I've been using the Max at work in a open area and it is excellent. I don't have any qualms with it. The battery lasts extremely well and the bass is nice. Its pretty weighty which was a surprise and its size is not extremely large. The Max was designed with Bose's inherent trait of quality over quantity whereas it can't be pushed past a certain volume without detriment. I own various Bose speakers and the truth of the matter is that they were designed for enclosed areas not open. The Max is the first Bose speaker the performs well in a open area as long as it is not pushed past a certain volume which is about sixty per cent. At that volume it is loud enough with causing distortion but fifty is the perfect volume for this speaker so if you like to blast this is definitely not the speaker for you.
You must have a bad speaker or the eq set wrong, you should be able to play at 100 percent volume no issues..
I appreciate that you understand this speaker's niche, it seems like many reviewers totally forget the form factor
Bro playing the real OG music for the sound test. LIKE!
@@oscargomezbha glad you like it 😁
bro how it sound quality and bass compare to devialet mania ? which more better worth?
@@vince-b7b nothing will ever quite match the character and sound quality of the Mania. But I think the Bose does have slightly stronger bass.
I’d still take the Mania instead every day though 😁
Thank you for another fantastic review sir, how do you think it compares to the JBL Authentics 200, and the Sonos era 300 please, I’ve been keen to hear your review on this speaker.
Thanks for the kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed it 😁 I was really blown away by the sound quality, volume and most notably the bass, as when you look at it, you think it’s going to be quite wimpy.
It’s noticeably clearer than the JBL Authentics 200, but has similar bass and volume levels. You can tell the sound stage is much wider and it sounds much more premium than the JBL.
The Sonos and Bose I feel are very equal in terms of sound stage, frequency response and overall clarity. However, the Bose definitely has stronger bass.
I think the Bose feels almost like an awesome combination of the JBL and Sonos. Taking the sound quality from Sonos and the bass from JBL. Almost perfect! 👌
It might interest you to take a look at the scores I’ve given it on my website… link in the video description 😁
@@HammoTechReviews thank you so much for your very interesting reply, I have been looking for a new speaker for quite a while now, but I couldn’t decide on wich one, I think you have now made my mind up with your excellent review on the Bose, and your very knowledgeable advice, thank you.🙏
@@HammoTechReviews about the coating and fingerprints, is the blue color better in that regard? Because with the flex, the black color is also very easy to get dirty so i got the exact dusk blue color of the flex just like the blue max, and i hope it won't get dirty as fast
One of the Best Sound in The Word
BOSE gives you 90 DAYS to decide if this is the right speaker for you. If that's not Confidence ,then I don't know WTH is...? You can chase what this speaker can do for you and end uo spending the same amount, if not more through the purchase of several lesser quality speakers.
Mine is coming tomorrow good review
What sounds better the bose soundlink max or the sonos move 2? Thanks
I haven’t tried the Move 2 yet. But I can say the Bose is better than the first Move for sure
I tied this to my bicycle handlebars and cruise around - so far haven’t been arrested
is the bluetooth still active when the bose is connected to the aux?
@@jacobdavidson9752 yes it will swap between inputs
thank you!! finally someone replied. i heared this speaker in person and i was shocked at how good it sounded i thought it came from big sound bar with multiple drivers 🤣
@@jacobdavidson9752 it is incredible for its size
How does the sound quality of the Soundlink Max compare to the Bose Portable Smart Speaker?
@@johnh2850 Soundlink wins, but not by as much as you might think. Mainly due to the stronger bass
@@HammoTechReviews Thanks for the reply.
I bought it for 300 bucks it was on sale for a week on our bose website in our country, now it's 400 bucks again! 😅
@@TheCorne87 nicely done, got a damn good speaker there 👌
@@HammoTechReviews Yeah especially for the price i bought it for! 👍🏻
Hi what do you think of Alan rosses review on this speaker, do you agree with him.
Allan is a wonderful Reviewer but the money spent on one was a nonstarter with him. Like this guy spending the first 2 or 3 minutes of his 8 minute review grieving over" how much money" and fingerprints.
@@IAmKAZMO that’s a very good point sir, what do you think of the Bose soundlink max.
@stevendavies3379 I think they're actually worth more than what BOSE is charging. People don't even realize that BOSE includes expedited shipping into the price of each item sold, too.! I WILL be getting the red colored one as soon as I see it! The Flex and the Max should keep Anyone happy and not wanting for anything or anyone's... Quite the opposite, actually ... Please let me know how you like yours should you decide 😊
@@IAmKAZMO I will sir, I couldn’t decide between the Bose soundlink max or the Jbl authentics 500, what do you think.
@stevendavies3379 I have no idea about the JBL. I can say 9 out of 10 BOSE to JBL comparisons on any device ends with the BOSE winning. They're just two companies that appeal to two fundamentally different groups. If you like Bells and Whistles like lights and more lights. If you want a reliable piece of engineering with outstanding sound and innovation with a small footprint that won't go down in value anytime soon. Go with BOSE. Either way let me know!
may I ask is it easy dirty for blue one?
@@HaoLeNFC I haven’t tested myself but the material is the same so most likely
Boom 2 is similar boom 2 plus is way louder and more base heavy
Comparison coming out soon 👀
its twice the size...
This device works better with sound ID app to eliminate distortion after picking the right profile
Someone needs to vacuum the carpet 😛
Maybe 😂
The main probem is that you can get some amazing speakers these days for a third of the price if not less. Tribit has that Stormbox Blast for like 170/150 right now on Amazon, and that thing blows this 400 speaker out of the water and then some (and not just in sound mind you). The only real advantage Bose has that the aforementioned doesnt have, is its more compact size. In fact i might even be more down to own two Bose Soundlink Flex over one of these and still save myself a hundred bucks lol. Sorry but 400 is a a little cookoo if you ask me
There's even better options than Stormbox blast, like the W-King X20. For half the price of Bose.
@@LukeR1M Ya I mean the Wking x20 is around 300 and the Tribit Stormbox is even half of that, both on amazon right now. So I think I might even prefer 2 stormbox's over either lol! More bang for your buck, and you can link them in stereo even. The Wking might be better than the Tribit, but not 2x better. But all in all, yes alot better can be had for much less than this little 400 dollar Bose box
@@akyerit Wking is 220 currently on amazon, not 300. At least for me.
@@LukeR1M ya i mean the prices on Amazon tend to fluctuate alot. The Tribit was closer to 200 just a couple days ago. Also as far as better goes with those two specifically, I think it depends on ones preference. It's easily an arguable topic. The x20 is the better louder boombox/outdoor speaker. While the Tribit might be preferred for more audiophile/indoor listeners. I personally prefer the ins and outs of the x20 and the overall loudness, but I also prefer the overall sound from the Tribit and it is a bit smaller and lighter which can be helpful too. But right now currently where the Tribit is sitting, price wise on Amazon, it's def a no brainer for me
Take 2 Bose Flex or 2 Beats Pill. Even better
Please review the JBL Clip 5 and the Anker Soundcore Boom 2!!! It wouldn't be complete without it and a separate versus video!!!
I have filmed the comparison with the Boom 2 Plus, will get it live this week 😁
@@HammoTechReviews amazing! Love to see it! I hope you made separate reviews for them to dude! Get some rest if you need it
@@LegendaryMaoMao20 Standalone review for the Soundcore Boom 2 and Boom 2 Plus are already live. Just editing the comparison 😁
How does compare with sony ult field 7?
Much smaller of course, so definitely cannot go as loud or produce bass in the same thumpy way. But in terms of pure audio quality and frequency range it’s better
I got 2 Marshall Middleton for that price and pair both and I am rocking now !!!
I use Bose products on the go and at home I use Devielet Mania 🥰
Which sounds better mania or the max
Definitely Mania better ))
@@alexprince2469hell nah
I’d rather have the DB SOARS F29 MAX which is rated at 100 watts & a 30 hr battery for $199.99 on Amazon.
How can it be IP67 if there is no cover over the ports?
Because there are rubberized rings on the inside. Phones use the same concept.
Ehh i think ill go with the JBL boombox 3. I like my speakers to have the capability to go really loud as you already know and i like good mids treble And bass. Even though i know jbl Specializes in bass ive heard a lot of good things about the boom box 3. I think itd be a better buy than this honestly
It's a tough pick, I think the treble in the Bose is clearer and wider. However, the mids and bass are better on the BB3.
@@HammoTechReviews If I use the EQ and turn the bass down one click and the treble up one would that solve the issue or is the issue the tweeters being on top of the woofers? o.o
@@666Lachrimae666 it would help yes. But like you say, the JBL is designed and programmed from the ground up to be a bass heavy machine, which always sacrifices high ends. But considering the improved volume, it may be worth the slight trade off. You might not even notice after messing with the EQ.
@@HammoTechReviews I have a charge 5 now but I'm looking for not only stereo sound but a much louder portable device. I think you have me sold on the BB3 :) I don't mind fiddling with the EQ should I need to. I know JBL is always super bass heavy but being a disco fan I need my treble and mids present for sure xD
You might consider W-King X20 (It's louder than The Boombox3) and general sound quality is very comparable with the JBL. 220 for W-King on amazon but I don't think it's available in Europe. Otherwise just go for the JBL.
Play something with bass 👎
Man I can’t win 😂 everyone used to complain the last song I used was too bass heavy and said “play something with treble, like jazz”.
I’ve chosen what I believe to be the best of both worlds, there’s not much choice of good non copyright music
Bose Winn
Nah. JBL wins, even when there is no JBL in the video 😎
I would rather get the 10 year old Vifa Helsinki because of the sound quality, brand name ain't worth noting imo
Nah, vifa is outdated and dead.
@@shoerice5083 Dead, almost. Outdated? Not even close, tech inside is easily still some of the most advanced on the market...
@@lukabosnjak3829 lol
"Tech" some schematics and a driver.
And a super old bluetooth version from the 2000's
