Love how the Marine's Hymn didn't need any introduction. Everyone knows that one. I love these Military Medleys. I never served but they instill such a sense of pride I can't explain
@Jonathan Loh I believe he was a member of the Operations team. The band's stage crew and sound operators are all enlisted Marines who get posted to the unit (I think!).
The fact that the Marine Corp band stood would have been a giveaway.
Because its played by the marine’s band and its the last out of 5. 😒😒
@@charlielowes8495you just had to ruin it huh?
I love how when the Marine Hymn played the entire [Marine] Orchestra stood without any loss to there place in the music. 100% skill
Hoowah.
ORCHESTRA 😳😳😳😳 I can’t
That's why they are The Presidents Own!
@@THEBOSS47MLG lil true
i could never do something like that without losing time
By tradition, every Marine physically capable of doing so must stand when the Marine Hymn is played. They do so at 2:42
@@rawpotatofella9654 why
We stand when we hear the Marine Hymn because...well...we're Marines
@@whovianmusic
Simply put, it is due to a sense of Pride in ourselves and in Honor of those who’ve gone before us. Semper Fi!
So very true!!!
Likewise for the US Army ("The Army Goes Rolling Along").
I am an Army veteran, but I have to say that I nowadays I really enjoy listening to the songs of all branches. Well-played by the Marine Band.
I've gotten to watch this great band play, it was a real honor to see, in my opinion, the best of the best musicians in America.
I'll always stand salute for "anchors awaigh" every time.
The old Marine vet saluting at the end... I think it was the onions I was chopping.
Right in the feels, brother.
Dusty in here. This is wonderful!
Balling.
I am a Korean. And I'm a Korean military reserve. I love America and respect American soldiers as friends.
I also love various music played by the U.S. military band, especially various marches. It's always fun, energetic, and not boring.
I love America, I love the U.S. military band, and I love the various marches played by the U.S. military band.
Thank you, friend
@@graceskerp thank you!
Much love and respect to the tough and courageous Korean troops. Anyone who has had the honor of working with the Korean military knows what I’m talking about. 🫡

Wow. Marines KILL it with their salute to the Armed Forces medley. So much more challenging an arrangement than played by US ARMY Field Band. I’m not a military person but have just become a big fan of the Marine Band. I believe their motto is Semper Fi. So yes! SEMPER FI!!!

Thank you to all that have served and will serve.
As a retired USAF NCO, I have immense pride in all branches, and when I hear these marches, I get goosebumps!
Same here. When you hear them, do you too want to suit up and do it again? Good times and bad times, but when the time was good, it was very, very good.
i remember my old school playing this every vets day and my dad would always be the only Marine, and I would stand up and scream for him like a whacko
Lol
You're a good person, thanks for your dad's service
Marine brats unite! It's not just you...I did the same as a kid, and still do today as an adult.
lmao
The Marine Corps hymn still to this day gives me the chills. I miss my Marine brothers.
They are always around you in your mind, heart and soul. And never forget that every marine is your brother! And oath never expires! To the last breath and drop of blood. Semper Fidelis devil dogs! 🇺🇲👍🪖⚔🦅🌎⚓👹🐕🎯💥☠

My grandfathers on both sides were both in the military. I never got to meet them, they both died before I was born. I never knew which branch they served in, so I just stand for the whole medley. God bless America!!! ❤️💙🤍❤️💙🤍
"Marines"! Semper Fidelis from a former Navy corpsman.
I love how Our hymn needs no introduction! Semper Fi brothers and sisters!!
Thank you for your service (: It's much appreciated
As a retired US Army Sergeant First Class and former bandsman (flute/piccolo) I always get excited and grateful when I hear such concerts. God Bless America.
Im a US Marine combat vet and three of my children are currently US Marines.
Gives me goosebumps. I love the Marine's Hymn.
My step son was a marine. He's home and blessed with a family of 4 children and a wonderful wife.
I love on how the music engineer stands and points on the flags.
Their dress uniforms are stunningly beautiful!
I’d like to thank all the servicemen and women for their service and sacrifice for our country thank you so much
This is literally making me cry so much!!!
You all make our country so proud! Thank you for your service!
Did anyone notice the young "jarhead" (black t-shirt) at the bottom of your screen at 2 min.41 , who was the first to stand up at attention and look at the flag! (while others looked to the stage) when the drumroll started and all marines on the stage stood up. He knew what was coming in advance as a true marine and stayed at attention while looking at the flag and when the hymn ended , he said down while others stood up to applaud. It shows the difference between those who've served and learned and those who never did such. It is called tradition!
Maybe he is a marine who is part of the production team of the Marine Band coz he is wearing black (like most prod/backstage people do) and is in the tech booth so I think he really knows.
God Bless America fans, now more than ever united to be strong & never let any evil dare to harm you guys 🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🤗🤗🤗🤩🤩🤩😘😘🥳🥳💯💯💯🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾😍😍😉😉😉💕💕🎺🎺🎺🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

You might not be far off, as far as the name goes. Someone took the time to work an actual John Phillip Soussa march into a Space Force anthem. It's not official but they did a good job on it.

Happy Veterans Day to all my fellow Veterans.I served proudly in the U S Army for eight years. Godbless all the men and woman of our armed forces.
Music is the horn of human life! Exciting and rhythmic drums inspire people to move forward, encourage people to think and create a better hope and life!
fun fact: military bands traditionally wear "reverse colors" on their tunics, for instance the Marines wear reversed red/blue. this is because in the Age of Sail, bandsmen served as stretcher bearers carrying the wounded from the battlefield. they hoped the distinctly different uniform colors would tell the enemy the stretcher bearers weren't combat soldiers, hoping the enemy wouldn't shoot at them (it didn't always work).
some people think the USMC band wears red tunics because it's an homage to Marines being modeled after the Royal Marines during the War of Independence, but this isn't true. the Colonial Marines wore rifle green uniforms because green was the cheapest dye in the Colonies, and green broadcloth was widely available--they never wore red. oddly enough, the scarlet color of the British army was chosen because scarlet was the cheapest dye in Britain at that time.
after 1804, the Royal Marines Artillery was formed, and they wore the blue coats of the artillery forces, while the infantry Marines wore the scarlet infantry coat (which is why they were called "lobsters").
Idk man, from what I've heard, the scarlet red dye of the redcoats was pretty damn expensive at the time. They wore it for dramatic/psychological effect on the battlefield.
They used scarlet tunics to make the enemy think they had more men that they didn’t have.
FUN FACT MILITARY BANDS TRADITIONALLY WEA
"It didn't always work" is the correct way to describe marines.
Marines, most of the timem had a "unique" approach when they try to solve something. Starting since colonial time, when marines believed that wearing leatherneck collar will help their neck protect against saber slash during ship boarding and amphibious assault. The Army and Navy mocking them by using "leatherneck" to call marines.
Marines later rocking the "jarhead" because they think it will help their head cool off from wearing the helmet during the Vietnam war. Obviously, mariens was only wearing helmet 24/7 and not body armor, so it's not working since the enemy was using AK and aim center mass instead of the headshot. "Jarhead" just become another mocking nickname Army and Navy call them.
"Crayon eater" is about how some marine grunt can and will trade you all his MRE food for a pack of cheese spread (better cheese spread version like jalapeno or bacon bit will nail you better trading, and cheese spread somehow look like crayon).
Last but not least the unofficial name for U.S.M.C. = Uncle Sam Misguided Children.
Gotta give it to the marine that they actually digging those nicknames as a "sense of pride" for some "reason"
FUN FACT MILITARY BANDS TRADITIONALLY WEAR REVERSE COLORS ON THEIR
I remember going to listen to the Marine Band during the summer on Sunday nights when they played free concerts on the Watergate barge on the Potomac. Back then Washington was a civilized place. Ike and JFK and other politicians were not the trash that holds office now. The business of government was carried on within the district limits. Today government is a bureaucratic mess. I truly believe I was lucky to be alive during this country’s best times. The future looks very bleak.
Your patriotism is fine. But those weren't the country's best times for women, people of color, LGBTQ+ folks and the disabled. Things aren't great now, but it's WAY better for nonwite and non straight people.
Outstanding simply outstanding
Happy fourth. Thank you to all the veterans who served our country and a special thank you to Thomas who laid down their life and payed the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸
i really love the bass line during the marine hymn. Better than i ever played it
This must stir the hearts of anyone who is American.
Even those who are not born American. I am a lucky bastard to fly for the Navy (I am from a NATO member country). Thing is... back home, we had the most lame and depressing marches... almost a shame to listen to them. Anchors Aweigh in contrast... well, nothing can compare.
@@Dinnye01 Didn't the Finns pick up Anchors Aweigh as their naval medley/ hymn?
My favorite tune of the 5 is the US Coast Guard song.
Although i am Indonesian... But never bored for listen these armed force medley... Strong hymn... Very Inspiring.. And Motivating. Salute for all of the Americans that already and currently serving for their country.
Judging by the resulting ovation from the audience, you can automatically assume they will play “The Stars and Stripes Forever” after this!
Proud and lucky to of been called a United States Air Force Airman
I remember them coming to my middle school and performing this melody. I was in band, and we played this medley later on for our parents/staff (obviously not nearly as well as this!) They're all great tunes, but I think Air Force's is my favorite!
Our daughter, Tania Dutko graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1992!!!!
Congratulations for her! You must be so proud. I'm assuming she served after that, so I thank her for her service. (:

The Coast Guard: no one stands in the frame of the camera...
yutly yutly oof the underdogs 😂
Tbh that’s probably because not too many people join the Coast Guard to begin with.
It's the smallest branch, currently about 41K active duty. In contrast -
Army: 470K
Navy: 337K
AF: 321k
Marines: 182K
So, one out of hundred will be a Coast Guard veteran. Probably one or two in the audience. They just didn't get in the frame.

They should take every 6th,7th & 8th grader to Arlington to show them what freedom really cost, it's no cheap, that blanket or freedom was expansive it took 200 yrs.to weave.0
Unfortunetly, my 8th grade trip was cancelled this year for obvious reasons. But I totally agree
Back in 5th we went, still want to go back.
When I was in the US Navy, my ship made a port call at Cherbourg (sp?) France. Went on a bus tour of the beaches at Normandy, various towns in the area and the cemetery at Normandy. The rows of white crosses, punctuated by Star of David markers, left an impression and memory that is still fresh in my memory over forty years later. It’s one thing to see something of this nature on television or a computer screen, yet the impact of seeing it in person is immeasurable.
No matter what branch you served it's a part of being of something bigger than youself,It',a called patriotism and the love of country

I've met servicenmen and -women from many nations and branches over the years, but the Marines are a kind of their own - uniform or civvies, active or long retired. Today is the 19th Anniversary of 9/11--may we never forget the many who died that day--the workers in the towers, the policemen and the firefighters, the others that ran in to help. Let us not forget the families of those who died, and those who still are suffering the effects of the horrid smoke and debris that filled the air for months. REMEMBER how our nation came together!!! At this time in history our nation is so divided that my heart breaks!! Please, let us come together agian for the common good of all. Our nation was founded for the good of all.
