I love those gold buffalo's, they just look like more gold with that yellow color. I love both they are absolutely beautiful 😍 but to me the Buffalo just looks better.
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
They literally are more gold, buffaloes are .999 and eagles are .916
@@RB-ow7mt I thought they both have the same gold quantity. The gold AE will just weigh more as it has other alloys to make it 0.916 (22k).
@@chiil034 you are correct, if he’s willing to sell an AGE for .916 then I’m a buyer all day
Yes, I approve of this message!
I've been fortunate that I have both. I too believe both are beautiful, and real money. The buffalo is more appealing to me in the sense that it represents the buffalo and Native American, true American history that sadly is being forgotten. Back when the buffalo and Natives roamed our land, is when America was truly great.
i prefer my buffalo's over my eagles.
Both are winners! Can't lose with either one! 😅
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
Politician 😂
Sorry to say it, but unless the coin is 24ct it's not a regarded as true bullion in some countries. So by that measure, the Buffalo wins
It is in the USA. Buy your own countries bullion. If i was i would
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
AGEs are legal tender in the USA, not just bullion.
@@dazedandconfusedstacker9923
I get the idea of hardened alloys for circulation but nobody is or likely to frequently transact with one troy ounce of 24 or 22k gold coins on a day to day basis. Consider the psychology, gold bullion is always 24k. A gold 22k coin just doesn't seem as appealing because there is a superficial understanding by many who think a 22k coin is defiled and demeaned because of base metals. We all know there is 1oz gold but many don't know. I spoke with a dude from India and he wasn't interested in an AGE because of the coppery look. Also there is a matter of taxes. In Canada we all buy the CML because it is available but it is not taxed due to purity. We have to pay extra for a Krug, AGE or British Sovereign because it is not considered pure enough. We might pick up an AGE, Krug, or Sovereign when we can travel again, otherwise no way we are paying an extra $100 for a 22k gold coin.
@@good2goskee well it sucks to he you
The eagle looks like a big copper penny, I prefer the real gold look of the buffalo.
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
Kruggerands look even more like a penny.
I hate that they alloy it too.
My favorite is the buffalo coin because of the purity and color. Gotta keep those babies in a capsule to keep them safe and scratch free though.
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
golds gold scratched or not
Buffalos are my favorite
Me, too.
Same here!
And the gold is pure in the Buffalo coins
American Buffalo 24 karat 1 ounce rounds are ultimately the best and American made just saying good day😊
This type of in-depth and informative overview is value added and appreciated. Thank you.
The gold buffalo is one of the most beautiful modern coins in my opinion. When the u.s mint does something right they do it exceptionally well.
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
Don’t forget the Britannia. Different but also very beautiful!
I started buying them a few months ago , the premiums are unbeatable and they look stunning . Very happy with them .
Everyone hating on the eagle should ship theirs my way. I'll ensure a safe nest for those beautiful golden birds!
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
Can i trade my eagles for your buffalos? Would love that please.
Buffalo absolutely!! Eagle is ehhh, I'd take the brittania over the Eagle
If you stack Gold.. You are a winner!!!

I really like the gold lustre of the Buffaloes.
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
BUFFALO FOR SURE !!!
I have to give the slight edge to the Buffalo for its beautiful art work (obverse and reverse). However, Gold AE’s can be sold anywhere in the world and is very recognizable. Thanks, Sal!
Good video Sal. I like the buffalo better than the eagle... but i hate the way the mint packages the buffalos.. terrible. My bullion is split between maples, buffalos, eagles and few bars.
Though I stack all gold including foreign, The Buffalo holds a place closest to my heart because of my First Nation ancestry on my mom's side. But all gold is beautiful.
Wow, I would have guessed the buffalos were around longer. Thanks for the info Sal 👍
I like the eagles, The buffs are nice but growing up my grandad had krugerands which are a similar tone to the eagle. out of all the coins, the look of a krugerand is just awesome with its copper tone. All are nice , even some of the old pre 33 gold is unreal
If I had a choice I would go for the buffalo round, for me it stands head and shoulders above most gold coins, it as that X factor, however I would not feel to sad if I was given a gold eagle coin, stay safe my friend
coin, not round
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
Gold Buffaloes . I paid the price of buying not pure alloys where I am.

I enjoy the Buffalo more, but I like both! Looking forward to seeing the new designed 2021 Eagle!

The winner is the one with a smaller premium.

I would agree with that
The two most Americana type of coins for me are Morgan Carson City silver dollars,Last of The Wild West , and the gold buffalo, The first time I saw ,I believe they’re actually bison was In the Scenic Black Hills of South Dakota, they were running in a field in a herd beauty and beast
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
I like both of them but I've converted a lot of fiat into Gold Buffalo money. The Buffalo is definitely my favorite. Great comparison video!
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
Both look good to me! I wouldn't mind having either one!
Great comparison video, Sal! They are both wonderful coins. The Eagle should be a solid base for a precious metals stack, while the Buffalo has a certain intangible attraction. You cannot go wrong with either one. Best wishes to all!
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
I will pick the Buffalo every time BECAUSE there is no sales tax on purchasing them!!! When you sell it's a clean sell with no taxes to deal with except capital gains. If I was an American, I'd push for BOTH gold series to be in pure gold!
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
To me it’s a relief to see the deeper strike on the Buffalo 🦬
I agree
Sal I loved both coins they are Americana. The Canadian golden maple leaf is also a very beautiful coin go premiums thank you

Ok ok I'll order 1 of each. Just checked online bullion dealers; pre-sale, pre-sale, got flustered. Now I am back to reality, sticking with my quarter oz eagles from my lcs.
Imo, ur better off with smaller denominations. Easier to barter if needed.
I don’t own any one ounce gold coins. I have something worth more ; I get a kiss 💋 every day from Mrs. Silver Honda.
Priceless

Buffalos 100% but I do have a few eagles .....keep stackin people !!!!!
I like both, but Eagles. Like the tone plus it has copper and silver.

if the eagle had the st. gaudens reverse, it would be a toss up, buffalo hands down.
I chose the Gold Buffalo coins. They're 24 K and not mixed with other metals which may one day cause corrosion if that's possible.

Buffalo
24k over 22k coins all the way if the price is the same. If not then the AGE is a great choice for everyone (but also the Krugs).

Some have stated when we get the big collapse, it will be a massive social economic collapse where society becomes fragmented and even tribal to some degree. In addition, there is suggestion we may become more agrarian and possibly feudal. Take a look at feudal society and gold, " Daily commerce in Europe during the Middle Ages was conducted not with gold coins, but rather with silver and bronze coins. In fact, most ordinary people during the Middle Ages probably rarely even saw gold coins". A rough estimate suggests 4.4g of "pure" (as pure as they could make it circa 1500) would have the approximate purchasing power of $500 today. So a rough rough estimate on 31.1g (1 oz) of pure gold would be about $3500 in purchasing power in 1500. If commerce in medieval Europe could translate to medieval post-apocalyptic America, then you are not going to have your AGE, Bufs, CGM, Krugs as 'walken-around-money'. You are not exchanging an oz of gold too often, so ware-and-tear is not going to be happening on those very precious coins whether they are 24k or 22k. Many scoff at the softness of 24k coins-yup! But don't think those 22k coins are not soft and durable beyond the need to consider. Even in post crash America feudal or not, we'll all have capsules for 22k AGE and 24k Bufs
Interesting calculation
31.1g AGE =$1935 USD at my local shop and we can all equate what that buys today
31.1g of gold is roughly $3500 of purchasing power in 1500. Although this is more purchasing power than now, it is not crazy different. It shows how gold holds value.
i remember that well. imports of krugs were banned and legislation was created for the gold eagles. sold all my old krugs and bought eagles right after they came out. haven’t bought a krug since the ban was lifted. the buffalos had to grow on me because they just looked like a large golden nickel but i love them now. good video
Buffaloes are cool, tough to top both are pretty incredible though really.

The beefy Buffalo for me. Both rock.

When people talk about how much more durable and Eagle is compared to a Buffalo, it's like comparing who has the most durable Faberge egg, What the hell are you people doing with your coins That requires them to be durable?.

I just started my pre 33 type set. Eventually I’ll get at least one, 1ozt American Eagle and Buffalo for the collection.
I like the color of the Buffalo better!
Iam currently saving for an oz . Going to take me a year to save enough money going to do 40$a week but I have no clue what one I'll get. I have time to decide
I think my first full ounce will be the Buffalo

My preference is the Gold Buffalo. It's basically a coin version of a poured gold bar since it has the same exact shine and raw texture as a bar.

My local gold store sells both at the same price
The blanks from which Gold Eagles are struck are made from 24k gold, .999 silver and .999 copper. The gold portion is absolutely pure. Most people don't understand this.
Actually, the blanks are .9167 fine, they are 22k. They are 33 grams or so to compensate. So, you get a full ounce of gold in each coin.
I like the buffalo more, I don't even really care about the purity. To me, it's just a better looking coin. The only thing I miss about the eagle is the ping sound, and I can get over that easily.

I like the Buffalo , I haven"t got any american coins , But when I get one it will be a Buffalo
Buffalos have a more natural gold color to them than the eagles other than that the eagles are more popular around the world than buffalos.
Great topic! How do you guys feel about having these coins graded? Does an ms 70 justify a higher price than the ms 69? Also the grading company pcgs vs ngc, etc.
Buffalos....I prefer my Au four 9s fine!! After all the true luster of pure gold is what it's all about.

Regarding 11:16, the Augustus Saint Gaudens Double Eagle original design from 1907 was reproduced in 2009 in Ultra High Relief by the U.S. Mint using 24k gold instead of the original alloy of 90% gold + 10% copper. See it @ ruclips.net/video/BESrwUXEFhw/видео.html

Buffalo wins only if you can buy 1 oz at a time.
I don't need to pay sales tax on Eagles in CACAfornia when purchasing over $1500 at a time. I am not sure if I would have to pay sales tax for the buffalo.

I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
I very much prefer the buffalo's over the eagles.
Years ago the Krugerrand fell out of favour due to being only 22 carat as compared to the 999 coins that became available. The Eagle still has that problem as well as being taxable by many jurisdictions. It may have the world's highest production, but that doesn't mean it's the favourite everywhere in the world. The Buffalo, on the other hand, is pure gold and beautiful.
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
If you go to all the trouble and expense to purify gold away from base metal then leave it pure. The eagle is lucky the buffalo didn't come first.
I am responding to your comment verbally on a live stream at this very moment!
The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf wins! Made in the USA means stuff cost too much. There is no reason for the premium above all other sovereign coins from 1st world westernized countries.
American Eagle for Me…
Both are good...but gold at spot price is better...whatever that may be...in the end, when a gold coin is damaged by accident or mishandling, it all ends up in the melting pot...so it is best to try and get recognized gold bullion for the lowest price possible. Both are good it doesn’t matter. One day that can change, but that day is likely a long long way off...so buy whichever has the lower premium.
Thanks for your thoughts!
Excellent!!😎
Love Buffalos. A little more. About the price of a pizza. Not a big deal if it makes you happy... Buy it. 😎
I love the buffalo.

4000.00 right there
if the American Eagle 22K coin has at least a troy ounce of gold also some copper and another metal then why isn't the American Eagle a bigger coin than the buffalo? If the American Golden Eagle has a total of 1 troy ounce of Gold and also copper and another metal then wouldn't it weight more than the Buffalo coin?
I love the colour of am. eagles and the way they do reeded edge.
I hate how badly eagles are drawn and lady liberty looks strange (double eagles far better in art direction)
The indian on buffalo is great, proof version is great, but this coin has uneven dimension and buffalo is bit weird.
Both coins have drawbacks.
