelganger variant that could do something similar (limited use), but that was the game that never was.
Make a robot army for any alignment on the chart, but do note the OG concept one is Neutral Good
So basically a warforged version of a simic?
Why isn't a Ooze race yet in DnD I don't know... the Oozes are some of the more iconic enemies in the game, and after animes like: That Time I was Reincarnated as a Slime, Monster Musume and etc, Slimes are very popular, or that, or a Beholder or Illithid race, or a Were-Displacer Beast lineage... OoO
A beholder race? I don't see how that could be op
@@caranostalgico9249 I suppose
I was literally thinking of a undead monk of mercy I could make but couldn’t find the right race I wanted, I was going to resort to making my own and then found Ghost in this video. Thanks for the save, keep up the great content
The invincible intro threw me through a loop, I love it
i made a class that was a crab, it was tiny, +1 to dex and con, darkvision and could stealth near any natural body of water
2nd: *cough, COUGH! Plasmoid, COUGH! clough.
Dangit, a sponsorship worked on me! I'm now looking into purchasing that book, it sounds amazing!
I was playing as a dulahan with a flying head
Really fun but I never got advantage of the flying scout head, my master only used me as a punching bag as the head and body takes damage independently in area attacks
Then we go into platypus races and *puts on fedora and is a rouge* PERRY THE PLATYPUS!
Playing as monkey sounds interesting, if I could do it in a more sci-fi themed campaign.
“They blew it up!”
"Did someone say Peanut butter?"
Or, if you wanna be obvious in a Chinese themed campaign.
@@caranostalgico9249 Exactly - was thinking ‘monkey’ monk could be a great young Monkey King.
@@AVspectre Should I tell you that the race is named after _the_ Sun Wukong, the Monkey King (from Journey to the West), or you know that already?
I like the idea of homebrew display, keep it up.
Very very cool races, i really enjoyed this video👍
I once played a sentient hat that possessed a mannequin. Most fun I ever had.
I made a winged Half Dwarf Half Eladrin Elf who wings doesn't work because of her mix of blood.
It was just an excuse to have wings made of leaf (used like a cloak) that changes as my character changed seasons...
Best thing that i ever did in my roleplay life.
... flying grapefruit, got it
How about a sentient illusion that is desperately trying to become a wizard so he can recast himself because he doesnt know how long the spell that created him lasts.
Ok how the fuck did you come up with such a great idea
@@Mr_Ghoulie Yes! Perfect!
I have a race thats just jellyfish from space, so far thats the weirdest ive made
BTW, for those who didn't know, Wukong as word is actually a name of the famous chinese character known as Sun Wukong, or more like Monkey King.
I bet if you read or watch story or atleast what powers he has, you can make it as your homebrew deity, because Monkey God that wrecked both Heaven and Hell is awesome.
Honestly, the relevant official books should have around 100 subclasses.
3 is the best i can do. 2 more if you buy another book.
@@VeryProfessionalGamer I really don't understand why WoTC doesn't write more subclasses (or feats, and backgrounds for that matter) they've got the time, the money, and goodness knows we'd love to have so many options.

I made 4 races of my own, here's some simple explanations for each
Blood elf: get a bard can trip and can steal hp
Dragonblood: a dragon person with different variants, some get fly speeds and others may get a burrow speed
Lefnik: get a familiar that can attack people
Owlbek: owl people who don't fly but are great survivalists
I have never played dnd i know no rules never seen anybody play it and i love this stuff
0:06 "here are fiv-*overwheliming silence*"
Here's one I created called the "Marionettes." (Side note: I have not play-tested this nor do I know if anyone else made a race named as such. Sorry in advanced.)
Basically, Marionettes are human-sized puppets made to look like people with the souls of the dead Empowering them, with metallic lower limbs, hands and feet that allow them to crawl up walls and ceilings for 1/2 walking speed.
Purple turtle cat sounds amazing! I have to play one!!!! 💜🐢😻 Thankyou!!!!
I had a species of sentient plant people. They start out as a plant but start to get part that actually as a nervous system. Then they can take form of something they have seen. They have free wild shape and have plus 3 intelligence. They take double fire damage but gain plus 1 to strength check while in shallow water.
I made my own grey ooze race once, and a string of custom alien species just for the frick of it... Now though; I just want to play a Bear.
Hey there! Just wanted to say, for some reason, the final ")" is not incorporated into the link for the purple turtle cat (probably a rogue space), so it leads to an empty page on the dandwiki. Just FYI and for anyone who might be wondering.
I made a homebrew Desert Elf subrace:
Ability Score Increase: Wisdom +1.
They clash a lot with Tlincalli? That's badass.
I wanna play as a Wukong artificer that escaped the zoo using a hat of disguise and just say to the party "Did you hear about the gorilla who escaped the zoo? No? That is because I am a very quiet gorilla."
Spellforged seems very cool at first, but then i realised dispel magic would basically insta kill you
Good job ending the video on a high note, with the better balanced pair of races.
Purple. Turtle. Cat. Purple turtle-cat. I just can't think of a way that that doesn't sound weird, and yet never have I heard something so absurd that I simultaneously wanted to pet, and role play as. What is my life?
I always love young Deckard Cain videos
Love the Pokémon mystery dungeon music at the end
Speaking of homemade races, one thar I had an idea for was a sort of warforged corpse hybrid (like a stalker from mortal engines/fever crumb).
The main idea would be that some wizardy artificery magic person set up a corpse with some magimechanical doodads.
Backed after watching this, very intrigued by the purple turtle cat
that invincible edit in the beginning was cool
I don’t know what I can say about the end of the video.
Needless to say, the flying evil angry grapefruit will be haunting me for a long time.
My friend and I have been tinkering with a race based on the gems from Steven Universe (this was BEFORE Fizban's was even announced) called the Geoite (but now I think Gemborn sounds better):
ASIs: +1 Charisma, +1 in different ability score, and +1 in a subclass dependent ability score.
Darkvision: 60 ft
Speed: 30 ft walking
Resistance to radiant damage.
Warforge like benefits (no need to eat, breath, sleep, and can remain alert during a rest (however they can only hear during this time, not see))
Languages: Common, Dwarvish, and a Geoite specific language.
The fact that the turtle cats are actually insane if they dump Int (Which a lot of characters already do) is kind of funny.
So who has a statblock for the evil, angry, flying grapefruit?
These classes make Plasmoid and company appear balanced. xD
I made a character that is a revenant paladin. The only real differences between a ghost and a revenant is that the revenant came back to life out of pure rage for being killed or something along those lines, and a revenant doesn’t have to be incorporeal they can be a zombie or skeleton as well (the difference between revenant and undead is that revenants came back for a purpose and they remember everything and almost have free will)
My favorite part about a revenant is they can’t truly die, if they are killed they just keep coming back until they have fulfilled their purpose (usually killing the one who killed them originally.
I'm glad he mentioned Eladrin Elves .
Current campaign is using Valdas and it is sufficiently awesome. Warmages are insane
I'm planning on playing a monk, necrotic unarmed damage does not sound to bad.
I made a race called blorbs, they were like a bipedal elephant seal with a tall, flexible neck, elephant feet, and saber teeth.
litteraly making giraffe people who are easy to flirt with, living glitches and Prowlkins gonna have fun with my friends gonna be really fun lets hope god i hope
I did actually use a custom race I made up once, I had made it's features weaker than some other racial choices and threw in some RPing flare features to make it more fun, but I had to use the Custom Lineage for the Racial Features since the DM didn't want any homebrew.
The most recent UA brought us The Ooze (Plasmoid)and the Monkey (Hadozee) !
Ghost is just the race I need to finally be able to play as Raziel from Legacy of Kain...
Write the flying evil angry grape fruit class, and make it sound awesome in one of your shorts. We NEED this.
You should talk about cool Homebrew more often.
This predicted quite a few proper races
i've always been interested in the possibility of a halfling elf hybrid race.
You gotta make one of these but for homebrew classes
Hey , so…… what drugs were they on when they made #3
Guess I'll be a ghost ooze now, why because I can!
I made a race called the Peako. It's a branch off the Aarkocra race. It's basically a peacock in dnd lol
Its gunny that spelljammer added 2 of them, the slime and the monkey
Holy Metal Warforged. A Warforged with the soul of an Aasimar. You can choose which type of sub race of both the aasimar and Warforged.
I love the spell forged ideal
An awesome race would be biblically accurate angles
