That looks a very decent product and need one for work 👍🏻
You do 👍
The lower the internal resistance the more current can flow. Ohms law I = V / R.
I was undecided if to buy one of these or the traditional analogue heater element type. I think for £20 it looks to do a good enough job.
Cheers for that mate, I'm sure if you know what you are doing with it then it's a valuable bit of kit.
Good video. Good accent.
CCA - its British standard.
SAE - its US
EN - Europe
JiS - Japan
Thanks mate, I really appreciate that 👍
You want the internal resistance to be under 10 mOhms. If it’s higher, it’s an indicator of sulphate on the plates and/or acid stratification. Smart battery chargers can pulse the plates to break up sulphate deposits, and run the charger at a higher voltage to cause gassing which mixes up the acid.
Thanks for the info.
That's a great help thank you 👍
@@JimmyTheMower Thanks for the video. I ordered one for me and one for a mate, and was just checking out what others had thought of it.
I should maybe have added that the 10 mOhm figure only applies to standard 12v car batteries. Smaller 12v batteries like you’d get for alarms and backup lighting have much smaller plates, therefore a smaller overall surface area to conduct the current. This means their normal internal resistance is much higher.

Interesting!
It is if you know how to work it 🤣🤣🤣
Hmmm I need to get one of these..
They are a great tool if you can understand what all the numbers mean. I need to do some learning 🤣🤣
@@JimmyTheMower lol I did the same video last week 🤣
@@themowerman no way. I recorded this ages ago 🤣🤣🤣
How do you use the tester if the CCA is not written on the battery?
Some batteries have no info on them & most small 12v or 6v gel cell batteries only have the ah rating!
You can find a conversion chart on Google. That shows all the different numbers.
If there aren't any numbers at all, it will at least tell you the voltage.
Kingbolen BM580 has settings for testing batteries with both EN and CCA. I guess you got scetchy readings on your batteries because the 550 only has CCA?
Thanks for that information 👍
