I was reading in the comments about "what Aikido is supposed to be".
Aikido's strengths as a martial art are:
-- The practitioner controls, more than in other martial arts, how badly to injure the attacker.
-- You can fare well against multiple attackers, since your attacks can cripple or send attackers prone.
-- Your body becomes accustomed to moving quickly, with aggression, in a grappling scenario.
An opponent can be deflected or controlled without injuring them -- ideal for a bar fight, where you want to avoid getting injured without doing harm to someone who is only drunk, and you need to be aware of that person's friends who might jump in before the bouncer can come over to help. An opponent can instead be quickly crippled or sent with force to the ground -- ideal for self defense situations, especially against multiple attackers where fighting with kicks and punches will not be effective.
This video is a demonstration that Aikido's gentle moves do not have to be gentle. The same techniques can be executed with even more speed and force than is being shown, enough to immediately cripple an attacker to end a fight without resorting to methods of defense that might kill the attacker. Recognize what is being shown to you.
You might compare Aikido to Brazilian Jujitsu, one of the most respected martial arts. BJJ is excellent to neutralize a single attacker, but it is not useful in a bar fight or against multiple attackers. You might compare Aikido to MMA, the superior sport martial art for full contact. MMA, like BJJ, is useful vs a single attacker but fails in a bar fight (you aren't trained how NOT to injure your attacker; you could be sued especially if you land the first blow vs anyone who gets involved) and vs multiple attackers (where striking and ground wrestling is generally useless).
Aikido has its place when learned properly, and that place is the real world.
This demonstration of "real Aikido" is interesting examle how the national mentality is displayed in technique. Beating on tatami usually means: STOP AT ONCE IT HURTS!!! . RESPECT TO STUDENTS IS ESSENTIAL FOR GOOD TEACHER...
few people got it....
89/5000
I totally agree. All this does not fully respect the spirit of Ō Sensei.
The new generations are doing things different. Show no respect for people's traditions. Really sad!
Peter Ondrejka very true!
Of what nation
I’ve met one aikido guy in my life who could fight with it. The late Kevin Sparkman. His secret was to knock the snot out of his opponent then grab hold of them. He bounced around the bar scene in Nashville for 15 or 20 years wrecking people.
Wow! The opponent threw those punches like he was some kind of BOXER!
The very, very slow, untrained kind.😆
Who says an aikidoka can't punch like a boxer. We can i have trained in boxing aikido and wing chun. We can punch as well but most people fail to grasp this. Aikidokas hit back.
@@joelbloggs5885
Watch the video. You may throw punches like a boxer. If you throw running punches like this guy in the video, I’d fire your boxing coach.
In martial arts we have sparring. Accordingly we also have various exercises that are sparring orientated. Last but not least we have a mutual respect, meaning when a person taps, we stop, not only to cease the pain, but to stop degrading him in front of others. Here I don't see any of that, just a bunch of looneys who are too afraid to fight each other.
In martial arts there is no sparring, is not the purpose. Because martial arts are not for combat are for war, you need tonfinish the confrontations fast... Herenhe isnshowing how efective isnevennforncpntrol... These techniques arenincredible painful sonwhike you experience that you feel like a nervous shock... Those reasona arenwhy aikido is tough and songood for guards and plice corps because you trainnwith the assumptionnthat the other wants to kill you... I undertandnyou are referibg toncombat sports, that is different, please do not missinterpret me, Inknow there are really tough combat export like BJJ o Muay thai, or box... Combat sports are for competitions, martial arts are for survive.
This guy took tapping to a whole new level😂😂😂
Ah ah ah you Just made me laugh so much with that comment...
Yeah but its part of aikido and they high belt sensie now...
An art of technique of having total control over your opponent and the key is TECHNIQUE
What exactly is "real" about an opponent just handing you his arm in a way that doesn't resemble any kind of real attack?
Oh right... because he does it faster.
Vorrei vedere qualcosa di più reale
Meu Deus eu nunca iria querer fz demonstração com esse mestre....esse cara apanhou heim!!!!!
Dava pra ouvir os gritos👀
Real aikido - when someone tapping you dont let him go..
Wtf is up in this man's mind to continue with almost breaking someone's arm while the other guy is tapping out.
It's not tapping, it is a demonstration of pain cause by the wrist lock.
@@markuslepisto7824 then still it's fucked up, 'cause when you have a small child watching this then he would think it's just okay to continue while someone's surrendering
Because this is bullshit and wont break even a chicken bone..
@@marcosv88 I can say from experience that it works better than you imagine. And if you get in a situation to attack someone who does aikido I wish you luck ;)
@@stefankostic178 aikido sucks... I used to be fooled by this bullshit when I was a kid. But the real fighting experience brought me to light. I trained aikido and this silly moves just don't work bro... Sorry to destroy your wonder world but you need to face reality it just doesn't work! Sorry...
And this is man of action non violence
Wow im impressed feel that high level of masterpiece
Nothing like stopping when someone is tapping....
or respect for uke? ;) Look: if I tap like that and tori doesn't let go... when roles get reversed, I guarantee he'll piss his hakama; I know, very un-aikido of me... but that's the way it is; don't matter what his DAN-level is, he'll know not to pull that crap again on his uke!
Hmm... I think he just didn't keep going. The tapping is mostly so the person applying the technique and the rest of the audience knows at which point the technique is working. I used to have the problem that forgot to tap and my instructor kept going until it really hurt like a b*tch and he told me "you have to tap every time if you feel the technique is working so I know where to stop".
@Dominus Providebit Pretty much sums up what I said.
Damn man. He is tapping!! Release the pressure, what the f.. do you want to proove?
This is proof that aikido is false. Imagine someone catching you in a heel hook or some other bjj lever and not wanting to let you go after tapping, the consequences would be clear.
@@abc-vw8iy amen to that
The cost of being the best student^^^ brutal.
Easy to do when your training partner let's you do this to them
that's how you learn to do it. Uke allows you to work it.
Ed they are not lost. They know right where they are....on the ground all bloody

@@1389-m4y same.
sadistic master, useless becouse noone attacks like that
in my life I had never seen an attacker which runs toward me with the hand forward that I can trick him with this martial art. We need to educate the attackers to behave better to justify Aikido
bullshit, MMA lamers do that all the time in UFC. They throw those wide, undisciplined haymaker type punches. An Aikido guy would love that.
Aikido is alwais a lye
I DARE YOU TO ATTACK HIM
@@neutrino78x show examples
@@neutrino78x Lets say the aikido guy somehow catches the arm. His face would be free to be punched/elbowed by the other arm. Aikido guy knocked out.
Odlicno objasnjeno
All of you negative critics. Why don't you go to this guy's dojo and ask him to fight? Prove your worth and your "expertise" in martial arts. If you don't want, please shut up because you don't know anything about martial arts or have the guts to prove someone wrong.
You are right.I take this Aikido shit serious now.I (184cm,68kg,bodybuilder) was lessoned in March in front of a supermarketThere was a brawl concerning a trolley with an about 40 year old woman with thick ugly specs, physically much weaker than me.Since she only was 150 cm, she was an easy push and I pressed her 2 meters back and downwards
with my hands on her shoulders. Then she enclosed my right wrist, a short aching, she went aside and I tumbled to the ground on the back, and that in my full black leathers. On the ground, I realised a sprain in my right arm making it useless for further combat. The specs lady saw my surprise and stretched from right to left over my chest, snatching for my left arm poising it in an awkward and helpless position I never saw before. I was completely under shock and could no longer move none of my four limbs. I flushed and even fainted.I only remember some passers by in the audience saying "Look at the arm of that lady, look at the arm of that girl, you ever saw this before?".After some minutes,we were finally seperated by the security and the specs lady said:"Guess you never exspected a dwarf to know the Judo, hunny hulk".But I doubt now whether it is allowed to apply such things in public.
I think the proponents of practical self defense have some valid points! I believe it's high time all martial art schools review their drilling regime and take into account the scenario of street fight/brawl! They must teach their students how to deal with untrained as well as trained attackers!
MMA can be considered a new form of (modern) fighting 'art' in its own right, that is, a mob - unruly - style; so, all old school martial arts need to improvise to handle mob style attack! The available techniques are already useful when up against untrained or even trained aggressors; however, when facing mobsters they are like loose cannon! I believe the existing techniques are still useful and can take down even MMAs! Just need to be practiced and mastered in a much more realistic demonstration!
Now, I disagree when someone says the fights we see in movies are unrealistic. Take Jackie Chan movies, for example, how he handles mob as well as untrained and trained aggressors despite of it being choreographed nonetheless choreographed as realistically as possible! watch the following clip between Jackie Chan and Benny Urquidez, both are trained fighters.

They do have it for real life, Navy Seals, SAS, Masod, need I go on?
Very misinformed content on several levels, if you want aikido to work train in other fundamental arts, wrestling, judo ,BJJ, boxing, muay thai or kickboxing with a strong base in these arts you can create and have the physicality to implement aikido
nice dancers
Реального айкидо не бывает!Айкидо реально в априори!!!
The term "Realni" or "Realnog" does NOT refer to being the real Aikido and Ueshibas Aikido being the false. Real in this context means nothing more the realistic in it's application in real life situations.
Anybody seen Richie?
Hahaha...dude...how the hell you remembered that?
He is learning real pain it helps to know when your dealing with the best
For all the wishy-washy soyboys who think that Aikido should be soft and gentle, and that this is not what Ueshiba intended... You are basing your impressions of what Aikido on accounts from people who knew Ō Sensei as an old, old man in his 70s and 80s.
There is a reason why uchi deshi at the Iwama dojo described their training as 'hellish' and referred to Iwama as the 'Hell Dojo".
I had the pleasure of being uke for André Nocquet in the UK in 1991 and 1992. Master Nocquet was Ō Sensei's first western uchi deshi and his Aikido was not soft at all.
bravo igore ..pozzz
So basically, when you catch your opponent's right hand, his left hand is totally nothing to do to you. Am I right?
This is not Aikido. Aikido is not violence, but peace and armony
This is Aiki Jiu Jitsu that incorporates punching and kicking as well as some grappling.
Some schools teach it that way, but aikido is not about non-viiolence it is about harmoany, which is not the same thing
"Real Aikido" is an oxymoron
yes it is..if it works in combination with other martial arts?..YOU BET your ass it works!
@@dannycalugar 🤡
Very good
Aikido always have cool looking demos but never any footage of actual sparring. Real sparring, NOT randori lol. Put some gloves on a student and tell him “just kick my ass however you think you can” and see how real the aikido is.
私が習った合気道とは少し違いますが、かなり実戦的でいいですね。
I love aikido
Akido is a very skillful&Graceful Art..But in a street conflict or in some kind of emergency situation,I have my doubts!..
And this video is way to choreographed for my taste!
It's kept me protected twice since I've been training, just the ability to fall without injury is insurance.
@@cajunmandickdick1849 Well I'm pleased it's helping u !
And u can only talk from ur perspective..I respect MA and the Philosophy behind them,I just think so many people confuse, what they see in the Movies,to a real.life situation!.
if this an demo about speed and techniques than nice work.
What is the point in tapping if you don't stop?
Plus, I'd like to see all these fantastic moves in real sparring
Super master
Excelente Igor
I've heard of this! It's the Ibuprofen Dojo!
And also you can defeat and mma fighter if you mix judo with aikido and jiu jitsu with aikido
Or, in other words, mix martial arts.
So real aikido ignores tapping students/trainingpartners to look more brutal?
Goodness the pain.
Жесткий мужик!
Игорёк. Возьми борца BJJ ,Самбо, Дзюдо....и попробуй повторить в реальном поединке.
Questo personaggio è solo un esibizionista!!!
Try defending against kali knife attack or a gracie jujitsu leg takedown
If you're against a boxer, you kick his kneecaps. If it's a judoka, you punch him, if someone grabs you, you use Jui-jitsu, aikido or judo, if it's a karateka you grab him. There is no one perfect martial art.
aikidoevolves-as do other martial art technique ,, aikido wit abit of taekwondo boxing and taichi would be hard to beat
Great!
Its not easy to apply this thing In real life ..people who don't know how to fight Lacks confidence they use ur reaction to reflex..or attack alongside reflexing ..and they have a fearful speed of which if u don't brain work u will take a lot of time to score or apply ur tecknigue.and they are very rough compared to trained guys .this mechanism is to keep u away ..from reaching them.
That man are dangerous
Please show this with an unwilling opponent.
LOL - we've been demanding that for about a century now. Every so often an Aikidoka would link me a video that was sure to blow all my suppositions out of the water. And every time, it was like this: countering some dolt trying to "attack" him with a big downward chop.
Wtf when tapping but never stop!
Azione continua di leve, ci sta la dimostrazione, ma la tensione continuata in quel modo non esiste, n altro Seagal 🙄🙄🙄
Very fast teacher
The instructor is clearly a tool by the way. There’s no need to put your assistance through that. You’re trying to show your overbearing and real world practice by compensating for this nonsense.
There is no >>REAL AIKIDO>>> since the founder said,,is all love,, one time I challenged some aikido 7 dans...
I hit him in his aikido nose...rapid!...
Anyone can defeat an aikido...why?..simple..they have no combat experience!!
Parabéns melhor canal de vídeos do RUclips nota 10.
here most people are looking for one nonsense. these masters are taught to technique. arent you able to learn the course of the block youself? all these techniques should be used at the right time! do you think they first should an hour show you how the blocks should be applied? It is necessary though to think before that- that to write..
GUYS YOU KNOW WHAT? HE'S MY BROTHER (TRUTH) I'M NOT LIE ING
Это плоды работы двух человек которые занимаются вместе будет боксер или ударник все будет по другому
Try with someone attacking you FOR REAL! Let me tell you what: IT WONT WORK!!
Marcos ..the grandfather of aikido is not alive...ok?..so we dont know.
till you get thrown
The real espirit of Aikido is the respetc for the rival..
This teacher not respect the boy
Dude taps.. but master is enjoying
Either the guy taps for absolutely nothing, or the locks dont break anything. When your partner taps, you let go, you can't tighten the lock further or you break his joints
😍😍😍
Cattivo maestro
Its REAL BULSHIT
@PROUD BRIT ohh shut up you pussy.
The problem is that when the aikido technique is applied at 100%, the attacker gets FUCKED. But for demonstration purposes, we have to hold back otherwise we'd have no practice partners. I have no idea why ppl don't get that shit. 🤷♂️ ppl want to see other ppl get brutalized but it's just not gonna happen on video unless it's real life. With no gloves. Then, if the aikido practitioner is fast and applies the tech, it's a wrap😂
Is that his son-in-law?
black belt in tapping
Nice fine
I saw a so called Aikido warrior get knocked the fuck out.....by a drunk...no shit. The drunk threw a couple of airborne, aiming at nothing in particular, hay makers and Mr Aikido was counting sheep for 20 mins
Como hace sufrir a ese pobre hombre,lo hace gritar como loco!
Circus de Soley rest after this demonstration
He is bastardizing Aikido. He is only teaching violence. Aikido is about learning to give and take not just hurt the uke. A real sensei would never treat his uke like this.
I NOTICE. THEY. ARE. NO. FEINTS IN THE ATTACK. IN A REAL SITUATION NO ONE IS GOING TO LET. YOU JUST GRAB AND THROW THEM THESE. ATE REHEARSALS A REAL. STREET. FIGHT IS WAY DIFFERENT BELIEVE ME
exelente video
no one will punch you like him.. 😂
Я так понимаю, это опоздавший на тренировку.
Ну да он что-то всегда жёстко ассистентов ломает... Походу ассистенты назначаются из провинившихся.
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiyaaaa ! ✋ chop
If you dont voluntarily throw yourself you"ll break
Try aikido in a real fight and then we talk.
I wonder if he can defend himself against any overly aggressive MMA fighters?
I guess it works only if the guy your fighting doesnt hit back.
Zasto ga toliko sporo napada pesnicom i to svaki put i istom polozaju kao robot
Kako sada uhvatiti ruku boxeru?
Showing off
wonderful teacher and techniques but the attack was not fast..nobody attack u so slow in order to trap his hand..i would to see the reaction of an aikido teacher with a boxer or kick boxer when the kicks will be extremely fast...
What kind of dancing is this?
This is crazy in a real you won’t be able to apply all this trust my I’m a guard officer in jail we use different techniques
What does the tapping mean??????
I like speed cause I am fast so yeah if real aikido is speed I would chase it hehe
why is it Aikido that everyone has to say "he's letting him do it" Duh, that is how all martial arts are trained and learned. I dare anyone to show me a real and true martial art that trains at 100 %. I'll then show you a martial art that no one trains in. Just a bunch of haters that don't train in or ever have any martial art. Each and every martial art though out history has trained by Uke allowing the defender to apply the tech. without resistance. As you get more skilled there needs to be less give in that area but even during class either training or teaching your still not going to fully resist. others don't learn like that and too much resistance will get you broke. Sad to hear or in this case read a comment that says such un educated thoughts. Now that i have said that I do need to disagree with something in this video, it drives me crazy when I see Uke over exaggerations with the tapping and yelling. If it hurt that much there would be a problem. I see this most commonly in Hapkido but also in this Real Aikdo style as well. Over acting doesn't help the "real" aspect of Aikido. We have a hard time as it is without all this over dramatization.
He really have pain but teacher don't let him go
What the hell is this training
This is proof that aikido is false. Imagine someone catching you in a heel hook or some other bjj lever and not wanting to let you go after tapping, the consequences would be clear.
Can he pull that on a pro boxer?
I'm pretty sure he will get his face changed and end up in hospital.. BECAUSE AIKIDO DON'T WORK
@@bjjserbia3504 so true. I haven't seen an Aikido school in my area in years. Lol
