Amazing how they put their hand in exactly the right position and the right angle to be grabbed. It's almost as if they practiced it!
Cause those things can break your arms and articulation if not done in a certain way
This is a demonstration.
@@Realest636 and this is sarcasm 🙄
@@peterb2272 fair enough.
Yes, it's a kind of ballet, a choreography 🩰 ! 😊
Some of the most impressive fight choreography that I've ever seen! Almost as real as TV!
The secret to Steven Seagal's technique is that he first imagines that all his adversaries are carrying a donut. So he tackles them, and disarms the imaginary donut safely without letting it fall to the ground. Truly a marvelous martial artist.
this not real fight, this is show
@@georgikolev7545 I never said I believed it was real.
Hey !! My friend also told me, aikido has gone by the wayside...At least a 3rd degree in shorin ryu, like my friend, could ACCIDENTALLY put ANYONE, including the biggest MMA fighters in the ICU...Intentionally, would be worse..Permanentely damage, dislocate everything is what I admit many forms of karate can do...Peace !!
@@alanjamesh.zamorano1677 real donut. 🍩
Lmao he's disarmed all the cookie thieves and eaten all the doughnuts lol
4:47 When steven seagal is getting kicked out of the buffet but he isnt done eating yet
The sign says ALL YOU CAN EAT!!!
Don't quit your day job.
I wish I could get a good look at his feet.... he turn them out like a duck...
Special combat walk I hear....
Seefood Seegal
This is ballet and its choreographed! Nobody fights like that in real life.
說得好,確實如此啊!
i just can't help but think that this whole aikido thing is BS, sure is better than nothing, also Seagal has gone from young, skinny, zero muscles to overweight since "under siege" 1 and 2, so how does that fits into the discipline of martial arts?? look at him here, look at his belly, he looks like he binged in miller highlife and hotdog leading up to this show, he did these take downs millions of time, he ask the guys "grab me here", you can see that, also he seems like bored, like doing errands like folding his laundry, it's such bs, sure the guy would kick my ass and yours but does he stand a chance against a 250 pound of muscle jiu jitsu or kickboxer?? i don't think so, i think the guy is just a lazy ass, that can't control his eating, he was accused of sexual assault countless times and he told for decades lies about working for the CIA, etc, the guy is a total disgrace, a clown.
It’s only good for the movies
🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is a demonstration. I understand your point though.
Martial arts are different that street fights in so far--and especially with Aikido-- as their aesthetic, philosophic, moral and martial dimensions. The principles (or Katas) in action among opponents are a language and communication which might resemblance a dance because, in the overall, the philosophical and moral principle is to harmonise during confrontation, never using force against force. Aikido, among many things, is about blending, getting off-line of the attack and knowing how to fall. Therefore, the purpose of the dance-like movements you see it is not self expression but self-defence. Flow and rolling are techniques to avoid injury and pain. Knowing when to fall and when to stop resisting can save you an arm. And yes, it works in the street.
I didn't know seagal made comedies this is funniest thing I've ever seen
Moron
I fucking hate the guy but aikido works, heavily used in Krav maga. It isn't always the ideal martial art to use but isn't by any means fake if that's what you were insinuating

“Always look at the bright side of life!”
We share the best of ourselves; anything less then that; then its incumbent on the audience to filter out the unnecessary bias due to any visual shortcomings from ones fellow man;
Segal is clearly a master of his craft despite the vitriol; i would love any one of his haters to face off with him???
"I want to hold your hand" by the Beatles, should be put as the soundtrack.
😂😂🤪🤪
I see Steven is still in character, someone should tell him that the filming has wrapped.
5 years later I am still laughing at the most retarded comment I have ever seen
The part where he’s walking out all slow and the crowd is clapping/cheering 😂. Gets me every time, you just know that’s feeding his ego to.
Haha like he owns the fucking place since two dudes who are twice his physical aptitude chose to play along in this Bollywood style presentation of BS fighting skills. And they probably had to play along or else the Russian Secret Service would have cut off their Johnsons.
Oh i love these attacks! He just rises his arms forward and watches what happens next. If only all fights happens with this kind of attackers
If you believe that the bad guy will attack you and offer his hand so that you can twist every which way you want, then Aikido is for you.
Men prancing about in silly skirts and frocks 😂
😂😂
That walk to the mat...🤣🤣
Gets me every time 😂
Aikido has proven COUNTLESS TIMES to be EXTREMELY effective against opponents who offer no resistance whatsoever. Incredible art! Easily as good as water colours!
+Von Milash I only know moderately, two akido moves and can't even spell them correctly..Kotegashi and Sankyo,,maybe I did get them correct. Point is, I get you in either of them, opposition or not,,,you will make noises that you didn't know were possible.
+Von Milash It's even more effective against guys who not only offer no resistance but also guys who jump with and accentuate the moves done to them. It's unparalleled against opponents who cooperate with you.
+Von Milash
The whole concept of resisting/nonresisting opponents shows complete ignorance of what Aikido is. The entire design of Aikido is to give ground until the opponent over extends and CAN'T resist. The ignorant argument assumes the point of Aikido in a real situation is to perform a technique, which is completely not what Aikido is designed for. If you get into an altercation and never actually have to use an Aikido technique (other then positioning) then it was a successful encounter. This is completely lost on small minded people who fantasize most encounters end with someone getting beat down; that is almost never how a spontaneous fight resolves.
bverji
I don't know which of Mr. Rodgers' friendly neighborhoods you grew up in, or where you hang out, but I've seen plenty of fights and very few DIDN'T end up with someone getting lumped up or worse.
+James Reese IAgain I am talking about spontaneous fights not prearranged fights. Most real fights end before the cops come and last less then a minute.
That walk to the mat must have seemed like a marathon to him.
🤣
I practiced Aikido for several years, unfortunately attackers throw punches, they don't grab your wrists!
You know this is not actual aikido fighting? This is just a presentation for normal people to show techniques
@@WuchtaMusic You know that the part with Steven Seagal looks staged even for a staged event?
Since when do attackers not grab wrists? There are a multitude of martial arts that have counters against forearm and wrist grabs. In saying that it is a downside to aikido, it has no defense against a punch.
@@WuchtaMusic Aikido fighters would get mauled in an open freestyle fighting match.
Demonstration not a fight.
Very well choreographed, almost as good as his movies.
But nothing more than a show..... He would never stand against a real fighter
“Anyone seen Ritchie? Anybody know why Ritchie did Bobby Lupo” Segal has been practicing Aikido for Like 87 years
He's been a cop for like 47 years.
You'd think he'd be good at it by now....
I love the flow of Aikido in contrast to the stiffness of Karate. Many of these joint locks and takedowns are also used in Filipino Martial Arts and Chinese Kung Fu. What I like about Aikido guys is they know how to fall and prevent themselves from serious injury. In many ways they are like stuntmen like Jackie Chan.
Except Aikido is a joke and shouldn’t be taken seriously.
@@dooolaay Only by those too stupid to understand it. Hope you never meet an expert.
This comes nowhere near the talent of a Jackie Chan stunt.
Falling like that is extremely easy.
And what particular Filipino martial arts are you talking about? Care to elaborate?
All these people showed up to watch these guys dance and pretend they are hurting each other...AMAZING
Ahhh nothing beats a presentation on good ol’ voluntary cartwheeling.
Steven Seagull demonstrates how you don't need to be in shape to be a good figher- it's all about the art of wrist flicks.
The flick of the wrist
Those guys showed a lot of guts for getting back up from all that punishment
+Josh Smith lol
I think Seagal was showing the guts
i just can't help but think that this whole aikido thing is BS, sure is better than nothing, also Seagal has gone from young, skinny, zero muscles to overweight since "under siege" 1 and 2, so how does that fits into the discipline of martial arts?? look at him here, look at his belly, he looks like he binged in miller highlife and hotdog leading up to this show, he did these take downs millions of time, he ask the guys "grab me here", you can see that, also he seems like bored, like doing errands like folding his laundry, it's such bs, sure the guy would kick my ass and yours but does he stand a chance against a 250 pound of muscle jiu jitsu or kickboxer?? i don't think so, i think the guy is just a lazy ass, that can't control his eating, he was accused of sexual assault countless times and he told for decades lies about working for the CIA, etc, the guy is a total disgrace, a clown.

I think your the best Steven!!!
He visualizes his opponents as healthy vegetables!
SubArcticWolf Tools & Outdoors
Oh hell no.!
Must visualize them as a well stuffed bacon bomb!
Or donuts
He'd leave them alone if that was the case
I know yours is an old comment, but that is funny...and maybe true.
Vegetables is your mom
Steven was promised some treats if he does this, so clearly he couldn't refuse!
🤣🤣
🤣🤣
Aikido the art of the graceful fall. Beautiful mat placement.
So telegraphed these guys are playing to this. Unbelievable.
I've heard of Aikido masters so deadly, they can take down _5 attackers_ at once... so long as they all stick to repeatedly lunging and trying to grab you. You know, because that's how most fights go down, after all.
Legend has it, some Aikidoka can even take down an attacker armed with fresh fruit!
Nothing like a well placed tomato with force, in each eye before the final take down.
+Hugh Jaanus i dont even wanna know where that fresh cucumber goes....
MMA? Just guesing..
O_O legends. HAHAAHAH
... and pointed sticks?
Steven Seagull. A man in the perpetual state of almost throwing out his back.

happy and thankyou we love what you doing for uk
Aikido - the art of cooperating with opponent
Beautiful to watch...like a good musical concert...everything is in the timing and execution.
...like a Milli Vanilli concert, you mean?
Steven Segal taught Anderson Silva how to throw a front kick.

thanks steven by teaching us how a 60 years old pregnent woman can defend her self against bullies
The amazing thing is he can handle these guys with out bending or moving.
lol
Almost like it’s fake!
Every video I see of Aikido the aggressor, the one who charges ALWAYS ends up on the ground. That's the beauty of aikido when the two opponents are practising it correctly there simply cannot be a fight because neither will charge.
thank you for the dance
Great teamwork!
Steven Seagal shows up on part 3:31
thank you
Him and his whole family.

This is the faith healer equivalent of martial arts.
I go to every Steven Seagal video that shows up on my feed.....just to read the comments.
Great choreography Steven!
Those drums are awesomme! Anybody know where u can download it?

Interesting video, nice to see him still doing his thing.
That's awesome I started Wing Tzun over 30 years ago

practice makes perferct well done guys you deserve an aplause for entertainment, btw how many time did you rehearse to make flawless.. 👍
Good choreography.
Great acting by all…bravo!
Everybody is commenting on Seagal nowadays. Well, this guy 1. Really devoted his life to martial arts and was a professional trainer in Aikido for many years before he went Hollywood (whether you like it or not) 2. He is known to be a very well trained Aikido practitioner (whether you like Aikido or not) 3. He made a career out of it, and I am pretty sure he was not chosen for his looks and acting capabilities 4. What have the rest of you done in Martial arts? I have been practicing all my life in Martial Arts and one thing I learned out of it is to NEVER judge what another man is doing, just focus on yourself and your technique. And you can learn something from anybody, even from a beginner....A good question from a new student has made me think on a technique and effectiveness more than any other circumstance in my life.
Seagal was actually great at one time and earned a place in that being said. He certainly worked hard to obtain his stature.
Boy has he let himself go....that is 100 pound weight gain and he is 6'5" inch tall, I met him, not to be taken to easily.
Amazing fight moves!😉👍🏻
When the chefs messed up his pancakes by not flipping them properly, he got up and flipped them instead 😂🤣🤣
When you need a good laugh.. Watch Steven Seagal Aikido videos! 🤣
He still got it. The Ukemi also very good, that's the secret of the art nobody pays attention to. Respect.
There’s 5 minutes of my life I’ll never get back…!😢
The way he falls seems way to elegant to be real.
..so the master is the one that trows himself around, yes ?
Aikido means "physical control and domination over the ex-wives in your life"
😱😱😱
respect steven seagal
This should be an Olympic event titled "Mat Flopping"
That's some Bushitsu for ya!
OH my GOD!!! I don't know why I went down to read comments, now I regret.
Let's make it clear:
AIKIDO IS NOT FAKE, IT'S A REAL MARTIAL ART, SOMETHING SO REAL AND AMAZING!
If you don't belive it, go and take a class, but please - SHOW SOME RESPECT.
Thank you.

He is a giant :)
best fall guy in the business. he works with seagal a lot to get tossed around like an actress
grab my arm. the other arm. My other arm... at rex quan doe we use the buddy system. no more flying solo

Happy bday all the best and have a best life and to be for more years as until you have lived until now for the best same yours more have a best life salutsty.
Well done 👍
Steven Segal is to Russians, as David Hasselhoff is to Germans😂😂😂
This looks choreographed
+KhaoNeu Thats because it is.... Aikido has more in common with the Jim Jones than it does with JiuJitsu..
+rainmechanic Nonsense, you just have NO CLUE what your looking at. JiuJitsu is its OWN style so of course they have little in common, Jiujitsu is a GROUND game Aikido is a totally different ball park.
I mean it is a demonstration....
So....
No shit...
красивый вид спорта айкидо
I get so sick of this guy bashing great action heroes. I was unaware that you must be a master fighting competitor in martial arts to make a great movie. I personally don’t care if any of the stars I grew up with can fight in real life or if they’ve won a championship. As it turns out I just cared about being entertained, and I was. Even by this guy and I have loved every second.
Let's do this at 1/2 speed. Remember, no tackling or punches!
Aikido is extremely effective when your opponent allows you to do anything that you want.
drumdad124 🤣😂😄🤣😂
I love seagal so much
hes such a joke of a character
He looked exhausted before he started.
What is up with Segals baggy black uniform and hat? Is he trying to look like a well-fed black bear?
Derukugi2 With the cap he looks like a Jewish well-fed black bear. xD
Pigly_Jainda Squad
Thanks, now I know what a Jewish bear looks like. (To me, he looked more like a small hippopotamus)
Derukugi2 Lmao! :D
+Derukugi2 he's going bald, like most men. Why is this an issue for you?
KVPD
I dont know if his is bold. I know he looks friggin ridiculous.
The first thing I notice in the video (and during any match too) is if the opponent bows out of respect for him/herself, ppl around you, and dojo...which Mr Segal DIDN'T. Could he have forgotten?...possibly But the counter argument is that he's been practicing since he has a teenager if not younger. Just an observation, not judging the man.
he's a class 1 fraud
By not bowing (or barely bowing), it shows that he is the person with more power or authority. At least, that is how it is done in Japan.
chamcham123 No
Сигал огромный как медведь!
This music tho 👍
Funny how there is absolutely NO footage of a legit Steven Seagal Aikido fight anywhere. The UFC should make an over 45 division where guys like Seagal could fight someone like..uhm I dunno, Bas Rutten!!
Even baby arm bas would ruin seagal
Sure
How many UFC fighters would step in a ring with no rules? Throat strikes, eye gouging, wrist brakes, sternum cracking? I would like to see how many would fight someone like steven on the street with no rules but only fists and feet.
SASR Commander Actually many UFC fighters were brought up in rough areas e.g. in Brazil and have had numerous fights in the street no rules. I'm sure Steve could handle an average guy in the street but a pro athlete UFC fighter trying to hurt him he would be unlikely to stop. Look at demos of Aikido on here you never see them pulling of some throw or lock against someone really trying to Box them or take them down or Muay Thai kick them etc. In demos when they defend kicks or punches - a punch is leave the arm out technique and defence against kicks usually traditional Karate kicks.
If you do Aikido back it up with other arts at least an art with strong striking.
Brock Lock uhm stfu 😂
Big Steven!! holding it down for Aikido. Excellent demonstration.
King of cool, i like what He is doing
Steven seagal really made it look easy. At next i propose, stevens opponent should try to throw steven seagal, only as a demonstration. No idea how that will work out...
Sensei Seagals legacy will live forever
sure :-D
Y es this meme never dies
Being in college and studying martial arts at the time, I was always impressed that he brought realism to movie fights and clearly had real skills. Later, he moved to the our town a while in the 90's, and while I never met him, I can say everyone I know who did had a bad opinion of him. That aside, he has knowledge and technique. If you watch at about 4:59 the the uke gets a bit lost and Segal just slams him to the ground. I am sure that was not the throw he wanted to do, but took what he had, broke the guys balance and tossed him. There was no "cooperation" I saw in that throw but it was effective. Sad he has let himself become a character, I think if he'd been humble he would still have more fans than haters.(might have also admitted he needed acting lessons)
Guaranteed Seagal gets that last piece of Cake 🎂 at the buffet........don't do it, don't even try to reach for it when Seagal has laser beamed his eyes on that last piece!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a Steven seagal fan no matter what so if he is like he is still can sling people around 😎
All I know is Steven Seagal looked REALLY cool!
In any real competitive fight - in any discipline martial art etc, the fight will involve elements of struggle. In this "demo," there is zero struggle; the moves are as choreographed as in WWW
Mathew Ridyard WWE?
Yes:)
Mathew Ridyard you realize that the whole point of Aikido is to blend and flow with your enemies movements and use their energy against them so that there is no struggle and the defender can use as minimal energy as possible. getting into a force on force struggle is stupid (in my opinion) and low level (compared to high level masters).
I agree 100% any one who has ever been in a real fight competition or not has got to struggle at least to some degree anyway everything thing I saw was closer to dancing with falls than any form of actual aikido match... Scripted as movie!
Nicely put logan, I understand the point of aikido, but until you show me a video of Segal against a top cage fighter brushing them off like they were mosquitos, I don't buy any of this.
Tsss,Seagal es la Verija bien parada!!
Essa Arte quebra tudo !!!
