I never wanted to watch those shows, what do I care that a very rich successful person gets an award and then gives a patronising speech about how we should think. Ricky was bringing reality back into the room, bringing them back down to earth. He's not cruel, just real. Love him

I used to be like ricky, intellectually confident and full of energy so i'd wrestle friends and stuff. Then I moved to uni and my parents moved countries so i lost my home and saw my friends less and less. Was living in a converted prison with people i didn't get on with and spent a lot of time alone reflecting on how i treated people. Now i try be nicer to everyone but people seem to like me less and less because of it. I wish i hadnt reflected so much and could still be myself
Ricky and Karl sorta bounce off each other, though its good to see Karl as more of an individual entity, presenters seem banal and obvious, keep up the good stuff Pilkington.
he is very smart actually. a lot of the things he says im like...wow...and sometimes im like..you know that's quite good. he's also a natural at comedic timing and his story telling is genius. the show couldnt of been half as funny and brilliant without Karl. i think Gervais is sometimes very harsh on him or very quick to shut down anything he has to say. but i love em all ! they are such a funny team. brilliant !
Ricky and Steve have learnt to coax out and nurture this ignorant side of Karl and use it for comic effect. I believe that every side of Karl we see is genuine, it's just how he changes in different environments. Who wouldn't want to come across polite and funny in an interview? And fair play to Karl, he knows he is uneducated and wants to make up for that. Which is only admirable.
