Went on my first Carnival cruise in 2018, I was so focused on what to pack didn't know I could decorate the cabin door. First day of the cruise I saw a lot of fun decorations on the long hallway to my cabin. It was an 8-day cruise and I started using the decor on one cabin door as a landmark. Then for some reason one evening they took decor down and I had to wing it back to my room LOL. Not cruising again until March 2023 but this time I aim to decorate my own door. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the great ideas!! I have never decorated my cabin door before, but will decorate it for our May 2022 Alaska Cruise...and I have plenty of time to come up with some fun things!
I always decorate the cabin door on the outside. It is so much fun to hear people outside your cabin discussing your decorations. So much fun decorating with your favorite team during the NCAA football season or thinking of a catchy theme that matches the cruise itinerary!!!
Hey chris... first time cruiser here well not until 2023.. I never knew that people decorate their doors but I have heard that before.. I really like those magnets you have . I will be checking them out . I think that would be neat to have and plus a nice keepsake as well!! Thanks so much for the idea!!!
I put a second hand, from Goodwill, women's decorative scarf around the outside door handle so I know that is my cabin incase I do not remember the cabin number the first two nights. I never put an expensive scarf around the door handle because it could grow legs and walk away!
I have a 'bag'.' Each day I will turn it over. One side says, "I have no cruise control. It seems they book themselves.' On the other side it says, "Husband and wife, cruisers for life. We may not have it all together, but together we have it all." On both sides are stickers of all the cruises we've been on. Gotta decorate the door. Don't give me started on Christmas cruises lol
California Linda always decorates the cabin door, door planning begins shortly after booking the cruise. On longer cruises I even change the decorations, especially if the sailing includes Christmas and NewYears. 🎄🥂 I use a 12in by 12in magnetic square (reusable) as the base with a selected scrapbooking page to create my display. Next year's door decoration will begin with a multiple ocean wave page and a pair of flip flops purchased from The Dollar Tree that state Seas the Day. A small glue gun is all you need to make it stick. NewYears always includes a greeting, small plastic decorated champagne glasses with gold and silver thule netting and ribbon on a black starred background. 🥂 So much fun...
We cruised over Mardi Gras so the wifer added beads and masks on our door. However, some cabins had small white boards and markers that anyone could give hello or happy birthday .
Thank you Chris for the tips. We are cruising Sept. 11. Can you tell me how wide a cruise cabin door is? I want to make a sign but don' t want to make it too wide.
Yes I get little mini ducks and put magnets on them and I love ducking doors and hiding them

Chris, Yes We always decorate our door & the inside of our cabin as well.. We do birthday's & anniversary cruises a lot..
You ha e to decorate your door . It helps you find the right room after a night of being over served. Dang bartenders 🤪

Not sure the exact size but they are skinnier then a regular door so definitely don’t go very wide

They are magnetic, but weak magnets don't stay very well
Recently heard that the new MARDI GRAS cabin doors are not magnetic so we'll be using Command Strips to decorate...
