I was in Pakistan in sir Pervaiz times
When he took over there were celebrations on every street.
And we were heart broken when he announced he is leaving.
And Pakistan was in best shape in his times .
As a minority also was the best time for my life . He was the first Muslim leader who celebrated Christian religious events
    Long live sir pervaiz

    Quite comprehensive and objective
analysis or review of Pak-US relations presented in a very frank manner by Gen Musharraf. He is a clear headed person with highly thinking mind. Of course he lead Pakistan during a very critical juncture of history as did Gen Zia in 80s. I dont think any civilian political leader in Pakistan could have grasped and handled the the complex situation that Pakistan faced at that time.
It is however, a perception and some what factual position as well, that political and democratic dispensation process suffered due to frequent imposition of military dictatorship. There might have been honey and milk flowing during their tenure ( due to international circumstance favouring them) yet when they left everything melted away much quicker than it formed. The country was left to darkness with loadshedding going as high as 18 hours a day. Where did the electricity vanished, it was certainly not eaten up by the people or political leadership that followed through elections
Where' did the economic indicators vanish if the country was put on fast development track. In all fairness Pakistan was pushed into WOT brainlessly and she had to suffer a terrible loss in men and material. The irony is that Pakistan's contribution has never been acknowledged even by the US and the west. Rather all accusing fingers are raised towards Pakistan for her alleged complicity in fanning terrorism. That was the main cause of anti pathe towards the US who always ditched Pakistan after reaping the benefits.
Musharraf has rightly pointed out the flaws in US policy and her biased dealing when it comes to Pakistan. The US must understand that Pakistan is located at the cross road of various civilizations and trade zoness and she certainly cannot be brushed aside. It would be of great interest to both Pakistan and US not to burn all oil and try to maintain working relationship for ensuring regional.peace and security.

you are right. very few people will understand that. Zia had to take things into his hands because Bhutto successfully managed to make two peaces of the country. causing a lot of bloodshed on both sides. India came out to be the beneficiary of all this. Musharraf came again because of Nawaz Sharif and Benazir, both were sell outs. he managed to stabilize the economy. his only mistake was beleiving that Nawazium and zardarium must have improved. another issue is these military guys does not have money, so they cannot rally people around them. whereas Nawazium and zardarium, these corrupt elements have lots of money to clear their names, buy people and come back to power. if you look at comment section, lots of people are against him. that is sad truth, most of us does not have the ability to analyze the reality. people forget and believe what the media is selling to them. lets hope Pakistan comes out of this mess and our people start making the right decisions

Its true, I did cry when Musharraf resigned in August 2008, Musharraf was Pure Gold for Pakistan, Country Flourished in his reign, There are 3 governments which have came after Musharraf, and i say with full confidence and vision that all them three sucks, they cannot be even compared to Mushrraf, however one which is better among those three is the one of Mr. Nawaz Sharif but Army relations with him were not good which led to his dimise.

    look,
when two elders are talking, people shouldn't interrupt.
the theory of deterrence is indeed derived from the philosophy of justice, which means that it is justified, practical and utilitarian. the last thing a person should do is to consider it as "throwing a hail marry," or bluffing in poker or just an act of boldness out of ignorance. Deterrence means that the "credible" threat of punishment in retaliation will keep predators, criminals and bullies in general, at bay. In simple english, the malicious intent of an adversary is met with certainty of an immediate reaction. to me, this was of great significance, because it ensured my safety when I was open and vulnerable, and as a consequence, it indirectly enforced normative behavior as the only expectation from others.. or else, I would react to their provocations in a destructive manner because I know that I can tell the judge in court that I was provoked into reacting. And due to my consistency and determination, I did manage to revive normative behavior among the neighbors, all of which has increased the chances to reconcile our differences.. meaning, we can lead ourselves to harmony, should we both decide to engage now or re-engage.
Nonetheless, I am preparing a legal offensive over legitimate grounds and dozens of causes for action, I don't consider my disputes to be equal to foreign policy.. so that is just rubbish in terms of comparison, because there is a difference between something which worked and something that is not working.
