    You brought back some memories with the remark about a NINE BOB BIT Mike. We always had traveling lads come to my yard. One day a local traveling lad came in with his mate to pay for some parts. One of my lads said to me: watch out that he doesn't pay you in nine bob notes, so my son said, don't worry my dad has a load of three bob notes in change. Thanks for that Mike. OH! and for filling in the gaps of my knowledge of the power steering box. Once again an in depth tutorial video. Many thanks, Yorkshire Rob.

      Yes that's the way things are going Mike, but like you, me being a Yorkshire lad I do tend to say things in a direct manner and a lot of people cant face up to that, so why don't they just stay away ( eef off ) and stay in their own comfort zone instead of telling others what they can, or can not say..@@BritannicaRestorations

    Not sure of the seal dimensions or actual part number, however Ive used double lipped viton seals as replacements. Got them from Orings and more. Never had a leak after that

    Mike. "Your terrible Muriel" from Malawi, as we think the new owner needs to go for reach budget vs safe budget (+25%) ? Re-built my project power steering box, so what do you expect after +25 years. No more charity cases Mr. Jamieson ! V.

    Hello... is there any chance that a land rover intended Adwest block could be fitted in my DAF 400? I have an Adwest assisted steering block but badly leaking... i am in france ..this Daf has a Peugeot engine.. and of course drives on the other side! So any ideas (such as a kit of seals , are they available? )

    Hello Mike! question..the nut on top with the gasket if I change it needs adjustment? thank you

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  2 года назад +1

      If you mean the nut right in the middle of the square top then, no if you do not turn the threaded adjuster

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  2 года назад +1

      Just pay attention to the nut - the original nut has a built-in seal on the bottom, but the crappy aftermarket kits use a regular nyloc nut - no good at all!

    • @maximilianprimo7915

    • @maximilianprimo7915
      @maximilianprimo7915 2 года назад

      hello mike sorry if I insist .. can you tell me the pitch in inches of the nut the big one? then I adjusted the clearance which is now non-existent from the nut on the ring nut. to adjust the steering weight, on the other hand, do I have to act on the large screw? thanks

    If the only difference between the Britpart and German kit is the top nut, can't you just get JP to bung the nut in his lathe and machine an o-ring groove into the lower face of it, so a suitable o-ring can be fitted?
    Granted, it's a bit of a faff for a single repair but you could get half a dozen nuts done at once and then use them with Britpart kits when required.

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  3 года назад

      I think just get a seal kit STC2847G - you are then guaranteed all the rest is correct
      I forgot to mention this part 11011L - a Nylon tipped grub screw
      Regular grub screw in the BP kit
