earthbound3500 LOL It’s like he went straight for it! My thought was that he was trying to run typical route but the flow was faster than he understood or expected and he did scout it at an unfamiliar flow.
Thank You, Made me feel good about all the times I bumped a rock or two in that drop! p.s. I think I would rather Swim than hold on to a loaded gear raft in that drop!
Omg, we ran this in March with snow on the river and super high cfs, the rocks were not exposed and we went over them into giant holes, geez, what a run Then one time I was guiding and knew my crew was weak, no way we runnin river left, we took the right channel st the top, hit that side wall of water after the first slot, high sided that fkr and slid right down the wall, no flip, love the Rogue!
So hey Tim what do you say we take our neighbors raft out for a spin I don't think he'll mind. Sure Marc sound great he owes me one and still hasn't returned my video camera.
I once saw a mother, holding her baby on that rock, and a very nervous Guide. On this same trip, I took my best friend. I've been down the river once, and felt kinda competent. Rainey falls caught me off guard though. We went completely under water. I got the upside down raft to shore, along with my 70 year old friends. He was most concerned about his wet cigarettes. He had emphysema, but at the end of the trip; he quit cigarettes. Actually he cut way back. He said, if not for that spill, and lack of cigarettes, I would still be smoking 3 packs a day. He talked about our rogue river trips to everyone. I want to go again, but kinda afraid of doing it alone. I wish there was some kind of club. I have no idea of going on a commercial trip. I'm not knocking commercial, but if you can swing it, and have the right gear; going private party is just so much more satisfying. If I go again, I want to spend a week. I always had to rush back to work.
with the water being that high he could have ran the fence. he just didn't make his mind up fast enough. that's a lot of boat to move quickly. he should have been set up farther up. but everyone makes mistakes. great recovery!
yep loaded the back of the boat heavy which sits the deepest in the water....might be known as the keel...hit the current and the rest is history...should be called the 180 shuffle
Like a pingpong ball hitting ever rock all the way down and doing everything wrong! hahaha Yea that goon should not be doing blossom bar. Thank god he was in a raft and not a driftboat. Rafts are soo much more forgiving!
You must be kidding. The swimmer was lucky he wasn't crushed and drowned. The oarsman didn't have any control over the oars or the line through the rapids. Pure luck saved their hides.
another gaper with a boat that has no idea how to run whitewater...what did you think would happen when you took the weight outta the front? oh yeah, you forgot to think at all and boy does this video show that in high definition
The line of thought that landed you on that rock is incomprehensible to me.

Bad angle and pushing on the oars will do it every time.
As a guide who runs this rapid once or twice a week during the summer I can confidently say he came in hot.
PRO TIP OF THE DAY: Swimmers should either get immediately back in the boat or stay away from it! You could be crushed between the boat and a rock.
Nice parking job!

Never seen a boat that big in an eddy so small.
it's amazing how many boaters attempt to run Blossom without knowing what the correct route is.
And at that flow you could almost run river left and miss anything challenging
I'm just happy to see that you guys made it outta there in one piece-brutal.
At a flow you’re not used to running you should scout that one, it looked like he went straight for that rock!
Apparently the rule is: point your buddy downstream, that's what he's is the water for.
"...that's what he's is the water for." ?? Say WHAT ?????
I know!! Wtf?
@@trwent Uhh... sarcasm.
@@mrose4132 Uhh...sarcasm.
@K9er NO sarcasm. I absolutely cannot decipher it.
Also looks overloaded for just two guys
That was a LOT of gear in the back of that raft. Looks like they brought the “kitchen sink” along on this trip.
What’s the correct route down Blossom, asking as I might have a permit this summer and don’t want to be famous
Nice cooler! I totally pinballed through there high on painkillers and broke my ribs the day before, enough said, nice job👍
Need to learn more .
So hey Tim what do you say we take our neighbors raft out for a spin I don't think he'll mind. Sure Marc sound great he owes me one and still hasn't returned my video camera.
Now that was hilarious run one they both got out the raft comes Lois
Nice of the man overboard to cushion the raft from hitting boulders.
Rock and a hard place.
At least they were hydrated

A baby. Screw that.

gnarly that's for sure
Totally amazing...
get your boy in the boat

Whew, I was holding my breath on that one.
is this below rainie falls
Blossom Bar is 20 miles downstream from Rainie Falls.
I usually try to drive an oar boat bow-first, but hey whatever!
"Amazing?" I assume that by "amazing" you mean it's amazing how bad he screwed that up and didn't wrap or flip.
Cool video. I'm glad to know everybody was okay. Alex is an amazing oarsman and Mark had outstanding savoir-faire to hold on for the ride.
Nothing Actionn
You must be kidding. The swimmer was lucky he wasn't crushed and drowned. The oarsman didn't have any control over the oars or the line through the rapids. Pure luck saved their hides.
Not skilled enough to do that run
Dumb and Dumber. I know any river can get it's way anytime but that wasn't a difficult rapid. You have much more to learn.
He missed the cut to River right at the boulder. Otherwise it wouldn't have been an issue. Not the worst on that stretch of the river by anymeans
Try Pinball Rapids on the North Fork of the Umpqua. Makes the ferry in Blossom Bar seem like a cake walk.
Wow
another gaper with a boat that has no idea how to run whitewater...what did you think would happen when you took the weight outta the front? oh yeah, you forgot to think at all and boy does this video show that in high definition
he who never pinned a raft does not guide raft
yeesh, scary
the one in the blue is my dad
dude
Yeah, that was a terrible run! BUT it certainly could have ended much worse.
Hopefully that guy learned a lesson 😂
Another ship of fools
that is one dumb way to row a raft
Watching these ridiculous attempts at dangerous rapids makes me sorta nauseous. Im going to have to outsmart the algorithm.
i went in this a couple weeks ago
