  • Fly along with the GoPro as it is taken aloft by a kite over the ten-inch disappearing rifles of Fort Casey State Park on Whidbey Island in Washington.
Fort Casey was one of many U.S. Army Coastal Artillery Corps forts built up and down both coasts at the turn of the century. Along with Fort Worden and Fort Flagler, Fort Casey formed what was called the Triangle of Fire guarding the mouth of the Puget Sound.
No enemy soldier, vessel, or aircraft ever made it past this position. The fort's very presence was enough to deter any attempt of invasion. These guns were never fired in anger, and now the kids play on them.
I used a KITE to fly the camera.
