Thank you for growing many Texas natives natives in your yard and showing them as beautiful plants. I wanted to let you know that the vitex and trailing purple lantana are not native to Texas. The vitex is native to the Mediterranean and is highly adapted to our Texas environment. It can be invasive in certain situations though not likely in the Texas hill country. The trailing purple lantana is native to South America.

Really enjoy your videos. Especially since I live in the N. Dallas area. Great information. Thank you for sharing.

I’ve been told the white salvia is Augusta Duelberg and the purple is Henry Duelberg, and they are named for the graves they were found on. Interesting story! Unfortunately, knockout roses have been really susceptible to Rose Rosette Disease. It will attack other roses, also.

Interesting story! And yes knock out roses are also susceptible to Rose Rosette. I had to pull a few Knock out roses out last year.

Everything is doing great. Don't you love Spring in Texas? Henry Duelburg Salvia can really be a bully. When mine get wild I cut them back to the ground, even in the summer. They come back great. I'm going to try cutting them back like you suggest so it's not a blank space for a while.

I also dig up big sections and transplant them around my yard. They are easy to propagate.

Wow your coneflowers are way ahead of mine. Mine have foliage about 6 inches high. Last year i didnt get flowers until june. CA central valley zone 9b. The cherry laurel looks good, i just put those in last year for a screen, some of them struggled throguh the winter with some sort of fungus. Im hoping they get established this year and heartier

Please document the vitex tree shaping. I have one that's 3 yrs old and hardly grows tall. I have tried shaping it and now I just left it.

@@MissPiggyLilly this probably wasn't directed to me, BUT I ALSO HAVE A VITEX! it has grown very fast over 3 yrs. They like full sun, and after the first year I only water it every two or 3 weeks.

My mealy blue sage is very leggy...has beautiful flowers already so I don't know whether to cut it back yet?

I would cut it back by 1/3 before it starts getting too hot.
