    I'm so glad David said we need to practice; and I do keep practicing. As a victim of childhood bullying; being triggered and not knowing how to deal with workplace bullying, I need to change my belief that I can't cope with not being liked; or indeed criticised; to I can cope with the fact that some people won't like me; and that's up to them.

      Thankyou so much for your reply. I was wondering however, is there possibility of you doing a teaching video at some time on the causes and effects of bullying, as it appears to be such a sad part of our educational and workplace culture; even leading in extreme cases to teenagers taking their own lives.@@WuWeiWisdom

    Sometimes anger and defending yourself is definitely the right approach but it’s not usually anxiety or fear unless that’s what this scenario requires

    I can’t thank you guys enough for making this video. I love the ABC approach so many times I wanted to speak up, stand up for myself, but I was afraid of breaking relationships, but if the relationship was that shaky, it wasn’t a real relationship to begin with.

    is it a victim mindset to accept you cant control others actions even if they hurt? how do we take accountability for our pain from the aftermath of a close one hurting you? thank you

      Radical acceptance (DBT therapy) can be very helpful. With difficult family, or other relationships, sometimes it's best to learn about damaging abnormal personalities, how they generally evolve from childhood. Education is power. Some relationships are so toxic, you simply need to distance yourself from the person. It depends on the severity, the patterns. There is help, some things in life we are accountable for, somethings aren't our fault. Meditation can be really huge for answering personal questions, learning to focus your mind.

    Are you familiar with neuroscientist Lisa Feldman Barrett’s “theory of constructed emotions?” It’s consistent with your view. And provides a moment to moment physiological description of what you describe.

    As I have gone through the Wu Wei Wisdom counseling process, my understanding of why I acted or responded in certain situations in the past has become clearer. I can give myself grace now and forgiveness instead of feeling frustrated with the way I showed up in my life and interacted with others. Looking beyond my feelings and seeing them as a symptom of a deeper issue has allowed me to communicate significantly better with those who are important in my life. This has been tremendously helpful. Thank you, both, as always.

    Is there a workbook you guys have to help with step by step ways to go through the process of understanding emotions, the activating event, and how to assess and question our beliefs.

    As always another wonderful video, after watching your videos, i think the root cause of my heath anxiety is “ I can’t cope “ this helps me a lot meanwhile when I get panic symptoms my heart beat faster ,my blood pressure goes up, body shaking …I get very scared and it makes all the symptoms even worse . H

    I get this but the thing is I feel unworthy and unloved because that's what I experienced a t home growing up and I haven't experiencing close, loving relationships as an adult so to me the feelings are valid. How to counter this if I haven't had warm, positive, loving experiences?

      Your not alone brother/sister I also have had definitional parents in a broken home. Find your ego wounds and work through ABC approach especially with intuition. Being gas lit really hurts your ability to trust yourself.

    Two emotionally sensitive people in the room watching this video, and it definitely hit home! Perspective is so valuable, and finding that middle ground in life (such a valuable adaptation towards a better path in life). It takes practice regarding self-awareness, outward projections, and failures to take personal accountability for our own emotions. (this is ultimately what helps us become proper adults!). When doing practices such as radical acceptance, at first it sort of feels like enabling the world (the boundary violations from our past) as though it was okay for the wrong doers to commit such unwise personal choices. It's easy to get consumed by the YEA BUT! As suggested, there is absolute truth to exploring personal beliefs, and not just what we were groomed to believe is reality. It's only when we self-realize/individuate explore who we really are by looking inward, and establish a sense of what we believe, we can adapt healthy boundaries, like suggested person "B" in the video. Spirituality, gratitude, can literally change the brain's chemistry, and we have to reinforce our lives with unbreakable positivity, simply knowing, I can change the moment in front of me, let go of difficult feelings by not choosing to be them, and understand that even the bullies were once bullied, we simply handled the trauma differently, adapted different coping mechanisms. Life is fast, and arguably the most valuable thing is learning who we really are, and finding personal balance! It takes effort, discipline, and coincides with the future by making the necessary changes now. Great video!!!! Cant argue with a healthy dose of perspective, many thanks!
